Introduction Understanding selfis a deeply psychological and yet methodological aspect that requires careful deliberation and consideration regarding the differentexperiences that an individual has had and then interpreting them from multiple aspects so that a comprehensive learning and understanding can be developed (Klose, 2019). Psychologybasically indicates the study of the mind of humans, their thinking, emotions and functions which affect their overall behaviour and general understanding and perception. Psychology is often used to understand and interpret how an individual thinks and what is the reason to do what they do (Strohminger, Knobe and Newman, 2017). These mainly help in understanding individuals and well one- self and there are various approaches or perspectives of psychology. Biological, psychodynamic, behavioural, cognitive and humanistic are some of the broadapproachesthatareusedandundereachapproach,themethodusedtodevelop understanding is different. Biological perspective declares that behind every feeling or behaviour is a biological cause that prompts an individual to behave in such manner. For instance, males with less testosterone constantly seek new partners. Psychodynamic approach indicates that childhood experiences impact the present thinking and behaviour of individuals significantly i.e. an individual with unloving parents will always seek love and belongingness from the other people who are unknown (Psychology Perspectives, 2015). The behavioural approach states that people are controlled by their environment and learn from the surrounding environments and hence these tend to affect their decisions and beliefs. For instance, classic conditioning example can be referred here where a dog who was conditioned to receive food whenever bell rings will salivate even if he is not receiving any food. Cognitive approach on the other hand states that the actions of people can be deciphered only by understanding that what is the thinking or how do they process different emotions in their minds. The last approach is the humanistic approach under which it is believed that every action of the individual is connected to the perceived self-image and inner feelings (Gilbert andet.al., 2017). For instance, an introvert will always be introspective about their own actions as well as what they think about other individual’s actions as well. There is however no single approach that can be classified as the best approach and in different situations, different approached can be used to understand the actions and behaviour of an individual.
This report will mainly delve into the evaluation of one- self and then reflecting that how an individual can develop themselves through reflective learning. The report will include the preparation of the three reflective journals where each will indicate and analyse three separate core skills that are necessary for an individual. Based on the analysis done, an action plan will be prepared accordingly where the three different areas that have been identified for further development will be illustrated and then the actions that will be adopted in order to develop such areas and the time taken will also be illustrated accordingly. A summary will also be included in the end of the report so that the major strengths and weaknesses of the individual can be presented accordingly. Time Management What is the core skill to develop? Time management skill is one of the core skills for different people including me, because this skill enough to a person for simply managing its precious time at any place. Many times, people not have well-developed time management skill, so that they are not able manage their respective time in effective manner for completing their different tasks (Darvill and Leigh, 2019).Thistimemanagementskillcanplayveryexcellentrolemeinmypersonal development. Basically, without developing time management skill, no person can develop its personality and professionalism. This is the main reason that, I should always be taken some productive steps for developing time management skill. Why did I select this skill to reflect on? Team working also a core skill to me and also for many other people as well. Basically, this skill support to a person for systematically working in a teamwork to achieve the decided target. A business or company can’t achieve its different targets on time without an effective teamwork. That’s why upper management within every business has always be focused on developing this skill inside their employees or workers. This is the main reason that I should also have the effective teamwork skill. With the help of well-developed team working skill, I will simply perform very well in a teamwork at any workplace.
