Summary
In this section, information is gathered from the case scenario on Fast Track Couriers
where it is necessary to identify strategic change needs, reviewing the existing policy,
monitoring trends in the external environment that actually impact on organizational objectives.
The study properly explains about change requirements by consulting experts who will guide to
identify change requirements as well as opportunities at the same time.
3. Analyzing the organizational objectives provided in the scenario to identify the following
change requirements for Fast Track Couriers
a. Identifying requirements for change
From the case study on Fast Track Couriers, it can be noted that the company need some
changes in their organizational structure and in the operational aspects. Some of the requirements
of change are mentioned below with proper justification:
Fast Track Couriers needs to build its market share so that the company can be the
preferred choice as movers or courier company
Fast Track Couriers needs to change their delivery system so that they can offer shorter
delivery times to its customers. It is important to understand the fact that slow
distribution system often be the reason of late delivery to the customers and this action
proves negative in the minds of customers and that leads to decrease their delivery system

trust and motivation

One of the factors that affect negativity is the drivers to resistance in change. For this
reason, this aspect should be explained in detail by understanding the requirements.
b. Preparing an explanation on how the identified change needs to link to the strategic goal
plan in an organization
Change management is very important and inevitable process where organization can
experiment something new. The outcome of change management can be positive or negative.
But, organization should engage in experimenting new ideas in their approach. Every
organization needs a change but planning is important that aligns with strategic goals of the
company. The identified changes at Fast Track Couriers align properly with the strategic as well
as operational goals and these are as follows with proper justification:
Fast Track Couriers proposes to expand their business in the metropolitan areas. The
company wants to increase their share from small to medium delivery market that comes
around 7.5%. Therefore, it can be conducted if Fast Track Couriers engages in efficient
employment of workforce and technology.
Fast Track Couriers should adopt usage of technology such as GPS systems as well as
PDA as it will improve the distribution system as a whole
Fast Track Couriers should engage in providing training programs to the employees on
matters relating to change that is needed in improving their organizational structure.
