Health promotion-related assessment
The primary determinant of Ruby's current health condition is her husband’s
sickness. This is a major environmental factor since Ruby anxiety worsened after her
husband was diagnosed with bowel cancer three months ago. This, therefore, means
this could have led to an increase in her stress levels and hence causing her anxiety
disorder to become worse. She must be worried that her husband might not recover
due to the seriousness of the illness he is suffering from and hence resulting in her
current condition.
The other environmental determinant is the fact that her children have been away
from her for some time. She admits that she is a full-time mother and she is always
close to her kids, and hence she misses them so much. Her children distract her
whenever she feels stressed up and thus explaining her the anxiety she has been
experiencing lately.
Ruby forget the things that her psychologist taught her, and hence it becomes
difficult to control her anxiety whenever it sets in. She does not know anyone in
Brisbane who could help her, and therefore, her condition has continued to grow
worse.
Despite Ruby suffering from diabetes, she states that she does not eat a healthy
diet and being in Brisbane makes it even worse. This could have been a contributing
factor to her current illnesses since diabetes type 2 is a severe condition which
requires adherence to treatment recommendations. Furthermore, she does not do any
exercises and hence making her condition to get worse due to unhealthy body weight.

Evaluation criteria
To determine the effectiveness of relaxation technique, Ruby should get more
relaxed, and her mood should improve after using the relaxation techniques (Rock et
al.,2016, p.1605-1613).
Effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy will be examined by observing Ruby in
order to establish whether she has changed her behaviour (Li et al.,2017, p.44-54). For
example, the worries she had about the health of her husband should be reduced. She
will have a positive mindset, and her fears will be reduced significantly.
Ruby's anxiety attacks will reduce when Ruby gets medication. Therefore, once
she begins getting medication, the symptoms related to anxiety will reduce and hence
proving the effectiveness of this strategy (Scaini et al., 2016, p.105-112).
To examine the effectiveness of daily physical exercise intervention, Ruby`s body
weight will be measured every week to determine the number of kilograms she has
lost as a result of physical exercises.
