This research proposal aims to determine the impact of Brexit on EU migrant workers in the UK. The study will identify the restrictions imposed on EU workers, evaluate the impact on the construction industry, and recommend ways to minimize the issues faced by migrant workers. The literature review highlights the negative impact of Brexit on the labor supply and the construction industry. The research methodology includes a qualitative approach with thematic data analysis. The study will comply with ethical considerations and the Data Protection Act.

Title: How did Brexit impact EU migrant workers?
Introduction
From 1995 to 2015, the number of immigrants from EU countries living in UK increases
from 0.9 million to 3.3 million and the graph keep increases. However, many of them losses their
jobs and this in turn shows that there is a negative impact over them. Therefore, there are both
positive and negative impact identified over EU migrant workers and the current study also helps
to develop an understanding pertaining to impact of Brexit over EU migrant workers.
Rationale
The reason for conducting research on this topic is to determine how Brexit affected EU
migrant workers and this is considering as a key issue because employees are facing issue which
include loss of jobs and reduction in pay etc. Thus, the present study will shed a light by
providing ways to improve the same so that effective outcome can be provided.
Aim:
The aim of the study is to determine the impact of Brexit upon EU migrant workers.
Objectives
 To identify different restrictions included for EU workers when workers come UK for
work.
 To evaluate how Brexit affect migrant workers from EU working in construction
industry.
 To conclude and recommend the ways through which the issues faced by the EU
migrants’ workers can be minimized.
Literature review
According to Walter (2019) EU immigration actually fell substantially when Brexit
occurred and that is why, it affected the workers of UK negatively. As a result, there are different
restriction imposed upon the people such that there is a shortage of job and this lead to decrease
the job opportunities but it affect the negative impact over their performance. Rzepnikowska
(2019) also shared that immigration affect labour supply and the growth of population put
pressure on services so that it affect the employees in negative manner.

There is a negative impact identified over the industries during Brexit because around
63% of the building material were exported to EU and as a result, importer and exports faces
limits on quantities that affect the shortage of construction material. This is also supported by
Gawlewicz and Sotkasiira (2020) that Brexit lead to increase the cost of material and as UK
constriction industry is entire relies upon foreign labourers and that is why, the chances of facing
issue is increases. This in turn also deceases the employment rate within a country because the
labour supply decreases that lead to cause negative impact over the migrant workers. Thus,
almost negative impact has identified over the industry due to Brexit.
