1COMMUNICATION Communication is an art of transmission of a message from one person to another. Communication has different forms, it can be either direct or indirect (Stiff& Mongeau, 2016). The aim of the paper is to reflect on personal communication style with others and it also includes areas of improvement. How well do you communicate with others? The best approach used by me for communicating with others is to be open and truthful. I mostly choose transparency in the information conveyed by me and I also make sure that my way of communication should not deliver double meaning to the listener. When I am at home, I communicate in an informal and friendly tone. When I am outside, I show a bit more of confidence in my voice and also make sure that my volume has clarity and my message has empathy in it. I generally like to maintain eye contact while talking because it indicates self- confidence and makes the person on the other side of the communication feel that I am interested in the communication process. Because I feel an effective and clear communication helps in maintaining relationships and also resolve conflicts between two person and group. Areas of improvement The area where I feel that I should improve is to speak in front of the large audience. This is the condition where I sometimes lack confidence and become nervous. Being informal at home works but when you are in college or office, we should know the ethics of communicating well.Developingmyspeakingcapabilityinfrontofhugeaudienceespeciallyduring presentations will help me in my career as well. I can improve myself in this area by developing new skills like to work on my vocabulary skills and train myself to speak fluently and confidently in front of others. Enhancing my communication skill and removing the fear of
2COMMUNICATION hesitating in front of large audience will not only help me gain success in professional life but also make me grow as a responsible person. Also sometimes I lack in listening skills because I have a habit of interrupting in between the conversation. Therefore, improving all these skills will help me a lot in my personal as well as professional life.
