Introduction
In the current scenario of the business environment, the team leaders are the ones who
provides proper guidance, direction, instruction along with leadership to the different group
members for the purpose of achieving the key result or the aligned results appropriately.
When the team leader tries to motivate the team, the group members helps in functioning in
the goal-oriented manner. In the contemporary business scenario, the teamwork atmosphere
is the one which helps them in promoting atmosphere which helps in fostering the loyalty and
mutual understanding among the different team members. The close-knit relationship is the
vital element motivates the employees in parallel manner and align them in working harder
and become supportive for one another. It has been capable of reducing the leader and
follower relationship and in the teams, the followers and the team leader work in the co-joint
manner for achieving the goals and achieve the desired results within stipulated time line.
The essay throws light on critically understanding and examining the role of leaders
in the teams for achieving success. In the previous scenarios, the different companies mainly
focused on individual dynamic kind of relationships between leader and follower. However,
in the contemporary companies, the different companies rely more and more on teams and
with the help of suitable examples of suitable leaders who have been capable of achieving
success, the role of leaders in the teams for gaining competitiveness.There are different
instances of the companies and leaders who have been successful in achieving the successful
and desired results within the stipulated time frame after working as a team and the desired
results have been achieved successfully.
Discussion
As commented by Warrick (2017), in the previous scenario of the business
environment, it has been noticed from various surveys,that there was a formal leader and

subordinate relationship that led to the gap between them and it affected the work atmosphere
negatively. There was no presence of teams in the different companies and the employees
used to work in an individual manner and achieved their goals. However, as opined by
Vasilaki et al. (2016), there has been different instances when they were not successful and it
led to the negative kind of productivity in the workplace. It led to the communication gap and
affected the morale of the employees which was showcased in the different tasks performed
by them. Due to lack of motivational aspects, the employees disliked the different tasks
which were performed by them and it reduced the overall effectiveness of the business
environment (Tullo, 2019).
However, as commented by Shuffler and Carter (2018), there are different
contemporary organizations in the present scenario as in the teamwork, the strength of the
different individuals from various cultures and with various educational backgrounds, are
combined for benefit of the entire team. Moreover, as stated by Salas et al. (2015), teamwork
helps in building unity among group members and the better results are delivered within the
stipulated time frame. On the other hand, according to Sandoff and Nilsson (2016), there was
no such coordination among the employees and supervisors and the supervisors were held
responsible alone for the different mishaps which used to take place. On contrary, there were
different instances wherein the employees were fired without their fault as they followed the
instruction of supervisors.
As commented by Rosen et al. (2018), in case of the teamwork, the relationship plays
an important role as it assists the different individuals in communicating properly with one
another with proper respect and the same is applicable in case of the managers. As stated by
Meng and Boyd (2017), the teamwork is one of the vital aspects which is required in different
kinds of business organizations wherein there is inclusion of small number of individuals
with complementary skills who are committed to a specific purpose and achieve the common
