Assessment 2: Individual Written Reflection Assignment PDF_1
Introduction In my essay I will define reflective writing and present what it involves. As a framework for reflective writing, I chose a Gibb's (1988) learning cycle as a way to reflect on my educational experience in academic skills because it helps to make sense of the situation and understand what was done well and what went wrong, in order to do better in the future. Also I think that Gibbs's method easier to follow. In my written reflection I will discuss three learning outcomes LO1: Effective management of yourself and your academic work. LO2: Integration of information from appropriate sources of literature to enhance and support your academic and reflective writing. LO3: An understanding of academic integrity, strategies to avoid plagiarism and referencing. What is reflective writing? Reflective writing is evidence of reflective thinking. ‘’Reflective thinking is a process of analyzing or making judgments about what has happened. Learners are aware of and control their learning operation, actively participating in reflective thinking – assessing what they know, what they need to know, and how they bridge that gap – during learning situations’’. More individual kind of reflection in academic work is reflective writing. Benefits of reflective thinking in learning outcomes helps to develop strategies in complex situations in the day to day experiences. Now I will introduce my learning experiment through 6 stages of Gibbs learning cycle to show how my learning process was reflecting on my management skills, strategies, way of avoiding plagiarism, research of sources and understanding of academic integrity in reflective writing. The first, description will show the part of my learning story and enhance the study strategy and team work. In the second stage I will explain how I felt on my tasks and from were it was coming from. The third stage of evaluation is about the positives and negatives situations which happened in the project. Fourth,Analisis, will be about a journey into research of sources from literature. Through fifth part, the conclusion I will summarise my learning time and highlight the changes which I am going to apply in the future. As a sixth and last stages I will apply action plan, what I will do differently next time and how I will do it next time.

DescriptionI started my study experience at Bath Spa University in November 2019. As a course I decided to go for Bsc (Hons) in Health and Social Care Management. Through the first two months we proceeded a module which contained the learning outcomes. From the beginning we worked on study tasks, did exercises in the group and personality test to meet our strong and weak sides. Firstly I looked closely at the Harward referencing system to provide a good system reference in future projects as I was planning to support my academic writing in literature. The first written project was a group venture. We were separated into a group of five pupils. We selected a leader of our group. The tasks were shared by us and divided equally between the 5 of us. Also we laid out our meetings plan to do our group work together. We continued the arrangement in the study days and also after the university time, we decided on a couple of meetings in the coffee shop to handle the schedule tightly as the deadline was in two weeks time. We all agreed that the time is a strong opponent in this case. We didn't think that the last days will challenge our time management so much. Sometimes it’s really hard to predict upcoming difficulties, even if you stick to the plan so well. We all worked hard on our project and three days before project submitted we realized that there is a conflict of sources and referencing which was caused by poor communication and lack of time for our team work. The correction was important to not meet plagiarism. Time challenged our skills, self management, ability to deliver the project on time. Happily we succeeded on time. The rest was to perform our presentation in front of tutors. As I thought that the writing part will be easier than the performing, I realized that it was time consuming than preparation to speech. Plan was completed and submitted on time.
