INTRODUCTION
 Airport's development strategy involves the planning,
designing and construction of terminals runways and
other ancillary facilities for the airlines to operate.
 The development of the airport also requires a very
huge amount of capital and anticipation of future
growth of airlines and passengers.
 The chosen Airport for this report is Heathrow airport
that is based in London and is responsible for
handling 80 million international passengers.
 This will provide the following knowledge and
understanding for strong comprehension of airports
and their evolution in influencing the finance,
performance and impacts of airports.

CURRENT FEATURES OF AIRPORT
London is one of the location which faces the most visits from the
tourist destination in the world. The reason Heathrow is one of the
busiest Airport in Europe. The current features of the Heathrow
Airport are,
 Public transportation between airport and the city is very easily
available. This includes transportation of different types such as,
train, metro and also buses.
 Good, affordable restaurants are present close to Heathrow so that
the passengers and their needs are fulfilled.
 This airport is also equipped with free Wi-Fi which is one of the
best feature to have in the current generation.
 Flight issues and delay which can be due to factors such as
weather, passengers and flight technical issues.

TRAFFIC FORECASTS
 For the airport's development plan of Heathrow
airport underpinning the traffic forecasts is very
important.
 The traffic forecast of Heathrow for 2022 was
62.8million passengers.
 Due to the decrease in the influence of Covid-19 the
number have been predicted to even go higher.
 However, Heathrow was also able to understand the
travel restrictions which are removed from all the
markets that we serve.
 For the management of the traffic that has been
forecasted this Airport is planning to introduce a new
baggage system for Terminal 2

ECONOMIC GROWTH PROSPECTS
 The economic growth prospects has had the following impacts on Heathrow on the
airport's development plan,
Sector and people :
 As the Covid-19 pandemic and its effects has been forecasted to get slowed down. The
aviation industry has been predicted to grow rapidly.
 Some recent estimation of success that the demand for the air transport will increase by
an average of 4.35 per annum.
 This increase in the demand will result in the more traffic in the Heathrow airport being
a positive aspect to the growth of the Airport development plan.
Value of Heathrow :
 The value of this airport is said to increase due to the new projects that are being
installed both inside and outside of the airport.

KEY ENVIRONMENTAL
CHALLENGES FOR HEATHROW
 The operations of the Heathrow airport results in certain
environmental challenges which are related to the expansion and
operations.
 The concerns related to the environment impacts the community
members and other stakeholders which are particularly concerned
with the health, property values and quality of life.
 Anticipated growth of the air travel has resulted in the significant
and complex environmental regulatory issues which are considered
to be the factors which affect the new requirements of the airport
operations.
 The operations of the Airport faces the environmental challenge of
GHG emissions noise pollution, land utilization, waste and
congestion

CONSULTATION AND APPROVAL CHALLENGES
FACED BY HEATHROW AIRPORT
 Hence, better communicational technology needs
to be used for being able to growth its chances of
overcoming the challenges which this airport
faces in the management of the consistency in
the airport operations.
 This airport needs to utilize new technologies in
order to bring efficiency to its baggage
management.
 This is the biggest concern in this airport which
is the reason due to which there is delay in the
time management.

CONCLUSION
 From the above project it can be concluded that Heathrow
airport needs to focus on introduction of new technologies
that can help it's to bring efficiency and also reduce the
impacts on environment.
 This project was able to analyze the different features,
challenges and elements of the airport development strategy.
 The focus of the management needs to be the development
of the strategies which affects the sequence of the airport
operations.
 The environmental challenges faced by this organization has
been explained by this project.
