INTRODUCTION
Business cannot be done without business skills, as these skills are termed important at
whatever level a person works with an organisation. This assignment is based on four key tasks,
the first will cover handling waste management in educational establishment, second will cover
the performance of diversity in business, third will cover security as per rules by monitoring
bodies and last task will identify risk within place of work.
TASK 1
a) Benefits of keeping waste to a minimum.
The advantages of going paperless in school reach beyond just saving time and the nature
as well. Further, going paper less also helps the school saves money. For example, printing on
both the sides of paper can cut down the cost of paper in half, sending content through mail
instead of postal mail decreases the price of paper and postage. Moreover, by investing in
technology and software, learners and wider school faculty develop digital literacy skills, which
further place them up with the right foundation (Rhyner, Schwartz and Kohrell, 2017).
b) Recycling, disposing of waste and maintaining equipments.
Engage everyone :- for recycling in school, management must involve and get support
from top level administration. Engage all workers and students including staff and
education must be provided on the recycling program.
Corrugated cardboard can be used to ship merchandise for maximum value, contaminants
such as polystyrene, packing materials, plastic cartons and other dust should be
eliminated.
Another way can be by reducing trash disposal and save raw material that are collected
such as plastic related things, bags for recycling and incorporate them into new product.
c) Suggest ways to reduce waste in a business environment.
Use water coolers :- water coolers are considered the best alternative to the one-use
bottles. This can be done by placing in a water cooler that can provide healthy and cold
spring water and a business can lower water waste.
Meal in reusable containers :- it is discovered that in businesses, paper and paperboard
make around 40% of all garbage and bringing food in reusable containers will improve
uneaten food waste (Moh, 2017).

d) Implement of the suggestions.
Increase recycling of mix containers, paper and cardboard.
Create a recycling coordinator at school, as this will accountable for making sure
recycling is collected by superordinate.

waste produced every year.
Further, the system of school will recycle paper and a mixed paper dumpster will be
employed for this purpose.
e) Evaluate the impact of the change
Recycling paper assist the nature and leads to major enhancement in the environment.
Using the both sides of paper for printing, for taking notes makes a great contribution to
saving the nature and reducing costs.
Recycling paper further promotes a clean green image, which further results in school's
reputation (Aparcana, 2017).

A ) Diversity in business Context
Diversity can be defined as people with a wide range of personal attributes working
together in an organization. In addition to this, Diversity at workplace consists of people
belonging to different cultural background. It also encompasses of sexual orientation, gender,
race, ethnic group, citizenship status etc. Diversity have focus on including different ideas,
backgrounds and opinions in the mix when making key decisions, developing and generating
new ideas and solutions to internal challenges.
B) Benefit of having diverse workforce
One of the important benefit of diversity is that it encourages creativity. The another
biggest benefit is that diversity encourages innovation which is very much important in context
of driving firm towards success. It helps an organization in improving retention rate. Diversity
also supports in reducing the cost related to the staff turnover. It helps in development of new
ideas which can be utilized for expansion of business.

Coca Cola company has developed some policies as well as processes for promoting
diversity at workplace. An organization provides diversity training to its employees. In addition
to this, few workers in coca- cola is assigned with the task to ensure high employee retention.
The another example of diverse workplace is Disney, a company recognizes that diversity
and inclusion are fundamental to its success. Global workplace and Woman initiative pregame is
organized by business entity for promoting diversity.

It is required by manager in an organization to formulate clear as well as effective
policies. In addition to this, manager in an enterprise should offer diverse opportunities for
engaging employees. Diversity training can be provided to employees at workplace. Mentoring
as well as communicating clear expectations is considered to be as an effective strategies for
promoting diversity.
E) Legal and Organizational guidelines which governs diversity at workplace
Equality Act in United kingdom states that it is required by the employer to ensure that
all employees at workplace are provided with equal opportunity of work. It also states that all
the workers in an organization should be provided with equal wages or salaries. In addition to
this, other is discrimination act , which dictates that no employee should be discriminate on the
basis of caste, religion, gender etc.

A) Explaining significance of confidentiality and security in business environment
Maintaining confidentiality as well as security in business environment is very much
crucial in context of building as well as maintaining trust. It is also very much essential in
context of ensuring an open as well as honest communication between employees and customers.
Confidentiality enables free flow of information which is very much necessary for smooth
functioning of business (Clutterbuck, Megginson and Bajer, 2016). Maintaining the
confidentiality is important in order avoid legal issues. Security is crucial in order to reduce
liabilities, compensation. It is also important in order to make workers feel safe.

B) Ensuring that property and information are kept secure in line with organisational procedures
as well as legal requirement
Manager in an enterprise need to implement the policies. In addition to limiting the
workers access to important business information can be considered to be as an effective strategy
for securing the data. In addition to this, Utilization of special software for storing information
can be considered to be as an appropriate strategy for maintaining the security of information.
Risk assessment is technique which can be implemented in order to prevent property from
damage.
C) Identifying the possible consequences of failing to maintain security as well as security
The failure to maintain confidentiality of information might lead to loss of customers. In
addition to this, if in case the information provided by clients or employees is misused then in
such situation company might have to face legal issues. The disclosure of sensitive employee and
management information can lead to a loss of employee trust, confidence and loyalty. Due to
leakage of trade secrets an organisation might have to suffer huge financial losses.

There are different type of risk these are physical hazards which includes slip , falls , trips
, vibration etc. Ergonomic hazards which involves such physical variables which harm the
musculature system, such as manual handling . Chemical hazards : it involves harms from
chemicals. Biological hazards : it includes bacteria or viruses which can have adverse effect on
the health of employees. Examples of health risk are , breathing problems, skin irritation etc.

best technique for reducing risk.
