INTRODUCTION
Overview of study
Gender equality is related to provide equal opportunities to all individuals regardless their
gender. It makes sure to that both men and women are treated equally at work place by providing
similar opportunities of growth and success. In present time, gender equality is important for
maintaining positive environment at work place where all the employees have equal right to
present their opinion, view points and suggestions for making improvement. Job satisfaction is
another aspect for gaining higher productivity and profitability (Pandey and Asthana, 2017). It is
crucial to provide higher job satisfaction to employees so that they get motivated towards
organization. It is vital for each & every company to ensure equality at work place with an aim to
remove biasness so that all the employees get higher job satisfaction. Here, satisfied work force
also likely to work with their full potential for ensuring growth of organization. For this,
organizations undertake a lot of strategies so that work force get satisfied as it is also vital for
minimizing conflicts at work place. If, employees are satisfied with company then they are more
likely to stay there for longer run. For this regard, managers adopt ample of strategies in order to
maintain equality and job satisfaction within business entity. The present report is based on
gender equality and job satisfaction within hospitality industry. Now, hospitality industry plays a
crucial role in generating employment so that it is important to maintain gender equality and
higher level of employee satisfaction for ensuring long term growth and success of business. The
report also based on identifying ways for gaining gender equality and improving job satisfaction
within company. Further, there is an appropriate research methodology have also been included
in the following report. Lastly, it comprises some necessary recommendations for making further
improvement.
Overview of company
Premier Inn is considered for the current report which is a well known company of
hospitality industry. It is hotel chain and one of the renowned hospitality brands in UK which
was founded in 1987. The hotel is headquartered in England and has been expanded business
within different countries overtime. It has nearly 800 hotels across the globe serving international
audience. It operates at different location such as airports, city center and so on. Apart from this,

the organization has more than 45000 skilled work forces across the globe which is essential for
attaining growth and success of organization.
Research aim:
To identify the impact of gender equality and job satisfaction on employee performance
within hospitality industry. A study of Premier Inn hotel in UK.
Research Objectives:
To identify the importance of gender equality and job satisfaction in hospitality industry.
To determine the ways used by Premier Inn hotel to promote gender equality within an
organization.
To examine the strategies adopted by Premier Inn hotel for providing job satisfaction to
employees in an organization.
To explore the relationship between gender equality and job satisfaction in improving
performance of employees within an organization.

Rationale of Study
In present time, equality is really important within company as it helps in minimizing
conflicts at work place. In equality, equal opportunities are provide to each and every employee
whether men or women (Baeza, Gonzalez and Wang, 2018). In addition, job satisfaction is also
vital to encourage employees to work with their full efficiency & productivity. The main aim of
present report is to analyze the impact of gender equality and job satisfaction on performance of
employees within organization. With this, researcher will be able to prepare appropriate
strategies in order to enhance job satisfaction of work force in company. This vast knowledge is
helpful in performing job roles and responsibilities at work place in an efficient manner. The

research will make researcher enable to get growth opportunities for career enrichment and
enhancement in future. By this way, researcher has opportunity to grow in terms of personal as
well as professional career.
Literature Review
It is defined as an important section of investigation that assist researcher in pulling out
favourable result within specific time period. It is analyzed that literature review section can be
analyzed properly and here researcher basically take assistance from previously done research by
professionals (Agarwal and Sajid, 2017). In addition to this, it can be said that literature review
section assist in analyzing those areas that remains untouched bye researchers. It also help
investigator to know the research gap in an effective manner.
Identify the importance of gender equality and job satisfaction in hospitality industry
According to the view point of Swan, (2016), it is monitored that gender equality is
related to provide equal opportunity to all individuals without considering their gender. In this,
equal access of rewards, recognition is given to each and every staff member. Gender equality is
crucial as it helps in retaining employees for longer run which provides huge competitive edge to
company. If company equally treats all the employees it formulated positive image of brand at
market place. With this, organization can retain top talented employees who will work for
growth and success of business. Besides this, diversity & inclusion has association with
enhancing corporate performance of individuals and stimulating economic growth at the same
time.
According to Luo, (2016), Job satisfaction demonstrates view points, opinions of employees for
a company which shows whether they like to work with the organization or not. It is an attitude
of individuals towards organization which made with working condition, payment, supervisions,
relationship with managers and colleagues and more. Major benefit of job satisfaction is to retain
work force for longer duration by maintaining positive image of brand in market. Satisfied
employees are more likely to work in an efficient manner so that organization can accomplish
predefined objectives (Alessandri, Borgogni and Latham, 2017). If, individuals are satisfied then
they are likely to put more efforts for benefit of company which will drive higher sales &
revenue for further betterment. Here, enhancement in sales & revenue will strengthen the image
of entity in market place which is helpful in gaining higher competitive edge.

Strategies adopted by Premier Inn for providing job satisfaction to the employees
Premier Inn is the largest hotel brand in UK which is operating across the globe and become
successful with the collaboration of all the employees. According to Nikki Gilliland (2017),
Employee satisfaction has a big hand in making the organization building the strength. The
employees are considered to be the assets of the organisation and to make them work and the
satisfaction from their jobs, the organisation user strategies for the employee engagement.
According to Whitebread (2020), Premier Inn encourage their employees with providing
recognition and awards in the form of bonuses, best performer award, national and local
incentive schemes and so on. Along with this, they also provide on job training which help some
developing though skills which is required in the organisation as well as support the well being
of employees and their family members which is in the form of covering healthcare schemes (Al-
Sada, Al-Esmael and Faisal, 2017). These strategies will not only help in increasing the
productivity of Premier Inn but also maintain the employee engagement which includes the job
satisfaction and the experience of the employees in the organisation. The hospitality industry
makes sure about their employees and providing benefits to them. The perks of working in a
hospitality industry are attractive in which the employees get free meals at the very discounted
price, discounted travel along with the tips and bonuses. The employee satisfaction is important
for an organisation as it make sure that the organisation is able to make high revenues.
Relationship between gender equality and job satisfaction for improving performance of the
employees
Gender equality in an organisation entails ensure that woman must have equal rights and are
valued equally to men for the same amount of work along with the same wages. According to
Cristiano Perugini (2019), The women in an organisation face worse working condition such as
getting lower opportunities for promotion, discrimination at the workplace which is the main
reason for unsatisfactory performance, though the relationship between gender equality and job
satisfaction are rare and descriptive. In regards to this, many organisations have been identifying
the relationship between job satisfaction and gender equality and it has been found that the
gender gap is the problem (Baeza, Gonzalez and Wang, 2018). The gender gap is the gap
between the wages provided to the men and women. This gender gap creates impact on the job
satisfaction of many employees. Gender equality and the organisation is very much important
and create opportunity for the employees expectations on job satisfaction. The organisation

make sure to treat their employees equally so that they can work well in achieving the goals of
the organisation as well as organization also provide different benefits for them to maintain the
employee engagement. Both gender equality and job performance has a relation is this in every
industry. The organisation make sure that both men and women are able to enjoy the same rights,
opportunities, protections and resources so that they are able to give their best in the organisation
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
It is one of the important aspect of an investigation that help in collecting appropriate
information about the impact of gender equality and job satisfaction on performance of
employees prevailing at workplace. One of the main purpose of research methodology section is
together valid information or data about topic (Bailey, Albassami and Al-Meshal, 2016). For
identifying effective approaches for present study, research onion framework is adopted by
investigator. This framework involve many layers which are as follows:
Research philosophy: There are mainly two forms of research philosophy that is
interpretivism and positivism. it is stated that both this forms of philosophes are important for
identifying the impact of job satisfaction and gender equality on performance of employees. For
conducting the study, positivism research philosophy is appropriate as it help in collection as
well as evaluation of data which is in quantitative manner. Along with this, it is determined that
interpretivism philosophy consume less time and resources of researcher. On the other hand,
positivism research philosophy is not appropriate for present investigation as it consist of high
time and resources.
Research approach: The two types of research approaches are deductive and inductive research.
For the present study, deductive research approach is used by researcher. It is determined that
using of this approach help researcher to analyze information which is quantitative in nature and
allow to evaluate data in an effective manner (Charoensukmongkol and et. al., 2016). On
contrary, inductive approach is not useful as it collect data which is in qualitative form. Thus,
using of deductive research approach is effective and beneficial for research in order to achieve
objectives.
Research strategy: There are various forms of research strategies that is qualitative survey,
quantitative survey, case study, action oriented and many more. All this research strategies are
important but as per the topic, quantitative research survey will be adopted by researcher as it

provide reliable and accurate data about the topic. In addition to this, it also help researcher to
draw valid and reliable conclusion in a timely and effective manner.
Research choice: The two forms of research choice are qualitative and quantitative. In addition
to this, both research choices are significant but to analyze the impact of gender equality and job
satisfaction on employee performance, quantitative research will be adopted by investigator
(Hwang and Ramadoss, 2017). One of the main reason to use this as a research choice is it is
based on facts and figures due to which effective results is gained in a proper manner.
Data sources: There are mainly two types of data sources that is primary and secondary.
The information that is collected for the first time and is original in nature is primary data
collection. On the other hand, secondary information is already collected by professionals and is
easily available to researchers. For the present study, primary data sources used by researcher.
One of the main reason to use primary source as it help in gaining in depth knowledge about the
topic due to which research objectives can be attained timely. For this, a questionnaire is
developed by researcher as per the topic in order to collect primary data in an effective manner.
On the other side, secondary information is collected through journals, books, articles and other
aspects that help researcher to analyze the research gap in a proper manner.
Sampling: It is define as a process to select number of participants in order to collect
information for the present study. There are mainly two types of sampling method that is
probability as well as non probability sampling techniques (Jang and et. al., 2017). For the
present report, probability sampling method is used. Random sampling, which is a type of
probability sampling is applied as it help in selecting participants randomly without any biasness.
In addition to this, it also help researcher to select large sample size for conducting the study and
get proper and valid information. For this, 40 employees of Premier Inn is selected as
respondents that help in gaining information which is asked in questionnaire. It also help
researcher to gain appropriate information about the impact of gender equality and job
satisfaction on performance of employees within an Organization.
Research instrument: It is undertaken as one of the important aspect for conducting the
study. The various form of research instruments such as questionnaire, interview, observation
and so on. For the present study, questionnaire is taken into consideration by researcher. One of
the main reasons to use this as a research instrument is it helps to accumulate valid and reliable
data about the topic. It also identify as effective process as well as techniques for which
