INTRODUCTION
Business communication refers to a process under which data and information is
transferred between individuals within and outside of an organisation. It is analysed that internal
as well as external communication play a great role in organisational success. Here, information
needs to be transfer at various level of organisational structures so that predefined goals can be
accomplish (Orr and Jadhav, 2018). Along with this, it is also crucial to maintain proper
communication with external stakeholders in order to maintain their interest in business that is
crucial to ensure long term sustainability. Main aim of this report is to enhance communication
within company and identify different approaches of sustainability. It also comprises the ethical
way in which managers adopt these strategies to sustain at market place for longer run. Further, it
includes several CSR activities adopted by micro, Sme and corporate business entity to
formulated good brand image of company at market place. The second part of following report
includes a reflection in which various skills and capabilities that are required to have by a
researcher are discussed thoroughly.

Introduction
Business management refers to an area under which several activities, employees are manage
within organisation in an efficient manner so that predefined goals and objectives can be
accomplished. It is a wide concept which comprises numerous activities such as planning,
organising, staffing, directing and controlling that are essential to attain organisational goals in
predefined period of time (Hasse and Cedergren, 2019). Here, planning is significantly
associated with CSR activity of an organisation as it helps to prepare appropriate strategies that
will improve existing brand value, reputation of organisation at market place. In the first part of
following report sustainable approaches are included along with business strategy with an aim to
perform business functions effectively. It is analysed that there are several activities related to
CSR are performed by Micro, small, medium and large business organisations to improve their
reputation, positioning in market in order to get long term sustainability.

Nowadays, sustainability is the main concern of every organisation that is essential to
meet with current requirement of market place. This concept is consider suitable to run business
in smooth manner that is essential to attain predefined objectives. It is analysed that each and
every business entities are required to follow these strategies regardless their scope, size and
other factors. It is a suitable strategy for managers and business entities which will help them to
get positive outcomes out of several business functions. There are ample of strategies need to
apply by mangers for sustainability (Murphy, 2016). These strategies should be perform in
ethical manner with due consideration in order to get positive outcomes. Here, it is significant for
managers to perform business activities in ethical manner in order to ensure long term growth
and sustainability of organisation. With this, they will be able to get competitive advantage
which is essential to attain desired goals. In addition, this will make managers enable to maintain
positive image of entity among target audience. On another side they need to prepare numerous
strategies and implement those strategies in effective manner that is not an easy practice and
sometimes may become hectic for managers of company.
Business strategy refers to the formulation of several strategies to ensure long term
sustainability of organisation at competitive market place. Here, managers are required to
analyse these strategies on regular basis that is essential to get positive outcomes. They need to
make necessary alternations in present strategies as per the changes in current trends, needs and
wants of customers with an aim to generate substantial profit margin. Nowadays, people are
more conscious about environmental protection so managers are required to consider this factors
while undertaking various business functions (Moeller, Harvey and Maley, 2017). They are
required to analyse several external factors such as political, environmental, social and more
along with ethical factors to ensure long term growth and success of organisation. There are
several sustainable approaches which are being used by managers are given as under:
Awareness: It is analysed that for every company, it is crucial to spread awareness in
customers and other stakeholders regarding their functions which is essential to maintain higher
goodwill of entity at market place. As per the recent report of Deloitte, it is crucial to align the
efforts of leaders for sustainability along with its impact at work place. Here, methods of

higher quality goods at lower price. It will make organisation enable to earn higher profit margin

Waste: Here, to sustain at market place for longer run, it is significant to manage the
waste in an efficient manner. It is crucial for new business ventures to use effective resources in
order to produce eco-friendly products to attract more number of buyers. For instance, it is vital
for small business organisations to use effective techniques of recycling in order to produce
quality products (Jebb, Parrigon and Woo, 2017). There are ample of plants of manufacturing
that are being used appropriate techniques for waste water management that is generated during
production process.
Transportation: This facility is used in order to move goods from one place to another to
meet with needs of customers in timely manner. There are several kind of transportation vehicles
are used by company to provide products to target audience reside at different location of
country. Higher pollution is generated by transportation vehicles that put negative impact on
overall environmental conditions. For sustainability goal, organisation may use advance and
innovative techniques for timely delivery of goods and services that will reduce the adverse
impact of transportation activities over environment. As per the report of money control of 2006
Wall mart has been increased its overall efficiency by 25%.
Final product responsibility: It is analysed that organisations are highly concern towards
environmental impact of their activities thus adopt responsibilities of various business task
performed by them. This is essential to protect environment and provide better living standard to

for recycling and reusing. It is analysed that CSR activity play a major role in creation of strong
bond between organisation and other stakeholder such as customers, employees and more.
On another side, there are several approaches of CSR such as minimalist, philanthropic,
encompassing and social activist. These are some crucial approaches that are adopted by
managers as per the size, scope of business. There are different approaches are used for Micro,
SME and corporate business with an aim to attain desired goals of societal development. It is
analysed that each and every business entity which is operating business at current market place
is required to perform appropriate CSR activities that will to sustain in market for longer run.
Nowadays, organisations are coming with new and evolve concepts of CSR that will further help
to improve goodwill, reputation and image of company at market place. With this, managers can
easily generate the interest of stakeholders in business to attain predefined goals and objectives.
Here, International Organization For standardization ( ISO) has been developed several
guidelines to assist companies in order to perform CSR activities in an efficient manner. In
addition, ISO also develops necessary principals and also provide financial aid to entities so that
managers can perform CSR functions effectively (Mansilla and Learning, 2017). It also
measures activities of organisation towards society on regular basis with an aim to provide
necessary feedbacks. CSR is consider as a better way to enhance the interest of stakeholders in
business so that they can rely on company. Different approaches of CSR that are applied by
different companies of various size such as Micro, SME and corporate business are given as
under:
CSR of micro:
Minimalist is an essential CSR activity that is performed by several organisations of
micro sector. In UK, micro business entities are refereed as small companies which have asset
value of £ 191800.00 per annum and has employee base of nearly five employees. These
activities are essentials to formulated higher brand image of company among stakeholders to get
their support for business growth and success. For instance, Rowlinson Knitwear is a company
which operates at small level that deals in clothing within UK market. Here, organisation also
provide uniforms to vulnerable people of society so that they can go school and get necessary
education.

It is analysed that Philanthropic and Encompassing are two most important approaches of
CSR that are applied by managers of small and medium size companies. These companies work
at small level with nearly 250 employees. These organisations are consider as the major source
of employment for local people. In addition, they prepare several strategies in order to help the
people and improve their living standard (Hogg, 2020). By this way, they are able to maintain
higher goodwill and reputation of company at market place that is essential to sustain at market
place for longer run. Here an example of Guildford tyre, that is a small company which offers
different range of tyres in order to meet with requirement of target segment. Organisation is
engage in providing eco- friendly products and plantation to protect environment that is essential
to make higher goodwill of organisation at competitive market place.
CSR of Corporate business:
For corporate business that perform several business functions at large level social
activist is consider as most suitable approach. This approach of CSR is related to those
companies that are working at international level in different countries. With this, organisation
can easily get higher benefits in terms of increase in existing brand value, reputation at market
place (Roman, 2018) . Here, managers perform several activities of CSR with an aim to improve
standard of living of individuals within country. In addition, they also give significant
contribution in employment generation that will enhance income level of people and eventually
increase their living standard. In addition, managers of large corporates understand their
responsibilities towards society and environment thus prepare appropriate strategies to maximize
societal development. It can be understand with an example of Unilever where organisation take
several initiatives to provide several benefits to vulnerable people of society. In addition, they
also use numerous strategies with an aim to recycle wastage generated by organisation during
production process.
Therefore, CSR activities are essential for all organisation whether it is small, large or
medium. So, managers are required to select appropriate approach as per the size and scope of
business so that they can serve the society in better manner. Thus, there are difference
approaches are used by SME, corporate business with an aim to enhance overall societal well
being. These are essentials to attain predefined goals and objectives to sustain at competitive
market place for longer run.

At the time of doing this assignment, I was planned and confident to carry out the task in
a proper manner. This project assist me in determining the different CSR strategies which help in
developing reputation of the organisation at marketplace. I used secondary sources in order to
collect information that involves articles, journal paper, internet and many more. It is determined
by me that to complete a project it is important to have good research skills as it help in
collecting valid and reliable information on the particular topic. Because of my effective
communication skills, I was able to deliver the presentation to audience in an effective and
proper manner. During the assignment, I have developed employability skills which help me in
my future to getting a better job opportunities . It is analysed by me that time management is one
of the important skills that I have developed while performing this study. I also get the
knowledge about team building skill that is important for an individual in order to gain both
personal as well as professional growth. Teamwork is important within an organisation as it help
to execute activities and attain objectives within stipulated time period. For the completion of
project, I took help of my mentors, teachers and classmates as well. Belbin and VARK model
were used in order to analyse the professional and personal skills. Learning approaches is
defined as set of factors, behaviour and attitude that facilitate learning for the individuals. IT is
determined that each and every person is different in context of personality, attitude, cognitive
style, learning and many more (Palepu and Healy, 2018). VARK is known as visual, aural, read
and kinesthetic sensory modalities that is adopt for presenting the learning. My understanding on
the basis of VARK model is given below:
Visual – It involve the usage of different pictorial information at the time of doing
project. It is determined by me that with the help of statistical data, facts, graphs, charts, the
presentation of information become attractive and easy as well.
Aural/Auditory – As per this model, a preference for data is spoken or heard. I have
effective listening skill & all the data or information provided by teachers is understand by me
properly. It helped me in developing an appropriate and effective presentation of the assigned
work.
Read/Write – It is associated with displaying of words. I have developed a systematic
report on sustainable corporate social responsibility. I have written all the information properly
with the right evidence and sources.

Kinesthetic – This modality is termed as perceptual preference that is related with the use
of practices and experience as well. It consist of case studies, simulation, demonstrations,
practise etc.
I will rate myself high within all perspectives of VARK model as my presentation of
report is systematic and effective. My expectations were consummated by doing this report. I put
efforts to make this assignment relevant and appropriate because of which I get effective results.
The Gibbs model is reflection as it aids in assessing the skills and abilities of an
individuals. It is considered as reflection cycles which helps for knowing what are the skills
needed for doing activities of assignment effectively. The Gibbs model of reflective cycle help
me to evaluate my working efficiency in effective manner. This terms as the most interpreted and
misinterpreted sometime which creates problems for me. The Gibbs model includes various
stages that I have analysed and these are shown with the help of below diagram.
The Gibbs reflective cycle stages mentioned below and that is developed by Graham
Gibbs. It is vital for me to assess all my internal skills and capabilities for performing well so

workplace if am able to mange my time along with different task and business activities. Few
steps of significant model are as follow:
Feelings: According to the first step, for which I creates various feelings while
conducting many allotted assignment This projects was basically incorporated Corporate social
responsibility that a firm have. It is very essential for company to perform well for gaining
competitive advantage and that can be carried out only with the help of employees which trends
to us. This helps in managing the image and brand vale of company. There are various situation
arises which left me demotivated. I was not able to handle and manage all my task along with
critical situations during performing the allotted task. I got motivated when I saw my friends as
well as with the help of CSR activities for performing well in assigned task that considered all
relevant information which boost up my strength. So I worked hard for gathering information
used in this assignment as it is mu=y duty for carrying out this assignment efficiently and
effectively.
Evaluation: When I was carrying out this assignment, I was sure that all information that
I have gather or analysed will be correct and effectively represent in this assignment. In order to
make more better , I assessed my work two times for assuring that the data used in this
assignment is relevant and authentic. At the initial stages, I was not sure about doing doing this
project but after sometime I got motivations myself in order to complete this assignment
effectively. At this point my enthusiasm and confidence help me to combat with this assessment
in effectiveness and appropriate manner. I select the best data and informations for making this
assignment properly that would become more reliable, relevant and authentic. After completing
this assignment I got to know that this project was done correctly and appropriately. As well as I
developed so many skills related to employments by doing this assignment

topic of assignments. For which I have concluded able steps and that was is each and every
company need to contribute in CSR activity as it helps in developing society along with the
community peoples. For that I have made conclusion on the basis of each task that I have given

large scale or small scale it is vital to support the society in which they are operating their
business so that effectively all goal and objective will be easily achieved with in given time
frame. On the other hand, it has been summarised that for a business unit it is essential to create
effectively communication systems within corporation as it directly lards towards successfully
by improving relationship with other firms as well as employees to get effective and appropriate
knowledge about entire assignment and perform various activities by considering high quality.
With the assistance of this, various objective along with goal would be easily attained in small
time. Whereas, it is much needed for a business company to keep on forwarding new innovation
in relation to CSR activities where primary focus would remain over uplifting the living
standards of society and communities peoples. So company may become able to achieve
competitive advantage as it directly creates interest in consumers, investors and so on. There fore
there are various associations likewise to direct CSR exercise for general public as they can use it
in progression measure method.
