Justice for Mr. Marcus: A Case of Murder and Business Fraud

This assignment revolves around the case of Mr. James, who murdered Mr. Marcus and committed business fraud by selling horse meat as beef. The case highlights the importance of justice and fair judgment for both the victims' families and customers. REFLECTIVE
According to personal analysis, I have identified that Honey and Mumford has
propounded unique style of learning which is supported by four different learning styles and
orientation. Some style which can be adopted for learning or gaining knowledge include
Theorist, Pragmatist, Activities and Reflector. I have analyses that, activists are those
individuals who learn by performing task. I have realized that this learning style is effective, as it
helps an individual in gaining practical experience and also assist person in examining their own
skills. By reading the Honey and Mumford Typology of learning, I have realised that people
have their own way or method of learning. I found that there are various process through which
knowledge can be gained such as brainstorming, problem solving, group discussion, puzzles,
competition and role play etc.I have also seen the Theorists; these are those learners who
believes in making decision on the basis of the hypothesis and different concepts. I have also
analyses that these people are more interested in developing the understanding about the several
theories , concepts etc. Such learners believes in Utilizing their knowledge in routine activities. I
perceive that models, ideas and truth with specific end goals to participate in the learning
process.
The learning activities is based on the following understanding about models, statics,
stories, quotes, background information and applying theoretical concepts. I have also analyses
that there are some people who use Pragmatists learning style for gaining knowledge. These
type of learner are the individuals who have the potential as well as knowledge about the way
several theories or models can be applied into practice in routine work or life. I have also seen
people with reflectors learning style. Reflectors are those people who learn by observing the
things surrounding them. By executing the depth research on learners I came to known that
Pragmatists is the most appropriate approach of the learning anatomy, as it is all about applying
knowledge into practice. I have High level of confidence due to which I can execute task in
effective manner by selecting the appropriate acquisition concept which is essential for gaining
the special information in relation to the project . As per my opinion, Reflector is also
appropriate approach of learning, as it includes watching and then viewing the things happening
in the surrounding.. Approaches of learning vary from one person to another, different people
have different learning potential.

I have analyzed that Reflectors are those learners who believe in gaining knowledge by
listening as well as sharing ideas, group discussions, look for meaning, investigation and
reviewing, think before executing plans or strategies. The unique quality of the one who has
adopted Reflector learning style are :
 They gather information from various sources
 They analyse situation from various point of views
 More fascinated about other people than in structures
 They have focus on process as well as quality of work than outcomes
While on the other hand this learning style have some limitation
 Disturbed easily
 Waste too much productive time
 Disappointment or unsuccessful action plans m,ay lead to demotivate in an individual
These learning approaches or styles change from person to person, every individual
have unique learning potential. I have executed several studies study respect to several learning
styles as well as methods. Basis on my analysis, I am attracted towards the reflectors learning
approach as I choose to learn and absorb information through listening and by sharing new ideas
in order to attain more knowledge about the field. (Polat, 2015).
DETAILED REPORT
The case happened with a car accident of Mr Marcus who was a celebrity chef in Queen
of Hearts located at Giggleshire. Marcus Donoghue was murdered by James Mountford
Warrington as it can be interpreted from the case sorted out by the cops. It can be analyzed that
Mr James has murdered Mr Marcus as he was having good image in the market and customers
were liked by him as he used to prepare tasty food and as such, they were pretty much satisfied
with exotic meals prepared by him (Deighton and et.al, 2018). On the other hand, it can be
interpreted from the case that Mr James is a local councillor and was also Mayor of Gigglestown
for almost five years. He has inherited property from his uncle and co-owns The Grey Goose, a
premier restaurant in Giggleshire. Earlier, he was having classic car showroom which he sold off
because, it was on the verge of becoming bankrupt. Thus, he sold the same so that it may not
become bankrupt. Then after he started his restaurant named The Grey Goose and was primarily

focusing on the restaurant in order to attain profits by selling meals to customers in the best
possible manner.
Moreover, it is analyzed from the investigation made by police is that Mr James was
suffering losses from the classic car showroom and thus, he sold the same as it was on the verge
of bankrupt. Furthermore, police investigated also that after Mr James has started his new
restaurant, he was not getting customers as most of them were attracted to Queen of Hearts
named restaurant in which Mr Marcus Donoghue was celebrity chef. Thus, more of the
consumers were attracted to Queen of Hearts and there was long queuing up to get taste of food
prepared by Mr Marcus and as such, more customers were attracted to the restaurant where Mr
Marcus was celebrity chef (Greeff and et.al, 2018).
Furthermore, it is cleared from the fact that Mr James was culprit as he was not getting
customer's attention and as such, it can be said that on the basis of low sales and minimum
customers as compared to Queen of Hearts restaurant, Mr James prepared trap to kill Mr Marcus
and as such, he murdered him. He did the same so that his business may run successfully as he
had no other option before him to inject sales through The Grey Goose and thus, he murdered
Mr Marcus so that all the customers may be diverted to his restaurant and business may flourish
in the best possible manner (Ishihara and et.al, 2018).
The police has investigated Mr Marcus wife, Mrs Jennifer Donoghue. The relationship
between both of them was not good as they used to fought and were not happy with each other.
It can be analyzed that Mr Marcus was not happy with Jennifer as he proposed her only when
she said she was pregnant. He had no other choice to marry her. On the night when murder was
taken place, Jennifer purports that she was not at home and was at her sister's home. Interview
made by police cleared that Davide Romano, who was Jennifer's sister boyfriend had repeatedly
contacted on the landline and as such, calls were made on consistent basis but nobody had
picked up the phone and answered it. Jennifer' was present at that time but did not answered the
calls. Thus, police did not come to conclusion as she had not answered any of the questions
quoted by cop (Taroc, Paculba, Tan and Maghanoy, 2018).
It can be analyzed that another reason which lead to murder of Mr Marcus was that he
knew Mr James has significant lowered the prices of meals and as such, quality of food was
lowered down as well. Thus, by cutting prices, The Grey Goose restaurant could earn profit.
Moreover, there was horse meat substituted in the beef which was against laws and regulation.

This was known by Mr Marcus and Mr James was feared whether he could be exposed by Mr
Marcus. He also feared that he might get in legal trouble and as such, he murdered him so that he
may not face any legal action if Marcus could have revealed the truth. This is evident from the
fact that DNA reports cleared that there was 99.99 % of horse meat observed. He mixed horse
meat and as such, customers were made fooled by him and thus, he had broken trade laws as
well. Thus, he feared that Mr Marcus could expose him and put him behind the bars (Sörberg
Wallin and et.al, 2018).
It can be further analyzed that he murdered Mr Marcus so that he may not ruined his
business and as such, The Grey Goose was last hope and if the same has been ruined, then the
family and home which he had preserved for years could be lost. Thus, it can be arrived at a
decision that Mr James has committed two crimes such as first he murdered Mr Marcus and
then, he broken the laws by substituting horse meat and fooled the customers. Hence, he should
be put behind the bars as he has committed serious crimes. Thus, Court should get on correct
judgment as Mr James is been revealed as the culprit. Thus, justice should be given to customers
and family of Mr Marcus and fair judgment should be provided (Beltran-Valls and et.al, 2018).
