INTRODUCTION
Employability skills are designed to meet the needs of individual career and personal
goals. Employment skills generally help person at workplace to achieve the company set
objectives and goals and their own personal goals as well. To work in organisation, individual
need to have some set skills or knowledge to attract the employer in order to get the best position
in the company. It will outline importance of employability skills in maximizing sales & profit in
order to meet the agreed target and the purpose of the organisation.
Assignment will be explaining managerial responsibilities and performance objectives
and effectiveness against defined objectives. Moreover, study presents time management
strategies in relation to the work-based experience. On that behalf study also focuses on the
alternative ways in order to accomplish the work or team goals. Appropriate approaches and
strategies again very much necessary to resolve the employee labour issues within the
Travelodge.

1.1 Developing a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives.
Individual person should have skills or knowledge to their particular domain, that helps to
get the career opportunities (Baron, Mueller and Wolfe, 2016). Being as an Assistant Manager in
Travelodge Hotel here are some of my employability skills which is essential for effective
employment.
Own responsibilities & Performance objectives
Own responsibilities are the direct level of work in order to achieve the set objectives and
goals. Apart from that, there are given some responsibilities of being Assistant manager at
Travelodge Hotel (Bolden, 2016).
Responsibilities
Direct & Indirect relationship: Being as an Assistant manager, I am responsible to
maintained the good relationship with my employees, colleagues or other workers who work for
the company. This responsibility helps in maintaining long term relationship with employee
which also supports staff retention.

Decision making processes: I am also responsible to take decision making in order to
ensure company objectives and goals. For example, take decision of employee’s task, setting
long-term short-term objectives etc.
Employment legislations: In order to keep ethical work culture, this is my responsibility
to adopt all employment laws like Occupation health and safety, Equality Act, etc. to manage
ethical and safe working environment.
Employment rights: I focus on attaining advantage over employee rights to ensure the
healthy and safe workplace environment. Further, it is my responsibility to protect employment
rights within the workplace environment like share work culture, training, mentoring, etc.
Communicating with staff: Being as a Assistant manager it is my responsibility to
manage good relationship with other staff members. So that, it can help to manage work in
systematic manner. Good relation with staff helps to perform work with good quality.
Manage Time : It is a very big responsibility to manage work on time, it helps to
maintained the consistency of work and build new future opportunity and goals.
Performance objectives
My performance objectives are to learn about my strength & weaknesses for which I need
to focus by involving in training sessions.
Another objective is to improve interpersonal skills in order to manage interacting with
employee in Hotel.
Collaborate all employees, staff colleagues to make individual more attentive.
1.2 Evaluating the own effectiveness against defined objectives.
Individual has to evaluate their own individual effectiveness against the task assigned by
the company (Carter, Ruskin and Cassilles, 2017). It helps employees to known their own
development area. In order to evaluate own personal performance, employee needs to adopt
some systematic way such as given below:
As per the defined objective, I am well at communicating the goal into the business
functional level into the best goal performance. Moreover, as per the specified goals and
objectives I focus on continuous monitoring and tracking where I will make checklist and will
rank my objectives and improvements accordingly.

motivated by getting healthy working environment, neat and cleanliness. This theory should

through which employees can perform more better. Study discussed different roles and
