Importance of nonverbal communication in
communication
It is already stated that the non-verbal cues can be very different from cultures to culture.
Apart from this on the other hand the there are various studies that have shown repeatedly
that there are around 7 facial expressions that are universal in all the human beings. This
includes anger, disgust, fear and etc. Non- verbal communication is a thing that determines
what is to be done truly being said and the words being spoken. Sometimes in some of the
situations a person can agree with another individual while the actions or facial expressions
might suggest something else. The understanding of the body language can also be very
instrumental as it can help others to accept the other individual’s point of view, there are
various techniques for the same, and one of the techniques is mirroring which helps in easing
the things out. The technique involves subtly mimicking the gestures of other persons.
Mirroring is something that happens in a natural manner, it can happen even when the people
communicate, but the use of this method in a strategic way helps in making the situation
more easy and comfortable when there is a tense situation (Penn, Hanson, Chambers, and
Shriberg, Microsoft Corp, 2014).
