Project descriptionAusEd givesdistanceschoolingtocollege studentsthroughoutthe world. Thestudentscomefromfarawayareas of Australia, New Guinea and the South Pacific Islands. Currently, theemployerisrestrictedto distancelearningwithcollege studentshowevernowitneedstoamplifyitsreachwith communities, industries, etc. With theincreaseinthequantityof registeredstudentsand scaling its operations, thecorporationis planningtoimproveitspresent day infrastructure.Purpose and scope of the problem Thecollegeissearchingfor asolutionwhich issturdyand scalable inclose to future. Alongwith this, it isadditionallymaking its footprints infar flungareas so that distance-learningcollege studentsstayin contact with thecollege24x7. As given in the casestudy, number of newregistered college studentsisgrowingwitheachpassing day, thecollegedoesno longerfavoura bottleneck in its operations. Also, giventhatthecollegeis a non-for-profit organization, thepriceshas to bestoredminimal. Theproposedsolution ought tostayreachableto allcustomersirrespective of their location.System DescriptionAccording to (Xu, Huang, Wang & Heales, 2014), e-learning based organizations havestarted using cloud based services at a huge rate. In AusEd. Case, the proposed solution aidsin efficient resource utilization which are available for its implementation and in providing aplatform for streamlining the education operations for the education. The solution shall takecare of the scalability and reliability of the operations. The proposed solution had alreadybeen taken many educational institutions which are providing both physical and onlinemedium to the end users. They are using private and public cloud as it’s a widely adaptedsolution. In this approach, public cloud is managed by the respective cloud service providers. On the other hand, private cloud will be fully controlled by the college and its staff that isadministration will itself manage the user authentication, resources, applications along withthe services provided by the end-users. The main idea behind the private cloud deployment is

that current infrastructure of college can also be included in the new solution. In addition tothis, private cloud also helps in conducting educational operations efficiently and alsostreamlining the integration of cloud structure in a case where there is both physical andonline communication with the user. However, there is a challenge in this approach that isnetwork has to be maintained for effective use of cloud model.Proposed solution A cloud based network for an e-learning cum offline medium as stated in the last section, requires a robust IT infrastructure at the college. This will facilitate in providing anuninterrupted and solid e-learning system to all the end-users such as faculty, students, college management and staffs (Antonopoulos and Gillam, 2017). The proposed solution should provide 24x7 reliability hence the infrastructure should havefollowing features: scalability, reliability and availability. This shows that cloud basednetwork is the best option for academic operations.
