INTRODUCTION
Work place discrimination is one of the current issues faced by many workers while
doing their jobs in big or small companies. It consider as unfair treatment of staff based on
prejudices that directly impact on productivity and motivational level of applicants.
Discrimination in work areas is illegal act that affects business performance and sales rather than
before. The current research is based on specific topic that related to work place discrimination
faced by female leaders within Marriot hotel. This study explains research methods undertaken
by researcher to conducts current research and interpretate data gather with the help of
questionnaire.
TASK- 2
Costs, ethical problems and access consideration
In order to conducts research and find appropriate results researcher had to focus on
many things such as gather data from different sources, buy products or things that help during
data analysis and data gathering procedure etc. All these activities consume time as well as
money; investigator requires resources and set their budget according to their costs which is
important.
Before collecting data or info related to topic from varied sources research had to take
access that is really very important, without getting access it is impossible for them to gather
relevant information. In respect to this research, researcher face issue while getting access for
data sources because it shows high privacy that protect info from people who are able to misuse
it that is not appropriate.
In context of ethical issues, researcher face problem while conducting investigation in
regards to ethical that impact on its study or findings. Investigator faces ethical problems during
research procedure. They do not disclose any type of info or data about research and its
participants. It is quite difficult to protect it from longer period of time from other people’s as it
need hard work and extra efforts.

Research types:
In this methodology, there are two type of research such as qualitative method and
quantitative method. In respect of gathering the original information, researcher had applied the
qualitative method in which they chooses the questionnaire procedure to raise question from the
participants (Ørngreen and Levinsen, 2017). Thus, the question which are raised to the female
leaders helps in gathering the more relevant information which proves the barriers which they are
facing at work place in better way.
Research philosophies:
It refers to the ideas and belief which is undertaken by the researcher in respect of
interpreting the correct information from the available details. It covers two methods such as
positivism and interpretivism. In respect of presenting the research in unique way, interpretivism
procedure is used in which the data is to be interpreted once they collected from various sources
(Wiek and Lang, 2016). In this research, the data is to be collected from different sources or it
can be internal or external, thus by applying the interpretivism method, it helps in interpreting
the accurate information.
Research approach:
It includes the authentic planning and procedure which is undertaken to cover the detailed
information in better way. It includes two method such as inductive and deductive method. In
respect of presenting the research in right way, researcher had applied the inductive method
which is linked up with the qualitative method (Wiek and Lang, 2016). In this research, the
internal information is to be gathered by taking reviews from the female leaders working in the
organization.
Data collection:
This is one of the important method in respect of collecting the data by applying two
factors such as primary method and secondary method. By applying the primary method, it
results in gathering information from questionnaire which reflects the original data. The merits of
choosing this method is that it carried full control upon the data to be selected or not. The
limitation which raise is relating to requiring high cost to collect the data from various sources

(Fletcher, 2017). The secondary method refers to collecting the data from articles, journals,
books, magazines etc. The benefits by applying this method are time consuming procedure. The
limitation which is faced is relating to not getting accurate data.
Sampling:
This is mainly preferred in respect of facing large number of population through which
the data is to be gathered. It includes two types such as probabilistic and non-probabilistic
method. In this, researcher mainly applied the non-probabilistic method in which they selected
the random sampling procedure to select random leaders to gather the information from (Bresler
and Stake, 2017). In this research, 20 female leaders are selected to gather information regarding
to undertaking the leadership and management strategies at work place.
Data analysis:
Once the data is collected, it is analyzed, interpreted and monitor to collect the relevant
information. Here, in this researcher had applied the thematic method in which the data is
presented on the bases of theme (Kumar, 2019). The benefits of choosing this method are that it
helps in presenting the information in better way. The demerits raised in respect of missing the
accurate values which provide more detailed and presentable information.

about workplace discrimination. In context of above statement, 12 respondents are aware
above this concept they known what are the impact of discrimination in work area and how

neutral and 1 is disagreeing from above speech.

the other side, 5 participants discrimination at work area impact on physical and mental health of
female leader. 4 respondents believe that above issue affects productivity level negatively and
another 4 think that all above things get happen due to workplace discrimination.

Interpretation- Majority of respondents are in favor of above statement they think that while
implementing plan and reducing discrimination upon female leaders face major issues or
challenges. Whereas, 6 respondents think that hotel is not facing any type of challenges

like male. Whereas, 4 believe that workers prefer to communicate with male leader instead of

Reflection
The present study is based on discrimination in workplace face by female leaders within
Marriot hotel. While conducting this research I examined that when people does not treated by
their senior with equally it affects their morale negatively. I learn how to overcome this issue by
taking and considering the best option among many. By conducting this research through
examining data from primary and secondary sources, it is stipulated that workplace
discrimination impacted business growth and workers abilities for longer way. As hotel adapt
different methods to reduce this problem and to retain their knowledgeable people. I examine
that by providing chances to female leader for participating in decision making procedure
management can cater fair chance to grow as it shows equality.
Moreover, I also analyzed that all the workers either male or female while doing job in
Marriott hotel require equality in management behavior, they want to receive fair opportunity to
grow their professional career.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMEDATION
From above analysis it has been concluded that discrimination in workplace affects staff
morale and decrease their performance level which is not suitable for business growth and
success within specific market. In increase high employee turnover and create negative
environment around work areas where number of applicants are working together in order to
achieve Marriot hotel business aims and objectives. Female leaders while performing their role
within organization face discrimination and barriers, they are not feeling well as it impact
emotionally and physically. By taking appropriate actions and comply with principles of
Equality Act 2010 management handle the overall situation, they monitor work place
environment and then take effective action.
Furthermore, it has been summarized that by providing equal rights to female leader
within hotel just like male workers administration spread equality all around the area that
enhance motivational and productivity level of existing as well as new staff rather than before.
By following and implementing recommended activities Marriot hotel overcome workplace
discrimination issue that build its positive brand image within hospitality industry as it help them
to retain skilled applicants for long period.
Recommendation-
After analysis above discussion it has been examine that female leaders are not feeling
comfortable as they face a lot of barriers and issue related to discrimination at workplace that
directly affect its mental health (Gipson and et.al., 2017). Organization recommended adopting
different actions and cerate effective plans to reduce the negative impact of current issue in work
area-
To eliminate workplace discriminations negative impact on female leaders hotel must focus on
diversity as they need to create diverse work area where each and every one have right to share
their feeling and ideas in respect to business success.
Management must adhere to and comply with Equality Act 2010 principles which allow them to
offer fair and equal career growth opportunities to every workers either male or female leaders.

The most important thing that management within hotel can do is providing education; they must
cater inclusion and diversity training for staff members. It is essential that all applicants known
what constitutes racial discrimination.
