Task 2 – Project work

Task summary
This project assessment task requires you to review, develop and release policy for an organisation
(real or simulated).
This assessment is divided into 3 (three) parts:
Part A: Review existing policy and establish need for policy development
Part B: Prepare for and develop policy
Part C: Release and review policy development, process and policy
You will complete the assessment tasks in a real organisation (your current workplace can be used). If
you are not working, select a workplace / organisation you are familiar with.

Plan, develop and implement policy using iterative and consultative processes with input from
representative stakeholders
Analyse internal and external factors
Consult with stakeholders to identify needs for policy review and policy development

Ensure style and format requirements for organisational policy documentation is followed

Assessment criteria
For your performance to be deemed satisfactory in this assessment task, you must satisfactorily
address all the assessment criteria. If part of this task is not satisfactorily completed, you will be asked
to complete further assessment to demonstrate competence.
Re-submission opportunities
You will be provided feedback on your performance by the Assessor. The feedback will indicate if you
have satisfactorily addressed the requirements of each part of this task.

If any parts of the task are not satisfactorily completed, the assessor will explain why, and provide you
written feedback along with guidance on what you must undertake to demonstrate satisfactory
performance. Re-assessment attempt(s) will be arranged at a later time and date.

You are required to select an organisation in order to complete this assessment. An organisation can
be a business, charity, association, not-for-profit enterprise or government body.
You may select your own organisation (for example, your own business or one you plan to start); an
organisation you have access to, such as a business owned by a friend or family; or your current
employer. Alternatively, you can create a hypothetical organisation for the purpose of this assessment.

Prior to commencing this assessment task, you may discuss your chosen organisation with your trainer.
Part A: Review existing policy and establish need for policy development
This task will require you to review and establish needs for policy development for an organisation/a
workplace. Identify what the needs are regarding the work and safety policy for your chosen
organisation / workplace by completing the following
1. Identify and analyse the organisation’s (or workplace) current Work and Safety policy. (If you
have created a hypothetical organisation for the purposes of this assignment, please use the
policy attached – Appendix A).
2. Identify one internal or external element which would mean you are likely to have to change
the policy in the future. Describe how this element will impact on the policy
Flying healthcare service has currently having work-health and safety policy that have main
purpose to ensure health and safety of environment in which its employees, visitors are working
so that no harm can be caused to them in any circumstances. It is policy in which pro-active
prevention of work-related injuries and illness has been taken in order to protect employees for
harm while they working in the firm. Along with it, the company has also promoted effective
safe work practice and procedures that has contributed in ensuring health and well-being of staff
member. Furthermore, the company has undertaken consultative approach that means each and
every individual is liable to ensure it health and well-being while performing its respective task.
Company has also ensure that sufficient resources and medical equipment are present in the
firm so that appropriate treatment can be provided to the injured person in limited time frame
possible. In addition, to this company has included various guidelines that need to be followed
by work in order to ensure their and other health and well-being (Mupanemunda, 2020). Such as
not to consume alcohol, drug or anything that is danger for their health. The policy has also
mentioned that people with bare feet, fooling around and making use of inappropriate language
and dress are not included in proper conduct. Thus, all these would be in-tolerated at any cost as
it result in negative impact on brand image and safety of other individual working in the
organisation.
The key element that need to be changed is consultancy approach in which each and every
individual are responsible for their health and well-being. So it approaches need to be changed
as company need to take step to ensure health and safety of people, by making new procedure
and policies, arranging necessary equipment and resources that could help in protecting staff
member that are working the firm. Likewise, the manager need to take steps to analysis the
worksites, identify the associated risk with the workplace and find alternative method that could
be used to overcome the same in effective manner (Ower and et.al., 2021). Along with that
feedback or review need to be taken from employees about key health and safety issue that they
face while working in the organisation. So that appropriate strategies can be formulated in order
to provide ensure that no harm or negative impact can be caused to their health in any
circumstances for smooth operation of business.
