Thefollowing are the few communication barriers-Perceptual barriers- Perception refers to the way ofthinking by a person. As in case the wrong perception bythe people of Sri Lanka for its safety and security willaffect the decision making regarding the Resort opening bythe management team.Attitude barriers- The Introvert component in the mindsof Sri Lankan people makes them remain alone andrestrains them from communicating with the world. Thiscreates barriers in communication among the staffs ofCinnamon Grand Hotel and the customers. Cultural barriers- Various cross culture ideas and beliefsamong the people of Srilanka make them restrain fromcommunicating and expressing their views which in turncreates barrier to communication. Strategies to overcome barriers to effective communicationApplication of plain language while communicating withothers would help the management of Jetwing to conveytheir message more clearly and effectively.Active listening and avoiding distractions whilecommunication with people and customers would also dothe work for the managers of the organisation to overcomebarriers.Proper feedback from the receiver would aid hotel's managementin making their communication process more effective.
