INTRODUCTION
Leadership refers to a process of influencing others for attainment of desired goals and also
motivative employees to contribute their efforts in success of organisation (Andersen, 2018).
Leadership helps an organisation to overcome of problem occur in organisation and also provide
a framework to solve problems in an efficient manner. Leadership also provide competitive
advantage to organisation in compare to other market players. There are various ways in which
organisation expand their operation in another region. Selecting a region to expand operation into
require proper understanding of region and also require cot benefit analysis. This project report
includes study of Australia based manufacturing organisation. Blue Scope steel is one of
Australia based organisation conducting their operation in manufacturing industry which is
stablished in 2002 in Australia. Organisation is conducting their operation as steel producer by
using resources from New Zealand, Asia, North America, Pacific Island. This project report
includes selection of region for organisation and description of reason behind selecting that
region. There are various factors to be considered by company in selecting a region including
their political environment, technological advancement, availability of supplier, availability of
other resources. It also includes description of various organisation structure and its strength and
weakness for business. There is different organisation structure which helps to define various
roles and responsibility of every members working in company. But these organisation structure
has different strength and weakness and company need to consider these factors while selecting
suitable structure for their organisation.

Blue Scope Steel is one of Australia based company which is established in the year 2002
in Australia (Burns and Mooney, 2018). Company is steel producer operating in manufacturing
sector. Company wants to expand its operation in international region in China which is most
suitable for their requirement due to various reason. China is one of developing countries which
has advance technology and skilled labour. Growth rate of China is also attractive which helps
company to provide various benefits. Some of reason which make contrary suitable for business
of Blue Scope Steel are as follows:

Favourable government policies: Government of China is providing support to enterprise
for both local as well as international business. These measures help business to expand their
operating activities in China. These support helps Manufacturing companies to get supplies in
market of china and also carry out their operation in china as it helps to create employability
opportunity for people of China. This helps Blue Scope Steel to expand their operation China
without any problems. To provide support to these organisations to expand their operation in
country, government is providing some freedom to business. This make China suitable for Blue
Scope Steel to expand their operation.
Availability of skilled labour: China has both professional as well as talented people
suitable for requirement of business of Blue Scope Steel. This helps company to carry out their
operation successfully as it is important for business to get human resources to carry out their
business activities. There is high unemployment rate in China which provide oppeotunity for
company to create employment opportunity in country an get labour at low rate that helps them
to saves cost of business. It also provides employees for different types of skills set which
contribute in company to get success and take advantage of growth opportunities.
Low wages rate: Labour in china is cheaper in compare to another country which provide
benefit to organisation of Blue Scope Steel. There is high unemployment rate in country of China
with suitable skills sets which helps company to provide various skilled labour with low wages
rate (Grandy and Sliwa, 2017). This also result in decreasing total cost of organisation to carry
out their activity in market of china. This provide opportunity to organisation to earn more profit
and expand their operation without much increase in total cost. This helps enterprise to establish
their operation in market of china and make country more suitable for business of company.
Technology Advancement: China is advance in terms of science and technology which
helps them in introducing innovation in market. Blue Scope Steel is one of manufacturing
company which require technology for their production process. This technology provides
competitive advantage to organisation as it saves cost of business and also increase efficiency of
company. Technology advancement create barrier for new entry in same industry and also helps
to save resources of organisation including time, efforts and cost. China is suitable for
organisation of Blue Scope Steel in terms of technology as company can take benefit of
technological advancement in country.

Transport: Blue Scope Steel is one of organisation which are getting their resources from
more Asia, New Zealand and North America. Getting resources from Asia provide opportunity
to country as they are expanding their business in China that helps to save their cost of
transportation. Transportation cost of business is added to total cost of business which reduce
revenue of company. Reducing transportation cost provide opportunity to earn more profit to
company. Expanding business of Blue Scope Steel in China and getting resources form same
country helps them to fulfil their requirement of resource without any delay.
Raw material: Company is getting resources from New Zealand, North America and Asia
for their production process (Guhr, Lebek and Breitner, 2019). This helps organisation to
successfully operate their business in China as company is getting various supplier for their
production process in that country. This helps them to saves cost of transportation of company
and provide them variety of suppliers. Having more suppliers for organisation helps them to
bargaining for resources and also prevent business from threat of shortage of raw materials. This
factor makes Suitability of country for business as they get variouyty of resources in China
which saves their cost.
Organisation structure suitable for company and comparison between different organisation
structure with their strength and weakness
Organisation structure: Organisation structure refers to a system which helps to outline
way in which activities are directed in enterprise to attainment of goals. These activities include
responsibilities, roles and rules of company (Hasel and Grover, 2017). This structure represents
flow of information in different level of organisation. There is different type of business of
different size and all these are using different organisation structure that helps to get success by
defining job and responsibility of employees. This structure also shows how company meet their
objectives. There are various benefits of organisation structure a it not only represents hierarchy
of company but also pay structure of employees working in organisation. With this structure
company can grade each position and can decide pay scale of employees. There are various types
of organisation structure which Blue Scope Steel company can adopt. These organisation
structure has their own advantage and disadvantage for organisation. Blue Scope Steel can adopt
organisation structure which provide them benefit and helps to improve efficiency of their
operation. Organisation structure has different types which are as follows:

Functional organisation structure: Functional organisation structure is one which is used
for organisation of workers. These are organisation structure which include group of people has
specific skills as well as knowledge (Herrington and Colvin, 2016). This structure includes
vertical structure for each department with their roles including finance, sales, customers service.
This organisation structure includes special unit which report to top management as single
authority. Each functional unit include aspects of product and service like marketing, information
and technology, development and research. This organisation structure has different strength and
weakness for Blue Scope Steel which are as follows:

making of company as decision taking in this structure is quick that saves time of company.

organisation to conduct their operation effectively. Economy of China has low wages rates which
helps them to saves cost and provide them opportunity to earn more profit. Political environment
of China is supporting local and international business which helps Blue Scope Steel to conduct
and expand their operation in mark of china. Country has technology advancement which
provide benefit to Blue Scope Steel company as they can save cost and efforts of employees.
This also helps them to improve quality of their product and provide them competitive
advantage.
According to Pietsch and Tulowitzki (2017), organisation structure helps define roles and
responsibility of every member of company. Selecting an appropriate organisation structure
provide various benefit to company and helps them to save efforts and provide them benefit of
specialisation. Blue Scope Steel company can choose divisional organisation structure which
provide them benefit of specialisation in company and increase accountability of team members.
It also creates healthy competition in team members and provide them opportunity to increase

their efficiency. It also helps company to make their decision making more efficient as some
decision are taken by department at their level. All these factors make their organisation structure
more suitable for company. Blue Scope Steel company can increase their efficiency with using
suitable organisation structure but it has some limitation but adopting divisional organisation
structure helps them to overcome of problems related to organisation structure.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that there is various reason for
which an organisation expands their business in particular region. These reasons are providing
opportunity to business to conduct their operation in that particular region. These reasons include
their political structure and policies of government, availability of raw material, availability of
skilled labour, lower wages rate, low interest rate to raise finance, transportation, advancement of
technology, economic development. These factors help business to understand whether particular
place is suitable for company to carry out their business activities or not. To expand business,
business need to adopt suitable organisation structure which clearly defines roles as well
responsibility of members of company. There are different types of organisation structure which
has their strength and weakness in implementing in organisation. These organisation structure
include functional organisation structure, divisional, matrix, team based structure and networking
organisation structure. There are various skills required by individual which helps them to
effectively manage all task of business and carry out function of business. These skills include
team working, motivation, leadership, communication, decision making, problem solving,
conflict resolution, interpersonal skills and many more. All these are important for business to
carry out function of management and handle team members effectively for attainment of goals
of business.
