Task 1
1.1 Concepts of health, disability, and illness and behaviour about users of health and
social:
Various terms and notions are attached with social and health care service. Social and
medical service providers should clearly understand the different types of concepts linking to
the health and social care. Health and social care employees should do their work in a right
way by making out all the concepts of health and social care. Health and social care service
providers including with doctors, nurses like different types of social workers should make
conscious about the terms and conditions and help to make the behaviour of a patient party in
a target and positive manner. The aims of health and social care service should be affected by
the misunderstandings and misconceptions of the concepts of illness, disability, behaviour
and health. The conceptions of disability, illness, behaviour and disability are described here
concerning the help of the patient and their family who come to take service for their any
family member.
Health: health means naturally physical and mental total well-being of an individual. World
Health Organization describes health as a condition of a human being in which has not only
the nonexistence of infirmity or disease but also a state of complete mental, social and
physical well-being. The whole good feeling without the presence of any disease is
considered as a good health and who is in this type of health condition can be mentioned as a
healthy person.
Disability: the persons have disability having long-term mental, physical or intellectual
problems that can make barriers for them ineffective and full participation with others. Those
people need interventions to overcome social and environmental obstacles.

Illness: disease may differ from one another as per their personal emotion and perception.
The idea of disease helps to diagnose sickness and illness. Illness behaviour is a manner in
that people observe their bodies, interpret and define their symptoms and take remedial
activities.

The globe is growing towards the latest world by the advancement of technology. As the
beliefs, needs and values are changing gradually, the concepts of particular necessities have
also changed. If people does not fulfil their needs, they may be vulnerable to harm,
deprivation, abuse, exploitation and violation. These type of individuals can be harmful to the
society. These important and life-threatening result can effect on their psychological and
mental health and may have a severe impact to enter their collective human rights.
Sometimes, persons who have specific needs cannot access to the essential communication
channel through that they could know about their needs. It also may be that these individuals
are unable to converse due to disability, fear or stigma, age, etc. When they have no
protection and assistance what they need, they may be incapable of voicing their complaint.
The concepts of the particular necessities may have changed for some reasons, such as the
changing trends and social customs have changed the concepts of the individual needs of
people suggestively. The conceptions of special needs have been made changeable by the
philosophical alteration of the characters.

Social policy, legislation, culture and society impacts on the facilities which are available for
the social and health care patients with particular needs. Many factors make the atmosphere
