INTRODUCTION
Personal improvement signifies life and processes which determine different activity that
assists individual person to increase capability, skill and competency that provide facility to
achieve employability as well as quality. There is different formal as well as informal activity
that helps each individual person to improve the skill. In addition to training, there are various
methods techniques that provide support in achieving and providing support to positive
improvement of individual person in different level of company. There are various types of
academic skills that provide direction to individual person to become professional learner. The
personal development skills and confidence within individual person and provide facility to
increase engagement in competitive function without any kind of hesitation. In addition to this,
there is a proper strategy that is executed which involve proper action plan that is depend upon
value in particular field. In this report, the concept related to personal and professional
improvement, short, medium and long term goal is explained. In addition to personal
improvement plan and significance of objective of personal as well as professional improvement
of individual person is covered in this assignment (Ahmed and Ward, 2016).
TASK 1
Concept of personal and professional development
Personal development is evaluated as the business process that helps individual to engage
in the business processing related to learning activity so that goals can be achieved in the desired
time frame in planned manner in order to achieve business growth and success. There are various
skill and competency such as effective time management, leadership skill, stress management
and presentation skill that helps in attainment of set business goals, desired personal &
professional business goals and valuable objective. Personal development is evaluated as the
process of enhancing skill & mind set of employees for enhancement of quality of life. S
Development of personal skills are valuable in achieving set business goals through development
of effective planning tools that are related with the career tools as education, jobs etc. Personal
development enhances competencies & skill to develop quality in life. The personal development
plans are set for analysing the current business skills according to the future needs to achieve set
business goals.

Professional development helps in development of meaningful skills that helps in
enhancing knowledge to attain goals related to workplace with enthusiasm and efficiency. It
helps in analysing those areas that need development so gaining success. If the personal skills
are enhanced, then it results in achievement of set business objective for long time duration. The
skill is linked to different aspects such as mentoring, coaching and providing training to all the
members of the staff so they can enhance their current skills according to the set requirement.
Organisation offers training programmes so that business goals can be easily achieved for the
organisation in order to enhance their value at the work place (Ashenhurst, 2019).
Concept of short-term goals and three examples
The short term goals are those goals which an employee wants to achieve in the near
future. Goal setting helps in attainment of the set objective within the desired time duration with
effectiveness of achieving them in very short time period that can be within a year or might be in
less period of time as desired.
The successful attainment of the set goals boosts the spirit of working in an employee so
they can achieve their set business goals for attainment of the desired goals in an efficient
manner. Short term goals mainly work for filling the gap between the current situation at the
work place and the future goals in order to attain the desired outcomes in planned manner. There
are various short terms business goals which are set by an individual according to the set
finalised objective.
Examples of short-term goals
To develop time management skills in order to manage every task in desired manner and
achieving business objective.
To minimise the expenses so that monetary value can be saves.
Development of interpersonal skills as leadership, team spirit and communication.
Reduce work pressure to achieve task in desired manner.
Conception of medium-term goals as well as three personal examples
Medium term objective signifies specific goal as well as objective that are accomplished in time
period of 6 months or in 1 to 5 years respectively. The goal is achieved after the short term
objective is accomplished within sequential way. The appropriate achievement of this type of
short and long term objective provide facility to individual person to achieve long-term objective
