P2 Research Methods
As commented by Parasuraman, Xin and Zou (2018), research need to focus on mainly two
approaches including quantitative and qualitative approaches. Research methods are utilized for
developing proper procedure to the study.
Quantitative research method
As mentioned by Nath (2018), it is a method that include collection of numerical data that
can be modified into statistics. It is utilized for quantifying opinions, behaviors and attitudes of
participants and generalize results from large set of population. Data collections are done with
the help of online or paper survey, observations and interviews. As stated by RameshBabu
(2017) quantitative method helps in gathering data in less time. Quantitative research has been
related to testing hypothesis derived from any theory. Participants might randomly assigned to
several treatments based on the research questions. The researcher might collect data and
information from participants based on situational characteristics and variables. Quantitative data
collection methods rely on random sampling and structured data gathering tools. A probability
sampling method deals with sampling which uses random selection from population (Sage and
Burgio 2018). The entire set of respondents is known as population. Therefore, for getting
appropriate results, sampling is done. In case of quantitative method, population is high in
number. Therefore, random sampling is required for getting as sample size over which analysis
can be done. Quantitative techniques incorporating study may help in responding to this
exploration question. Study survey can be utilized right now assessing effect of house router on
rest throughout the night. Review should be possible on particular restorative specialists and
survey can be given to them identified with the examination questions. The exploration questions
has been in setting of impact of house router on rest of a person. Consequently, close finished

inquiries can be remembered for the review poll identified with impact of house router on rest of
people. Medicinal specialists will be suitable respondents for this study as they are had practical
experience in this field and can give better responses to poll.
Survey: Surveys are popular method used for collecting primary data. When there is a
need of collecting data from a large sample, survey can be used for collecting data (Hardell
2018). Quantitative methods are numerical in nature and data can be statistically analyzed for
answering the research questions. Surveys are proper tools that helps in gathering data from
businesses, communities and groups. Surveys include questionnaires which include a set of
questions in order to resolve research questions. These questions need to be designed for
collecting statistical data from respondents. Questionnaires are cheap in cost and does not require
extra effort from the researcher to collect data and information. As argued by Narain (2017),
survey questionnaires are not able to collect in-depth data required in the research. Along with
this, the validity and reliability of collected data is not done properly as no tool can access the
truthfulness of respondents. So, survey is nit used in some of the cases as data gathering
instrument (Muntjir and Rahul 2019).
Interviews: As commented by Belyaev (2018), structured interview is a quantitative
method. It include set of questions that are preset. Interviews have been great way for obtaining
data from single and small number of respondents. Structured interview has been a part of
quantitative method as it might help in gathering statistical data.
In this case, the impact of house router on sleep over the night has been taken as research
questions. Quantitative methods including survey might help in answering this research question.
Survey questionnaire can be used in this research for evaluating impact of house router on sleep
over the night. Survey can be done on specialized medical doctors and questionnaire can be

provided to them related to the research questions (Hedendahl et al. 2017). The research
questions has been in context of effect of house router on sleep of an individual. Therefore,
close-ended questions can be comprised in survey questionnaire related to effect of house router
on sleep of individuals. Medical doctors will be appropriate respondents for this survey as they
are specialized in this field and can provide better answers to questionnaire (Noaman 2019).
Qualitative research method
Qualitative research method plays an important role in affecting evaluation for providing
data useful for considerate processes behind observed results. As commented by Miller et al.
(2019), qualitative methods are used for improving quality of survey based quantitative
evaluations with the help of generating evaluation hypothesis. Interviews tend to be open-ended
and include less structured protocols. This help in adding and refining more focus on the
researched issues. These are heavily interactive and depends on respondents for gathering in-
depth data and data connected to topic. Triangulation is used for increasing credibility of their
findings on multiple data collection methods for checking authenticity. As argued by Belpomme
et al. (2018), qualitative method needs more amount of time than that of quantitative method.
In-depth interviews: This is a valuable qualitative data collection method that is utilized
for different purposes including program refinement, assessment and issue identification. In-
depth interviews have been appropriate for situations that ask open-ended questions with depth
of answers can be collected.
Observation methods: It is a common methods for qualitative data collection in which
observation has been in demand. It include researchers to become a respondent in their research.
Participant observation often requires months and years of hard work as researcher needs to
become accepted as general part of the research.

Focus groups: As commented by Alattar et al. (2018), a focus group is a group interview
of six to twelve people having same characteristics and common interest. Facilitator used to
guide these focus groups a set topics to them. Facilitator used to encourage them for sharing their
opinions and knowledge regarding the topic. Data is collected from views and opinions of the
focus groups. Subjective data form is collected from focus group. It is not measured numerically.
It is helpful for getting quick reply and easy for setting up. It has been useful for gaining insight
into a topic that might be more difficult for gathering through other data collection methods.
Online journals, books and academic reports: As commented by Pockett (2018), these
sources of data have the most common qualitative data sources used in the research for data
gathering. Several online journals, books and academic sources are utilized for collecting data
from previous studies. This help in getting in-depth data from previous studies. Themes are
made created on objectives and research questions which are answered with help of previous
studies.
In this research, data can be collected from online journals, books and academic sources.
These sources need to be based on the research topic including impact home router on sleep of
person overnight. Several online articles and journals based on the research questions can be
gathered. Data can be gathered from these online journals and books. Data collected from these
sources might help in answering the mentioned research question.
P3 Conducting secondary research
In order to find the effect on sleeping and health due to exposure to WIFI waves, certain themes
have been created. These themes have been created based on objectives of research.
Following are three themes for this research:
