CHAPTER 1- INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND
The global pandemic has resulted to many changes in the working arrangements of many
employees and it also affected the working scenario for the employees. It can be seen that all
employees have been working from home due to governmental regulations for safeguarding
employees and people from spreading the virus and working from home have influenced many
employees and their performance (Affandi and et.al, 2020). The project is based on the analysis
of impact on the employees who are working from home during the global pandemic, COVID-
19. The aim of the project is to identify the impact of work from home on employees mental and
physical health due to COVID-19.
Company overview
Tesco is multinational company which was founded by Jack Cohen in 1919 and the
company offers wide variety of grocery, clothing, books, furniture and other products. The
company is a public limited company which offered products through various platforms such as
offline stress and online channels (Dwivedi and et.al, 2020). As we know company is offering
products through online platforms through which they can meet customer demand. During the
global pandemic, Tesco provided work-from-home (WFH) to their employees.

To ascertain the ways that help to improve working ability of employees while working

CHAPTER 2- LITERATURE REVIEW
A literature review is a survey which is organized and conducted by following the
process of research. The prime motive of literature review is to collect valuable information and
gain knowledge about the specific topic which is covered in the report. By using data which have
been already collected, i.e. secondary data help to conduct the research effectively and efficiently
and accomplish the objectives and targets within the specified san of time.
What are negative impacts associated with situation of COVID-19?
The global pandemic has lead many companies to make their employees to work from
home through which they can stop spreading virus. Due to the social and economic impact of
COVID-19, it has created many impacts on employees which can been observed in their changed
behavior, attitude, willingness to participate in managerial activities and majorly on employee’s
performance. The global pandemic has adversely affected employees mental and physical health
ad it has also affected financial ability of employees (Fu and Shen, 2020). The decision making
ability, creativity, productivity have been affected which lead to poor performance of employees.
Furthermore, employees working at home during pandemic have also affected their focus and
concentration and now employees are more distracted and are unable to accomplish targets set by
the company. In relation to Tesco, the company have used many strategies through which they
can analyses the negative and adverse impact on their employees during the global pandemic and
they focused on analyzing the negative impact which is affecting their performance and
productivity.
What is the influence of COVID-19 on productivity of employees while working from
home?
Due to the global pandemic, all employees are working from home which have created an
impact on their performance and their productivity. The influence of working from home have
created both positive and negative impact on the performance of employees. Some of the
positive impact on employee productivity while working from home during pandemic are:
employees tend to be more creative and feel more satisfied from their jobs. The employees are
able to spend time with their families which helped to boost morale and encourage employees to
willing participate in managerial activities. There are many negative impact which have
influenced employee productivity while working from home dung COVID- 19, some of the
impact which can be observed are: job security of employees is at high risk which affected their
performance, ineffective decision making. There are many employees who faced many technical
issues which have affected their productivity and thus they were unable to perform their assigned
tasks and activities (Gualano and et.al, 2020). There are many impact which have been observed
by Tesco on their employee performance and productivity during the global pandemic, such as
demotivated staff members which lead to ineffective employee performance.
