Introduction
Wesfarmers Limited is a conglomerate industry of Australia, headquartered in Perth, Western
Australia. It has predominant interest in New Zealand and Australian chemicals, fertilizers, coal-
mining, and retail, safety and industrial products. In this report, the identification of the
professional management, accounting, and public relations issues are described in detail.
Appropriate justification and analysis has been made for completing the research. The way of
discovering the key secondary data and data sources for the project has been explained.

1. Identification of professional accounting, management, and public relation issues
There should be analyses of the issues relating to the professional accounting, management and
public relations for the global and multinational strategies and for the analysis of industry and
competition of Wesfarmers Limited. These are described as following-
Management- Changes in the organization’s management is significant for the formation of the
strategies related to the multinational and global policies and to increase the competitive position
of the company in the global market.
Professional accounting- The staff actions of the Wesfarmers were involved in the scheme of
supplier rebate which did not comply with the accounting policies.
Public relations issues- New public relations manager has been appointed by Wesfarmers.
Public relations disaster has been faced over Cole’s backflip for started charging plastic bags.
Human Resource Management- For achieving the strong sustainable performance and good
growth the human resources team is committed for delivering the outcomes related to the people.
Organizational structure- Wesfarmers has eight subsidiaries and eighty-five executives. It is the
largest private employer having 2, 23,000 employees approximately (Biddle, 2015).

2. How to complete the research for the chosen project including appropriate analysis and
justification
For conducting the research with respect to the global and multinational strategies of Wesfarmers
following points will be considered and consideration will also be given on the industrial and
competitive analysis of the company.
The focus of the Wesfarmers will be on expanding its market share globally and paying attention
on this due to the government regulations and interventions. Wesfarmers will adopt the
innovative strategies for increasing its competitiveness (Thompson, 2014).

3. What would be the key secondary data and how the data sources can be discovered for
the project?
Key secondary data is the data which is collected earlier by someone else. It is the past data and
is easy and quick to process. It is cost effective and has short collection time.
The secondary data for the project of Wesfarmers can be collected from government
publications, reports, journal article, books, census and organization’s internal records. This will
help the company in analyzing the industrial and competitiveness of company and will also help
in making global and multinational strategies (Saunders & Lewis, 2012).

4. Develop a strategy to address the issues identified for the project including consideration
of accounting, management, public relations implications, and other organizational
resource implications
There are wide range of sustainability challenges in the industrial operations of chemicals,
energy generations, safety and industrial product distribution. Sustainability practices are being
integrated in to the Wesfarmers. Improvements in the safety performance, and increased
investment in training, recruitment and team member’s retaining. Various innovation strategies
will be adopted by the company to have a good expansion of market globally and to gain the
competitive advantage (Thompson, 2014).

Conclusion
In this report, the professional accounting, management and public relations issues of
Wesfarmers has been described. The secondary data sources will be gathered for the project
through articles, journals, annual reports. Proper analysis and justification of each issues have
been made.
