Qualitative and quantitative are two type of research types which are seen. Qualitative research is research which used to shown result in non numeric form and quantitative research type used to show data in numeric form. Scholar has used qualitative research type as it was getting tougher to present data in numeric form. Research Philosophy:Research philosophy is defined as a different belief about gathering and collecting data for the purpose of carry out outcome of research. Interpretivism and Positivism are two philosophies which are mainly used in the field of research. Scholar has used interpretive research philosophy to conduct this research in an organization. Research approach: Research approach is the process in which different assumption are made regarding different research process. Assumption are made in relation to the way data can be collected and interpreted to find out the outcome of the research. There are two types of 3
research approach i.e inductive and deductive research approach. Scholar mainly use deductive research approach as help in assess to new data by using primary data and for qualitative research type it provide crucial support as well. whereas Inductive approach help in examine the primary data and build new theory on the basis of outcome. In regards to current study inductive research philosophy has been used as it used to support the type of research approach selected. Data collection:Data collection used to play a very crucial role in achieving the objective of the research in better way. Data collection refers to process in which variety of different information is collected to find out the outcome of the project on the basis of same. Research has choice among two types of data collection method i.e primary and secondary data. When the data is collected for the first time then it is know as primary data collection tool. At the same time where any information collected from the source which have already collected data like magazine and newsletter know as secondary data collection method. In regards to the current research, scholar has gone with both primary as well as secondary data collection tool. Primary data will be collected by the way of conducting the survey which will be targeted on selected respondent. At the same time secondary data will be collected by the way of going through magazine and article related to topic of project. Data analysis: Data which have already collected have to be correctly interpreted and analyzed to get the required information. Data should be represented in the form of graphs and tables which make data in simplest form which can be understood by any individual. As a result scholar has selected thematic data analysis tool. Sampling:Process in which respondent is selected from the total population is know as sampling. It can be done in two ways i.e probabilistic and non-probabilistics. When each person has equal chance to select from total population known as probabilistic. Mainly random sampling method is used in this method. As out of total pool of 30 respondent 21 respondent has chosen the option of Training to employee. Remaining 5, 3 and 1 respondent has chosen the option of Clarity, Improvement in recruitment policy and all of above respectively.As per the literature review the reason which has driven different individual to select the same method is that, adopting the training culture will help the company in promoting better image of company in front of the other in the market. After that it has find that there is low level of workplace discrimination present at workplace but there is still some sort of workplace discrimination. After going through the report it has been recommended to the organization that they should invest some sort of the resources toward training this will eventually help the company in reducing the impact of workplace discrimination in the market hence it eventually means that training is the best way to manage the impact of workplace discrimination. Another recommendation which has been made for the organization is that organization has to make sure that their is good flow of communication in the organization, as their is still some employee who used to believe that their is workplace discrimination in Sainsbury. RESEARCH LIMITATION There were many limitations which was seen by the scholar in the process of carrying out research for the organization. The first limitation was the time allotted to complete the project was too limited. By taking help of colleague scholar was able to complete the project on time. Another issue was related to checking out the progress with the tutor but by taking meeting time, this issue was also solved by scholar in the market. 12
REFLECTION This project help me in gather more information and knowledge relating to the equality and diversity and gender discrimination . It was a good experience for me as it help me in learning more. With this research I was able to learn about formation of aims and objectives. I also learn that researcher can know in advance about the method they should use by listing all theresearchmethod.Also,thisreporthashelpedmeingettinginformationregarding information about the topic of the research. As in the past I was not having that sort of knowledge about the topic of the research in a long run.
