Introduction
Academic skills is known as the skills that help the individual to learn more and enhance
their skills in aspect of career which involves learning and independent learning. The academic
skills help in working with others through seminars, group work, etc. as well as include
management of tasks, problem solving, effective communications in form of oral as well as
written. Personal development plans help in attainment of the goals in a very easy and flexible
manner. The personal development plan is a plan for the enhancement of personal as well as
professional goals.
TASK 1
Explain the concept of personal and professional development.
Personal development can be referred to a well planned process of accomplishment of
goals. The Personal development plan allows the individual to accomplish the goals through the
various challenges in the academic as well as professional career. The personal development plan
has the main motive of accomplishment of the needs of an individual. The personal and
professional development plan has allowed the individual to increase their productivity as an
individual as well as at the workplace. The various skills that lead to the personal and
professional development of an individual are stress management, time management,
presentation of the topic, etc.
Explain the concept and significance of short term objectives by stating minimum three
examples.
The short term goal facilitates an individual to take the various necessary steps and bring
them into action in a very near future. These short term goals are most of the times small chunks
of the long term goals which are segmented in order to accomplish them in an easy and efficient
manner. The short term goals require lesser time for accomplishment and might act as a
preliminary step in order to accomplish the long term goals. The short term goals have its
significance in aspect of the individual. The examples of short term goals are as follows-
