In the business there are various kinds of issues occurs which lead to hamper overall
smooth functioning of the firm. Due to this, the management unable to perform well in the
industry where it operates and done its economic activities. In the current study there are
responsible tourism contemporary issue is chosen which highly affects to the overall travel and
tourism industry in various kinds of positive as well as negative way (Spenceley, 2012). When
the management of company is highly and more responsible towards its duties and services
provided to the consumers then it easily able to attract high number of users. By this the travel
and tourism firm can generate and earn more sale and profit at the end of year. Responsible
tourism is an aspect or concept used in the travel and tourism industry of any country. According
to such contemporary issue the manager of company has to become more responsible towards
providing appropriate and effectual service to the potential consumers. In the present case study
there are is the Thomas Cook business entity is chosen which is operating in travel and tourism
sector and provide its hospitality services across the world (Caruana and et.al., 2014).With the
help of respective company issues related to responsible tourism are explained in highly effective
manner.
Being a manager at the workplace such as Thomas Cook my responsibility is that to
provide effectual hospitality services to the existing and new consumers and travellers. With I
am able to sustain and attract high number of users which lead to impact on business in positive
way in terms of economic condition. The responsible tourism includes mainly three criteria
which affects to the travel and tourism industry in positive and negative both way. The aspects
are such as socio cultural, economic as well as environment by which the industry affects in
various ways. Performing as a manager in the company Thomas Cook it is my responsibility to
make effective strategies which helps to business in order to reduce negative of such aspects and
enhance productivity of it. Furthermore, my responsibility towards the Thomas Cook is that to
minimise those factors which are impact on the company in negative manner. Various factors
which affects to the travel and tourism are such as social, economical and environmental by
which level of profitability affects in the industry. My responsibility in order to reduce and
eliminate negative impact of economic factors is that attract more number of consumers towards
it.
As a manager I need to provide high quality of services along with wide range of
facilities by which the customers will become more loyal towards the Thomas Cook. The firm

provides various travelling facilities to the users and along with this I have to offer
accommodation services as well. When there are all the facilities and services are provided by
the management then customers thinks about the Thomas Cook while taking decisions to go for a
tour. In context to this, as a manager I will arrange tour at the different destinations rather than
only one or two or limited. Various kinds of destinations where tour and travelling will be
arranged by me are such as natural, greenery, historical, spiritual etc. Due to this reason, every
age of customers will be attract in highly positive way which is one of the most benefit for the
travel and tourism in terms of enhancing economic conditions. Further, I will provide highly
attractive as well as profitable tour packages to the existing and potential consumers. I will
include more number of destinations in same amount of tour package by which more number of
tourists and travellers attract. By this level of customers and ultimately sales as well as yield will
be enhance. My responsibility towards the company is that reducing negative impacts and by
using such kind of tactics attract higher consumers which lead to increase profitability and
revenue of the firm in overall travel and tourism industry.
Moreover, while playing a role of manager in the travel and tourism firm like as Thomas
Cook I have responsibility is that to minimize and reduce negative impact of social factors. By
this local community of the country not affected and they will not adopt dressing and life style of
foreigners. When there are more number of tourists then people of that country try to use and
adopt various aspects of them (Manente, Minghetti and Mingotto, 2012). Further, it is key
responsibility of my to use and employ different strategies by which local community will not
lose their culture and adopt another. In reference to this I will involve people of the country
while taking decisions by which I able to know their ideas and opinion regarding reducing such
impacts. Due to involving them they give their ideas that which are the reasons by which their
life styles, dressings etc. gets hamper. Hence, I will be highly able to overcome and eliminate
such social influences which lead to create positive and better image in eyes of local community
and travel and tourism sector both. In context to responsible tourism I have another responsibility
is that to protect environment and make rules and regulations for that. Due to this beauty of
environment will become highly attractive and consumers enhance towards that. I will make the
rules that no one can pluck flowers, split on way, use dustbins etc. which helps to make the
environment very clean as well as attractive.
