INTRODUCTION
Child labour is a serious issue in World; it is a situation when children are being exploited to
do any form of work in respect of earning money. The Children put their life in dangerous and it
is harmful for their mental and physical development. Usually Children perform duties when
they are trapped in a cycle of unemployment and poverty (An and Chambon, 2017). Child labour
is caused due to many reasons such as poverty, unemployment, existing laws are often violated
or free education is limited. The report is based on the child labour in which arguments against
and for the use of child labour is discussed.
Arguments for the use of Child Labour in Supply chain
Need to address the issue of poverty before attempting to ban Child labour is one of the
point which must be considered by the government before banning the child labour. It is
important for the government to know about the issue of poverty as it helps in knowing the
reason behind making their children to work. Poverty is a situation when people have no income
to fulfil their basic needs. To accomplish the basic requirement children use to work so that they
can met their basic needs like food, shelter and clothing (Bourdillon and Carothers, 2019).
Mostly Children do work for earning money so that they can become source of income for their
family and fulfil their needs. Child labour is caused when family is not able to fulfil basic needs
and they require money to live their due to which Children start doing job in order to earn money
and support their family.
The businesses that employ child labour can also improve their lives by changing working
conditions and offering high pay and benefits such as access to education and development
opportunities. The Organisation on large scale having a high turnover on each year can support
children by offering them scholarship and paying their fees in School. If each business men who
run their company at large level provides free education to some children can help them to avail
the benefits of education by performing their job. Even Organisation can raise the salary of Child
labour so that they can fulfil their basic needs and support their family. It will be a great gesture
of businesses if they reduce the working hour of their Child labour and keep them away from
hazardous, harmful substances, chemicals and dangerous machines and equipments in order to
save their life (Frölich and Landmann, 2018).

If Child labour is ban it would affect the poor family as they suffer higher levels of
deprivation and breakup if their Children are unable to contribute to family income. The
Children earn so that they can contribute in their family income if they get banned for working in
Businesses it become so difficult for poor people to survive in the World. If the government is
banning Child labour they must also find alternative way for the poor families so that they can
live their life peacefully by fulfilling their basic needs (Olarreaga, Saiovici and Ugarte, 2020).
The Government must create a job opportunity for their family members before banning child
labour and provide them alternative source of income.
Arguments against the use of Child Labour
The Child labour exploit the human rights as it results in mental harm and death, it also lead
to sexual, slavery or economic exploitation. Child labour creates a great impact on the Children
as it cuts off from schooling, restricts their fundamental rights, influences their future and gets
poor health results. Human rights are the norms and principle for human behaviours, it also
depicts the right of people which includes the right to liberty and life, right to work or education,
freedom of opinions and expression, etc. If Children are doing work and they are minor it
exploits the human rights and has its own consequences.
When Children work in businesses it creates a great impact on their mental health as they
are forced to do work and pressurised to perform the duty. The Child labour is produce negative
influence on health due to which Children get depressed. Usually Children working in an
Organisation get mental abuse and physical abuse which leads to mental illness and puts the life
of the Children in dangerous mode (Thakurata, 2020). So it is important to ban the child labour
as it affects the mental health of Children and their family members also suffers a great loss of
their children health. The Children get depressed due to their family pressure of earning money
and workload given by Organisation. So Child labour must be banned in order to improve the
mental health of Children and also provide them an opportunity to go to school so that they can
earn in professional manner and accomplish their basic needs.
It is important for the Children to avail the education and it is one of the human rights which
must be fulfilled by Government. The Government must provide education to Children who used
to work on daily basis in respect of earning money as they do work because their family is not
able to afford the fees of Schools. It is the responsibility of government to provide free education
to children who are unable to pay their fees and also provide them jobs ones they finished their

Schooling (Progga and et. al., 2020). Education is the right of every child as it helps in raising
the living standard, well being and makes them able to raise their knowledge and skills in order
to support their family financially.
CONCLUSION
From the above information it is being concluded that child labour must be banned as it
affects the children mentally and physically. It also destroys the life of Children and also exploits
their Childhood. Child labour is caused due to many reasons it is important for the government to
analyse and find the reason behind Child labour. It is the result of many factors such as poverty,
lack of decent work opportunities for adolescents and adults, social norms or migration and
norms. Child labour is the consequence of social inequities which is reinforced by
discrimination.
