Introduction
Teachers while delivering their lecture in schools and colleges talk about a particular subject
and they feel like covering up entire part of material study within a short period of time will
make the students learn in an easier manner as well as in a very fast pace. Certain
assessments are conducted in schools and colleges to determine strengths as well as
weaknesses of students towards a particular subject however these tests do not always
provide satisfactory information regarding the capability of the student (Planas Lladó et al.,
2014). This report discusses about certain assessment tools as well as ideas that would help
the student to learn in a precise manner and would help them to foster new ideas as well as
concepts. This report also discusses about opportunities as a result of utilizing these tools and
provide required suggestions so that a protocol on self-assessment can be developed that
would encourage a student to improve towards studies as well as other recreation activities.
Discussion
Various tools for assessing ideas of students
1. Laying open-ended questions that would assist students towards writing as well as
talking
In order to make the student easily grasp a particular topic, it is necessary to put forward
open-ended questions before them for example “Does this subject make any sense?” so that it
assist them to talk, write as well as learn. This way it would help to reveal any idea in a
clearer manner and would help the student to develop interest in it (Baleni, 2015).
2. Asking the students to reflect on a particular subject
After a lesson is being entirely taught, it is required to ask the student to write in brief that
they have learned from the topic and how they would be implementing the idea in real life
