The article discusses about the causes and the consequences of child obesity. Childhood
obesity is continuously increasing and reached great levels in developed nation’s and also
developing nations. Moreover childhood obesity has a major impact on both psychological and
physical health of a child. Moreover there is common tendency of the obese children
remaining obese even when they reach their adulthood and therefore they become more
vulnerable to communicable disease such as cardiovascular diseases and diabetes at a young
age. There are numerous reasons behind child obesity. Some of these reasons includes-
lifestyle preferences of a child, environmental factors, and also the cultural environment plays
a major role in developing child obesity. Some of the most common reasons of overweight and
child obesity includes increased amount of sugar intake and also calories. It has also been
understood from the paper, that the rates of child obesity is continually increasing because of
increased sugar intake in form of soft drinks, decline in the physical activity and also due to
increasing portion sizes. Moreover it has been seen that childhood obesity leads to negative
