Introduction
Human resource management is an important parameter in the business, which caters
to the management of the performance exerted by the human resources, that is, the
employees. Tracking the performance of the staffs is assistance for estimating the nature of
the business in the upcoming financial years. The managerial role is crucial for empowering
the employees towards professionalism. The competencies and capabilities of the managers is
enhanced if the staffs are briefed about the importance of self-evaluation and self-awareness
(Grit 2019). The more the exercises of the self-awareness are conducted, the more is the
upgradation in the standards and quality of the performance. This assignment attempts to
conduct a personal development plan and propose a reflective journal and commentary on the
current skills, abilities and competencies along with the future implications.
Discussion
Self-profile
I take pride in stating that I have completed my A levels from Froebels International
School. Currently, I am pursuing second year BSc in Accounting and Finance from
University of Bedfordshire. In school, I was a hardworking student, where my academic
skills, abilities and competencies got a stable platform for expansion and upgradation. The
professors are to be thanked for producing their best cooperation. Their patient approach
towards my queries and concerns helped me to produce the assignments according to the
requirements. Getting admitted in the school, I gained confidence towards accepting
challenges. The school provided me with a congenial learning environment.
It was due to the efforts of the high school professors that I could pass out with flying
colours and transcend into the university. From the diversified courses, I selected the course
of Accounting and Finance with the help, guidance and support of the seniors. For entering

into the course, I had to struggle a lot. According to the criterions developed by UCAS, I
have gained information that at least 80 points with 64 points from 2A level passes at C level
are required. The trainings helped me to gain a deeper insight into the basic accounting
functions, which plays an important role in the business operations. Along with this, I am
getting the training on usage of the latest technologies, which I think enhances my virtual
learning skills, abilities and competencies. The subjects, which I am learning under
accountancy and finance are taxation, auditing and financial management. The duration of the
course is 3 years, in which I hope that I would gain a professional qualification in
accountancy.
In the duration of the course, I am liable for unseen tests, assessments and
examinations, which would help the professors in assessing my capability in making practical
application of the learnt skills in executing the assigned projects and assignments. The format
of the tests varies at each of the levels. As a matter of specification, I can mention about the
online objective tests and multi-task examinations, where I scored 7.5 out of 10. In the multi-
task questions, my score was not that productive, as I failed to assimilate the collected
information into the questions. Indulging in this course has helped me to gain transferrable
skills, which I feel is crucial for reducing the knowledge gaps. I can make mention of the
group discussions, which expanded the scope and arena of thinking skills and judgmental
capabilities.
As a matter of specification, the course has helped me to produce precise written
reports, which has enhanced the capability of thinking and imaginative skills in terms of
producing the thoughts, feelings and emotions. I undertook personality tests, which helped
me to gain control over my emotions in the situations, to which I am exposed. I have learned
the basic three stages of application, analysis, appraisal and synthesis for producing the
results according to the requirements. At the end of the course, there would be capstone
