1. Incentive tourist

3. Business tourist
4. Education tourist
5. Adventure tourist
6. Lazier tourist

enhance their knowledge about the history of world. Business tourists are the type of tourists that
visit a particular pl ace for business purpose but later on it becomes a vacation as well.
Visitor types can also be segmented on the basis of market. The ways n which tourist
segmentation is done in market are:-
GEOGRAPHIC SEGMENTATION – It is a type of segmentation that is according to the
geographical area. In this, tourist will be segmented on the basis of their country, population
density etc. So, people from different geographical area come to visit UK like Indian people like
to see the world and they travel a lot as well. So UK must have so many Indian tourists as well.
DEMOGRAPHIV SEGMENTATION – It is a segmentation that is done on the basis of
variables like age, income, family size, socio-economic status etc. It is believed that normally
people from middle age travel a lot than children or old age group. Also, the profession of people

overcrowding (Gössling and et. al., 2011). So, all these kinds of activities are having a vast
impact of services and products of country. The various types of activities that are having both
positive as well as negative impact on tourism are as follows:-
BASIS POSITIVE NEGATIVE
ECONOMICAL Economy is having a positive
impact through overlapping of
tourism as well as
overcrowding because if more
and more people will visit
then more money will be
generated as well.
Its negative impact is that the
local people will be impacted
very much as the country will
become crowded. Another
impact is that it will increase
the amount of wastage of
products and services and
because of this heritage places
are getting badly affected.
SOCIAL AND CULTURE Because if increase in no. of
tourists, government will take
good care of all the property
seeing which tourists are
attracted. This will lead to
maintaining the place and their
culture for longer time.
Its negative impact is that
peoples from different country
visit a particular place it
brings their bad habits as well
like drugs, drinking, loud
music. All these activities may
not acceptable for the local
people.
ENVIRONMENTAL With the increase in no. Of
tourists, the government and
tourist companies will star
conserving the ancient and
wildlife centuries so that
through this they can earn
more money.
Increase in no. of tourist will
make the place ore congested
and thus it will bring a feeling
of discontentment on the
people living in local areas as
their daily life will be affected

Overcrowding – There are many times that a place becomes overcrowded due to increase in no. a
good sign. The good points here are like it will increase the no. of job opportunities but at the
same time , it will spoil the natural beauty as well (Hartmann, 2014).
Wear and Tear – In this , it is said that if there is any kind of damage caused to the
properties then it is the responsibility of government to repair it make it look beautiful all over
again. Then only they will be able to generate more and more money through them.
Traffic Related – Increase in no. of tourists will relate to congestion and thus will have a
bad impact on environment. This is a environmental issue as chances of accidents get rises
because many people do not know how to drive in other countries.
These visitors are mainly affecting the society and environment in both positive and
negative manner. Through continuous improvement in local culture, people from all around
come and see the culture of different areas. This will lead to expansion in culture worldwide.
Also, if number of visitors gets rises, government and all local bodies will lead to provide more
and more facilities over at such sites.
2.3 Effect of different theories of tourism motivation on the management of visitors attraction
There are so many types of visitors that are coming to UK every year. It is the responsibility of
government to make sure that they manage these tourists very well so they visit these places once
again. If a person will get good attention and services in a different country then they will feel
motivated to visit that place again and again. Management of visitors is a very important task for
the country as their country’s image is also dependent on this. For ex. If a person goes to UK but
does not receive good treatment rather they are facing many issues there then they will make a
bad image in their mind about UK and will never plan their trip. So, it is essential that the tourist
does not face any kind of issues and leave the country happily (Haukeland, 2011). There are
various kinds of motivation factors that can be use to make the tourist happy like cultural factors,
physical factors etc.
It is to be taken care that the person who is coming to the country as tourist is receiving
good services in the country like good accommodation, good food, good hospitality etc. All these
small factors have a huge impact on the lives of individuals. Hence, there are various numbers of
theories are introduced in the consent of tourism motivation which are as follow:

for the society and contribute their income in this sector as well. The companies associated in
this are also required to include all the local people before taking any kind of decision while
inviting tourists to the country (Henderson, 2011).
Sustainable Tourism –According to this theory, it is said that companies are required to provide
good services to the tourist so that they are satisfied with the kind of services they are receiving
in the country. Here, contribution from government is very much required in order to provide
efficient services.
Eco Tourism – This theory represents the actions which are taking for conserving environment.
This study completely emphasis on protecting all natural resources by arranging a visit which do
not lead to harm nature.
Smart Consumer – It is also an effective theory of increasing the no. of visitor attraction as if
the customers are smart then they will be al to judge what is good and what is bad for them and
thus will not do any such thinking that can destroy or harm the people of tourist destination.
Their behaviour should be good.
