Benefits and challenges of business process modelling in cloud:
The business process modelling or simply process modelling is basically
representation of the business processed in analytical way. This is basically the illustration of
the business processes critically which is used for business process management. The
different software which are used for process modelling generally shows the current process
system in the ‘as-is’ model and the improvements in the process as ‘to-be’ models such that
the business process system becomes more efficient than earlier (Giessmann & Legner,
2016). The different tools which are used for business process modelling are BPMN 2.0,
Universal process notation language, flowchart, Gantt charts and Petri-Nets.
As every modern processes of IT or technology industries are linked with cloud or a
virtual database of the company, improvements in the process will significantly change the
storage space, runtime of the could servers. Thus an improved process model of the business
has several benefits in cloud technology. Through the ‘to-be’ model the company can
thoroughly understand the working of the process and thus can predict the necessary of the
cloud servers and adjust the design or make restrictions according to that (Chang, Srirama &
Buyya, 2017). A consistency in the processes at a certain extent can be achieved by
appropriate business process model and thus the processes can be controlled by higher level.
Through proper structured business process model the different redundancies and the
inefficiencies in the existing system can be eliminated. The starting of the process and its
definite ending is represented by business process model which is mostly absent in large IT
systems (Aguero & Khodaei, 2018). Additionally, the process modelling enables the modeller
to group similar kinds of processes to work simultaneously and thus the person can predict
how the system is going to be operated. Analysing the current process sequence and its
efficiency measurement is the objective of the business process modelling and the predicted
