INTRODUCTION
This study aims at designing a game which can give the audience more knowledge about
plagiarism and academic misconduct. A new game will be designed for the purpose of getting
more awareness about plagiarism and academic misconduct and why students must avoid it.
MAIN BODY
Plagiarism:
It refers to using someone else's idea as their own with or without the knowledge or consent of
the original author. All unpublished and published material whether in the form of printed paper,
electronic files or manuscripts will be considered while checking for plagiarism (Ali, M.F.,
2021.). In the regulations of plagiarism, intentional and reckless plagiarism will be considered as
disciplinary offence. It is a serious problem as the person doing plagiarism can have serious
consequences regarding their future and their career. This restricts the learning of a student
which by means of research can be gained by the student and will be beneficial for them.
Their are 4 types of plagiarism such as:
Direct plagiarism: Copying others work word to word will be considered as direct
plagiarism. The main point in this is that the copying will be done without any attribution or
quotation marks (Cronan and et. al., 2017.). It is considered to be unethical to deliberately copy
someone else's work and will also be included as academic misconduct. This will require
disciplinary action against the person doing it.
Self plagiarism: It refers to copying the previous work or mixing the part of previous
works of the student's own assignment. When someone coying their own work nd submit it again
then it will also be considered as plagiarism. It will be considered as plagiarism as the professors
involved in previous study will not be involved in the other study and their work will be
submitted without their permission.
Mosaic plagiarism: This type of plagiarism can also be known as patch-writing which
means student acquire paragraphs from a sources without giving proper references to the original
author while also keeping the structure as well as meaning of the study same. Whether
intentional or unintentional this kind of act will be punishable and will be included in academic
misconduct. This is unethical even after footnoting the sources.
