A brief description of Caltex Adelaide Company
The Caltex Adelaide Company is the chosen organization for the assignment to serve
the record on an understanding of human resources. In context to the chosen organization,
Caltex Adelaide is a lubricant manufacturing company situated in, Australia. The company is
known to be one of the largest petroleum and Oil Company in Australia that has 2 petroleum
refinery stations too. The company has maintained its 100 outlets in more than 50 countries
which have made them popular in global sectors.
Caltex has renowned its name as one of the popular convenience and fled company in
Australia is all due to its operations, direction set and strategy to work independently. In
accordance with the size of the company in terms of employees, they have more than 3,000
employees working in Australia.

Caltex Adelaide Company
Company has divided its employees in the category of two types that is with
reference to Atkinson's flexible firm model. The company has taken the flexible firm model
to distinct their employee's group according to their working and operational needs.
The Atkinson's flexible firm model divides the organization's employees into two
groups that are in the core and peripheral group.

In Atkinson's flexible firm model, the core group consists of primary employees that
are the company's internal workers as well as full-time workers who play an integral role in
organizations functionality. The employees that are distinguished in core groups are difficult
to replace all due to their high skills, experience, knowledge and their contribution to the
company's growth.
Caltex Adelaide Company has prepared its core group of employees to give them the
tasks and missions that can further help the company in its operations and to resolve the
issues in accordance with their employee's knowledge.

The peripheral group consists of secondary employees who are less experienced as

easily available in the labour market. Typically it means that such employees can be sourced
out in short notice too whenever a company needs an employee to do a particular task.
Caltex Adelaide Company has prepared its peripheral group of employees that can be
engaged with small tasks and fewer duties. The employee under this group also holds a

In this structure, the administration body plays a major role that looks in deciding the
marketing strategies and policies of the organization.
Functional structure:
In this part, the director’s executives and managers are involved that decides in which
area the employees are going to function according to their respective job roles. The
executives and managers also play a major role to handle the finances, customer’s services and
market analysis of the company.
Divisional area:
This part of the organization is involved with a supervisor that plays a major role in
