Introduction
Tourism can be defined as process in which the individuals from one
place to another for any purpose whether business or personal. There
are various types of tourism such as Adventure tourism, Cultural
tourism, wildlife tourism and many more. The report will be on
adventure tourism and its related activities. Adventure tourism
involves movement of people from one location to another for doing
some adventurous activities like skydiving, hill climbing and scuba
diving(Abascal, 2019). The poster presentation has also covered the
Swot analysis of the tourism sector.
Understanding the World of Tourism
Types of Adventure
It can be mainly divided in two categories which are hard and soft. Both these
types are discussed below:
Hard Adventure: It can be defined as the activities which involves high level of
risk, advanced skills and need intense commitment. The examples of this type of
adventure are caving, trekking, rock climbing and mountain climbing. These
activities are very risky in nature as the risk of life is associated with these
adventures. The tourists are given proper guidance in relation to the activity and
professional guides are hired to accompany the visitors in their action(Fan, 2020).
Soft Adventure: It refers to the activities which possess a low level of risk. The
individuals doing these adventures require less commitment and very basic
beginning skills. An experience guide leads the tourists during their adventure for
the purpose of safety. The main activities are kayaking, hiking, camping and bag-
packing.
Key Providers
The main providers of these adventure tourism activities are local
suppliers, inbound tour operator, outbound tour operator,
customer located and travel agent wholesaler. All these providers
of tourism are very essential for the development and growth of
tourism sector in the world. There are various organisation's
which are involved in the tourism industry(Ferreira and Sousa,
2022). These promotes the tourism through various activities
such as promotion, advertisement and spreading awareness. The
major organisation's are United Nations World Tourism
Organisation and World Travel & Tourism Council. These bodies
try to promote the value of tourism in the growth and
development of any nation. The main purpose is to provide the
required support and leadership which will help in spreading
knowledge of the importance of tourism(GarcíaVillaverde, Elche
and MartinezPerez, 2020).
Destination and Activities
There are various tourists destinations which are famous for
adventure sports. These places provides a great experience to the
visitors in terms of thrill and excitement. The popular places in India
are Bir-Billing, Rishikesh, Ladakh and Har ki Doon Valley. The
tourists can perform various activities in this places like bungee
jumping, mountain biking, paragliding etc. It improves the image in
front of tourists which helps in attracting tourism from various parts
of the world. Apart of it, the the tourists can enjoy various other
entertainment activities which are organised by the travel companies.
The UK is having great quality of foods and beverages which is also
an essential factor in attracting a large number of tourists from all
over the world(Jaaron, Pham and Cogonon, 2021).

SWOT Analysis
Strengths:
The Adventure Tourism industry have skilled and efficient workers which are making the tourism
popular and famous among the world. The companies can utilize all its resources in order to increase
its revenues and profits(Sharma and Nayak, 2019).
The company is using the existing resources pretty well in the business which is helping in the
promotion of tourism. These resources are human resources, technology and other operational
resources.
Weaknesses:
Due to lack of employee's in this sector, the workload in the business negatively impacts the
performance of the business. The organisation also suffers huge losses sometimes due to the poor
management(Su, 2019).
Another problem for the companies is lack of support from other parties such as sponsors. which
sometimes lead to ineffectiveness in the business operations due to the lack of funds and investment.
Opportunities:
The adventure tourism companies can promote their business by using various events and
advertisements through digital marketing(Wegerer and Nadegger, 2020). This will help the
organisation in attracting a large number of tourists. This will ensure completion of all timely
functions and all the business objectives and targets.
The businesses should try to spread information regarding the adventure places where the visitors
can experience great level of excitement by participating in various activities. This will help in
increasing the customer base of the company in the market(Zhang and Smith, 2019).
Threats:
The biggest threat is lack of proper knowledge about the adventure sports and its travel destinations
among the people. This stops the people from coming to these tourists destinations.
Another threat is the issues related to time. The tourists do not able to get free time because of the
busy schedule nowadays.
Customer profile
It is related to organising the customers in a particular group or
team on the basis of their targets and characteristics. The main
basis are discussed below:
Hobbies: The adventure travel companies need to identify the
people who possess similar kind of hobbies relating to
adventure sports. This will help in categorising people in a
much more similar way(Macdonald and Wester, 2021).
Turnover: This factor is also very essential in creating a
customer profile. The companies which are involved in
adventure travel should need to analyse their turnover while
making these profiles. Since every company is running its
business in order to earn profit.
Goals and Motivation: Every travel company should prepare
the goals it wants to achieve from the business. These targets
will the organisation in motivating the tourists about the
importance of adventure tourism. It will help the company in
accomplishment of its objectives and goals.
Challenges: Adventure tourism companies faces a lot of
challenges in their business. The main challenge is climate
condition, covid-19 restrictions and various transportation
problems. All these issues make a huge impact on the tourism
sector and also on the whole economy(Mathijsen, 2019).
The Adventure tourism companies can easily targets their
customers profile by the analysis of these factors which are
discussed below:
Age: The people who are of the age group more than 20 can
enjoy the experience of adventure tourism. These people can be
identified by the organisation's and should be considered for
the purpose of various adventurous activities.
Location: The location of the tourists can be identified by the
companies in order to create a proper profile of customers.
Future Trends
These trends are predicted on the assumption that the
past changes are going to be helpful in determining the
future trends. The companies need to take into
consideration this analysis in order to make full use of
the future opportunities of business(Mkono and Hughes,
2020). The tourism organisation's needs to perform all
these activities which are discussed below in order to
become successful.
Developing effective transportation facilities for the
tourists which be help in travelling from one place to
another easily.
Ensuring the safety of the visitors by adopting various
practises and keeping all safety equipments in check. It
is considered an essential aspect in the adventure tourism

The travel companies need to provide best experience to
its customers in order to increase their sales and profits.
Best quality of foods and beverages should be given to
the tourists so that they appreciate the efforts of the
organisation.

consideration various aspects for the effective and efficient performance of the business. The above
presentation also includes the various activities and destinations which are included in adventure tourism.
