INTRODUCTION
Business environment is an environment which has a direct impact on business of an
organisation. It is dynamic in nature and change on a rapid pace. The major changes in the
business environment in the recent times are because of the Global pandemic which covid-19
is. It has affected various individuals and business in several manners. In some cases this
pandemic has put a negative impact on the other hand Some industries it create a great
pressure. Among the industries which deal with great pressure one of them is pharmaceutical
industry (De Soto and DSSc, 2020). In recent times the industry has face a lot of
transformation in their business and effects several major companies for example
AstraZeneca. AstraZeneca is a multinational organisation which deals in Pharmaceutical and
Biotechnology. The company is British-Swedish whose headquarter is situated in Cambridge,
England. This report contains analysis of internal approaches of AstraZeneca in terms of the
strategies which are used by the company in past 5 years and which have been used in future.
For this purpose trial and a summary of SWOT analysis has been used for the company in
order to find competitive advantage of the organisation. This report also contains
sustainability of the business in the pharmaceutical industry and the findings that which
strategy should be used by the company.

AstraZeneca PLC is a company which was formed in 1999 and is one of the largest
pharmaceutical companies of the world. It was formed from the merger of a company as a ab
in Sweden and Zeneca group PLC in UK. That is the reason the company is British Swedish
Multinational Corporation. The core activities in which AstraZeneca is involved is the
development Discovery marketing and manufacturing of biological as well as Pharmaceutical
products which are essential in various areas of Healthcare. The Healthcare for which the
company is concerned is gastrointestinal cardiovascular, oncology, neuroscience, respiratory
and inflammation and infection (Wise, 2021). The company deal in pharmaceutical sector
and is one of the fastest and most productive countries in this industry. The company is
involved in continuous improvement in their research and development which help them to
research on several diseases which are increasing day by day. As around the whole world the
