Task 2 – Written Report
You must research and identify three common health issues in the business workplace that can affect
productivity and, for each issue:
Research information on each health issue from external sources (e.g., prevalence of issue,
forecasts, is it an emerging or growing problem?)
Obtain information on this health issue from internal sources (e.g., from safety records,
consultation with relevant staff, personal knowledge, etc.)
Determine the implications for the organisation and business objectives.
List the standard approaches to address each issue in the workplace.
Locate and name relevant industry consultants by name and website.
Briefly detail how the approach be managed in the workplace, and give reasons for which
management approach you prefer.

Three common health issues within healthcare organizational workplace is Healthdirect Australia
which may include headache, back pain and mental health which are effective in affecting
productivity.
There is high prevalence of headache which includes more than 15 days per month and can be
increased over time. This can be an emerging health issue that can lead to create high impact on
service delivery of healthcare professional. There is high impact of this health issue on staff member
where they need for medical assistance for health improvement. In this, there is need to ensure
about business which can have impact on productivity. Standard approach to address the issue is to
identify the reason which can be either medical issues or any anxiety or working for longer time.
Migraine and Headache Australia is the organization with website headacheaustralia.org.au.
Biofeedback, relaxation therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy and managing stress can be
effective to reduce the risk of headache within workplace.
Back pain is about 26% in all worker with organizational workplace. This may increase with time and
can lead to emerging health issue and can affect productivity. There is need for implication of
individual to provide safety record to provide staff member to deliver quality service with healthcare
organization. Quitting smoking, stretch and strengthen, keeping good posture are some of the
approaches which an provide better management to every individual along with healthcare
professionals. Australian Physiotherapy Association can provide better approach to reduce back-pain
within healthcare its website is physiotherapy.asn.au. These approach can be managed effectively
through keeping movement and maintain better body posture and take rest on some interval.
Mental health has also high prevalence within healthcare organization which may include one out of
five are facing mental illness either due to their work and other issues. In this, there is need to
ensure about good health. There is an implication for providing better environment and effective
condition within the organization to fulfill the business objective. In this, there is need to ensure
about proper time and providing refreshment for taking some short break from the work. This can
associated with providing some relief and anxiety for providing better mental health. There is need
to provide some short break from one task to another task. This can provide positive health mental
health.
