Introduction
Academic integrity refers to moral code or ethical policy in an academia. The
said policy defines the way in which an individual should perform suitable actions in
respect to attain desired results of learning. In addition to this, provided concept
regulates better course of actions to be governed in a learning institute (Bretag,
2020). The given report document will reflect on concepts of academic integrity and
its relative importance. In addition to this, implications of academic misconduct will
also be bring to light. Furthermore, reflections over several skill development through
encountering with various difficulties or challenges encountered to develop game for
assessment 2 will be taken into consideration (Abbott and Nininger, 2021).

An Introduction including a description of Academic Integrity
Academic integrity refers to moral code of conduct to be followed by an
individual learner in respect to coordinate with university guidelines and relative
policies. The stated term was popularized by the late Don McCabe who is still also
considered as grandfather of academic integrity. The description of academic
integrity is an inclusive of putting those values into practice by being honest,
responsibility and fairness in respect to regulate operations in university.
In other words, academic integrity is the commitment as well as
demonstration of moral behavior and honesty for an academic setting. The stated
terms is most relevant term for which university operations are being regulated and
also is inclusive of providing credit to individual's new ideas and thoughts being
presented by an individual (Chauhan and et. al., 2018).
A discussion of the importance of academic integrity in higher
education
The term academic integrity presents personal as well as professional
character of an individual being engaged in learning activities. This derives with
characteristics of an individual relating to morals and credibility of an individual when

Better learning: Through academic integrity an individual learner seeking for
effective learning through honestly performing project task can initiate better
learning. Being under process efforts of an individual learner is being guided
through the manner for which proper understandings and tasks can be
completed in the set period of time with appropriate standards.
Motivation: This elements enables effective motivation to individual as when
complying to academic standards and ensuring right credit to an individual for
dedicated work being done in the project (Curtis and et. al., 2018).
Importance for university University standards: The process of academic misconduct provides a
critical pathways for an individual which displays effective university
standards. In inclusive of the approach set of transparent path are being
established for which goodwill of the university can also be protected.
Avoids misconduct: Academic integrity protects regulation of university
activities and ensures performing of each task allotted to individual learner in
respect to protect misconduct. Plagiarism is the most common academic
misconduct which is practiced by students which can be clarified under
academic integrity and protected for their proper functioning (Dixon and
George, 2020).
Importance for new ideas New learning: Through practice of academic integrity an individual can
develop basis of new learning for which could be resultant for motivation
being gained through the source. Under the technique, it aids towards
creation of new ideas and thoughts for which creative as well as innovative
approaches can be adopted by a learner to consider approaching to a project
work.
Real credit: In inclusive of academic integrity an individual gets real credit for
the work done. Being in the process several factors are being examined for
which a student gets differentiation of tasks to be produced by an individual.
Furthermore, it can be said that, being engaged in academic integrity an
individual learner gets liability of work which is being submitted and ensure
about any defaults relating to misconduct case is to be considered (Lancaster,

Discuss the implications of academic misconduct
Under academic integrity, misconduct is an inclusive concept with relates to
any unwanted or relative practices being followed by an individual learner for
completion of project work. The most obvious consequence of academic misconduct
includes, penalties which is imposed by university on offending student. There are
several other implications of academic misconduct being imposed by various
universities, these can be classified as follows;
Social consequences
In evaluation of social consequence of academic misconduct or generally
called as cheating is an inclusive of habit making which sometimes also leads to
harness the learning environment of several associated individuals. This further
creates an impact on individuals while they perform other activities in their personal
life. As in the process, an individual develops mindset for which attitude of adopting
practices of cheating originates and forms as an effective basis of getting away with
hard or crucial learning activities at ease (McCarthy, 2019).
Legal consequences
For the times when university engages a particular project of an individual that
is sponsored by any external. These could serve as greatest opportunity for learning
as they get in contact with external parties like, agencies, government, businesses
etc. and develop a project report in respect to exploring real life problems. In the
process being when an individual adopts such bad practices that breaks academic
integrity resulting in misconduct can lead to serious actions against offensive
students. Furthermore, this will not only ruin image of university but will also lead to
loss of opportunity for particular offensive learner.
Student's self-esteem
Students who practices misconduct and somehow get away with it will
possibly feel guilt or suffer low self-esteem in future. It could be the result of stress
and depression development as due to lack of knowledge and understandings in
regards to job activities. Further, this could have its diverse impact on failure of plans
and could result in serious societal and personal ramifications (Pàmies, Valverde
and Cross, 2020).

Difficulties are often unavoidable but serves as an important part of learning
process for an individual learner. Such difficulties when being explored to
development of personal or professional skill reflects in favor of the argument. The
term confusion and related difficulties are most common which forms part while
engaging with learning process of an individual. This speaks a strong hold over
ability of an individual in respect to learn what is taught in class and eagerness to
promote self-development in accordance to approach to desired career path of an
individual.
In context of developing a game for assessment 2, there were several steps
which were taken in respect to develop the game. Determining purpose of game: For the foremost stage purpose of game
was being determined. In respect to this, as the game was supposed to
derive basis of academic integrity, therefore, game for “Plagiarism” was being
developed. The purpose of the game was set in respect to detect any sort of
similarity being recognized over previous student paper or internet paper. Practicing the game: In inclusive of the game, various set of activities were
being arranged for which core value of understandings related to game was
being evaluated. Being in the process several question and answering rounds
were being arranged for which analysis were being set as per delivering
desirable standards for maintaining academic integrity for the work done. Evaluation on progress: In this stage evaluations in respect to progress of
development of game was being focused. For the stated stage key
considerations were being established in respect engagement of students
with the relative learning and also seeks for delivering effective content levels
being demanded over projects being given by learning institute. Analysis: For the analysis of the stage, critical analysis are being made in
respect to results so obtained from the game development. For this an
individual develops better understandings in respect to seeking for knowledge
area and core development in learning areas.
Performing modifications: For the given stage required modifications are
being initiated in respect to evaluation and analysis being done in previous

stages. In its inclusion, game will be produced as the required or desired
standards and will correlate to completion of desired goals and objectives
(Raibagkar, 2021).
There were several difficulties which was encountered during the course of
producing the game, these are; Lack of experience: The foremost difficulties that was being faced while
approaching the development of game task relates to lack of experience.
Being under the process, I with my group were all inexperienced which
caused difficulties on taking a stand for the project work and lead to risk of
being unproductive in various activities being performed by individuals. Limited resources: In light to the fact that, resources are limited in nature,
therefore, it caused an issue of approaching to end goal or objective in a
productive manner. For inclusive of the process there were several
approaches under which sense of frustration was being build in respect to
managing such resources and working effectively.
Lack of professional skills: Due to lack of professional skills I faced various
difficulties. In its inclusion in respect to being new to various practical aspects
it became hard for me to relate aspects of theory and practical.
Reflect on the skills you have learned this academic year and those
emphasized in producing your game
Skill development is a process for which identification of skill gap in individual
learner in scope of a working area is being concentrated. Through the process being
there were several instance which lead to development of skill over performing each
activities associated with the project task allotted to students. Being in the process
there were several engagements being done as the task was being distributed
between the group members.
In the given process there were several skills that were being development as
being part of the project work. These included; Communication skills: Being engaged in the project work, I developed
variety of skill that related to communicating with individuals while being
engaged in an activity. This skill was developed in the course when referring
to performing of various activities while being engaged in project work.

Management skills: The stated skill relates to managing of work when being
in situations of high work-load. Through the process there were several
activities which enabled me with engagement with management skills. In the
process being through game development activity, there were various tasks
which were deemed to be an inclusive of managing of tasks which were
produced at the working site. Leadership skills: By initiating project there were several activities which
were being produced in respect to development of leadership skills. In the
process being there were several scenario on the basis of which a person
have to take a stand and provide clear instructions to group members about
approaching to the desired project goals and objectives.
Research skills: For the given skill, while being engaged in the process of
performing activities of project work. Through the process being I with my
group was being engaged in researching relevant secondary sources for
completion of the project work. Therefore, I took the stand for such work and
enables me to develop this skill (Taylor and Bicak, 2019).
Conclusion
From above analysis of the presented report document, it can be concluded
that, academic integrity plays a vital role in ensuring providing of appropriate learning
to individual learners. In addition to this, there were several concepts which were
being discussed in regards to academic misconduct and their relative consequence.
Furthermore, report paper explores critical reflection over development of skills
during the course of developing a game.
