Topic: Why Do I want to Teach
This assignment is based on the personal choice of teaching. Since my childhood, I was
always enthusiastic in learning new concepts, principles, workings and ideologies. I never
believed anything without logic and reasoning. This formed my learning foundation and got
support from all my teachers and mentors from school. Along this, I was inspired how my
teachers always encouraged me and assisted in addressing all my queries, doubts and struggles in
context to my academics and the worldly affairs. This motivated me to teach and share my
knowledge with others. However, the biggest driving force was my zeal and passion to help
others with the help of my educational background. Personally, I feel that education is the key to
all the locked doors. It paves the pathway of happiness, success and enlightenment (Theobald,
2018). In my childhood, when I saw my maid servant was struggling with her life's struggles due
to lack of awareness as she was an illiterate, I decided to help her by making her learn the basics
of language and mathematics. This changed her life and mine too. I realized my potential of
helping people by providing them solutions and supporting them by my education.
I love to teach others as it accelerates my self-improvement and aid in the development of
the society as a whole. Malala Yousafzoui, Nobel Laureate is the epitome of this topic
(Yousafzai and McCormick, 2014). She not only changed the outlook of people towards the
significance of girls education but also encouraged me to take up teaching. . This young lady
boosted my confidence and showed me that if one has the self-belief and is ready to face any
obstacles to reach the targeted goals then it brings only positive changes in the entire world and
benefit the humanity in forwarding direction. I know that boys and girls are the future of a
country and can become the backbones of the economy. Consequently, I want to teach the young
minds and clear their foundational learning with clarity and transparency so that it will later reap
benefits to their lives.
Additionally, I always wanted to work for social improvement, through teaching I would
be able to work better for society. I can also contribute towards the upliftment of my community
in better manner by making people realise not to blindly believe the religious beliefs, social
stigmas and traditional values. I want them to be scientifically sound and have the conscience to
understand the difference between right and wrong. In recent times, these kids are easily
distracted and make choices which affect them in negative manner; along this, they also

sometimes move towards the crime world and it affects their family reputation in the eyes of the
society. Moreover, I feel that if in minute ways also, I can overcome this situational crisis by
giving proper guidance and direction to them. With empathy emotion, it channelised my
cognitive abilities to help the society at larger scale. To sum up, teaching is the best profession to
follow to bring concrete changes in the society.
