you demonstrate the required performance for this unit.
Before you start this assessment
In order to complete the (3) tasks successfully you must first complete the relevant topics in the
workbook.
You will need to select a context for your assessment. This context may be an identified project for
your current organisation or a previous organisation. Alternately, you may select a project identified
from the Plan2Go scenario.

Project – Research-based task
To complete this part of the assessment, you will be required to complete all tasks below.
Once completed you will need to submit this assessment to your assessor for marking.
Task 1: Research-based task on identifying quality requirements
This task is a written task to demonstrate your ability in identifying quality requirements. Based on
your selected project, respond to the following questions.
1. Review Activity 1.1 to determine quality objectives and standards with input from
stakeholders, relevant to your identified project. As a guide, your response should be
approximately 100-150 words.
Ans- It has been identified that for the powerhouse museum project there are certain relevant
standards that had been set by the manager which are based upon the requirements of local
council planning as per the requirements of Australian standards in order to complete the project
in pre-determined and efficient manner. Apart from this, another requirement related to suppliers
has been set in context of designing that includes fit-out activities. With the help of these
standards, the objectives of the project have been grabbed which involves designs that confirms
the required specifications. In context of stakeholders, various sponsors will be considered who
shares the investment that are required for the project completion. The identified objectives for
the powerhouse museum project is to upgrade core electrical infrastructure all across the level 1
and 2 along with installation of wireless infrastructure for the benefits of workforce. With proper
reviewing and tested all the standards, the project will be accepted.
2. Review Activity 1.2 and document, as part of the quality management plan, quality metrics
for the project and product output for your identified project. As a guide, your response
should be approximately 100-150 words.
Ans- The powerhouse museum project has required certain amount of focusing towards the
heritage standards. This involves the ensurement of building that should not be damaged by any
other required modifications in the infrastructure. In order to meet the quality aspect, wireless
technology has been used along with electrification in infrastructure working. With the help of
appropriate auditing methods and testings, the project team will able to submitted the design
layout within the local council which requires the planning of the project as per the standards of
Australia. The quality layout has been categorised and divided into certain quality matrices which
includes development of application submitted to local council which consists of dates in the form
of work breakdown structure which effectively explains the details and time duration about the
task. After submission of application and proper analysis, non-conformance of the design
submitted according to which certain modifications are highly required for the effective completion

of the project. After getting the feedback from the local council, the project team worked upon the
designing part and resubmit the project development applications with the involvement of
necessary modifications. The rectifications will be submitted by the rectification team allotted for
the project within 7-14 days of getting local council feedback.
3. Review Activity 1.3 and select established quality management methods, techniques and
tools to resolve quality issues for your identified project. As a guide, your response should be
approximately 100-150 words.
Ans- It has been identified with the project powerhouse museum, that there are various challenges
faced while establishing wireless technologies such as physical object interference RF interference,
incorrect antenna configuration, hardware architecture or might be security measures such as
WLAN security. In order to overcome from these specified techniques will be used such as Control
charts which includes which enables the project manager to identify processes that has changed
over time. With the comparison of data presented, conclusions have been made in unpredictable
manner. Next tool is the cause and effect diagram which shows reasons for low quality output by
identifying working conditions, raw materials required, management, technology, machines
required as well as worker’s requirements. Another is petro chart which helps the manager to
identify frequency of defects along with their cumulative impacts over the powerhouse museum
project. Moreover, the check sheets tool will also help the manager to appropriately finish the task
as it consists of collective and analysed data that has been adapted for wide range of purposes and
is highly considered among all the quality tools.
4. Review Activity 1.4 on how to distribute, discuss and support quality requirements with the
project team and key stakeholders, relevant to your identified project. As a guide, your

Ans- In order to support quality requirements of establishing wireless technology into
consideration, it has been identified that with the number of nodes, connection to backbone LAN,
service area, battery power consumption, transmission of robust security and licence fee
operations, the project will able to fulfil the basic requirements of the museum assessment. The
ways that has been adopted in order to distribute, discuss and support requirements of the
powerhouse museum project with the help of project team and varied stakeholders are different
types of stakeholders who performs their specific tasks in relevant manner. The stakeholders such
as local council has been approached by conducting formal meetings through face to face
conversation who appropriately discuss required design specifications. Another stakeholder are
end users for which email has been send in order to collect and give feedbacks over current system
that has been utilised in the project. It also provides information regarding the areas which greatly

requires improvements within the structure. Apart from various others stakeholders, the project
team will be connected for discussions with the help of planning workshops in order to map the
project requirements along with the quality expectations that has been captured from varied
stakeholders by identifying tools for project team in order to manage project overall and complete
quality. The stakeholders such as sponsors also has been communicated about the progress of the
project in order to make them feel significant for the project related to the powerhouse museum.
5. Review Activity 1.6 and include agreed quality requirements for the project management
plan to implement as basis for performance measurement. As a guide, your response should

Ans- The appropriate quality management requires certain amount of quality planning which
includes meeting with varied stakeholders to brainstorm about the expectation of quality for the
project along with making an appropriate quality matrix. By validating the acceptability of
attributes or features related to the project, the quality of the requirements about the wireless
infrastructure into the museum have been fulfilled. With the inclusion of proper planning the
quality assurance has been done with the help of documenting the overall business case by
reviewing current policies, rules and regulations along with various procedures that greatly
supports the quality of the powerhouse museum project. With the help of appropriately
maintenance and preparation of quality metrics, quality has been controlled via providing updates
with the help of meetings which are refers to the different tools who shows proper quality
management with the help of visual representation in the form of power point presentations.
Apart from this, continuous improvements have been reviewed for the betterment of the
powerhouse museum project by reviewing quality control output, utilise them to compare with
planned quality versus actual performances by team members. With this the proper planning will
be implemented within the project with continual checking and then actions have been taken
place for final submission of the assignment or museum project. In order to measure the

performance, productivity level, schedule performance, project cycle time, etc.

Task 2: Research-based task on implementing quality processes

1. Review Activity 2.1 to undertake quality assurance audit of project processes for compliance
with agreed plans, relevant to your identified project. As a guide, your response should be

Ans- The auditing in context of establishing wireless technology into powerhouse museum
project, process of verification by the security auditor will be implemented to find out how
secure is the wireless network of the museum and even executed in accountable manner
without any kind of losses or not. The audit aspects consist of certain specifications which
consists of areas related to non-compliance adjustments along with their corrective measures.
During the audit about the project, important questions has been answered such as the
applicable quality standards, the ways through which quality has been measured, who is
accountable to measure it, what will be measured, time duration at which it will be measured
and the criteria for rejection of any specific step if found any.
2. Review Activity 2.2 and assess quality control of project and product output according to
agreed quality specifications. As a guide, your response should be approximately 100-150

Ans: Controlling and managing quality is important as it is stated that it is going to renovate
museum with wireless technology. So, it is important for stakeholders and project managers to
make sure that building is not damaged. For this purpose, proper controlling and monitoring will
be done. Proper controlling and monitoring will ensure that all work is being done in an effective
manner. By hiring experienced supervisor, quality will be ensured. All work will be completed as
per the ISO standard. ISSO 9001 will be implemented and it will be made sure by project
manager that workers are performing their functions as per the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. It is
associated with quality management. So, on the basis of this implications, it can be said that it
will make this renovation and implementation of wireless technology in this museum will be
completed successfully.

3. Review Activity 2.4 and identify causes of variance to quality metrics and undertake remedial
action, relevant to your identified project. As a guide, your response should be approximately

Ans: There are number of business environmental factors in which changes may occur
anytime. Due to changes, project managers have to face problems in completing project in a
successful manner. There may be some reasons that can create variance in quality metrics of
this project of renovating museum by wireless technology. changes in project scope, lack of
resources, climate change, wrongly activity duration estimation and improper identification
of scheduled activities may affect overall quality of this project. In this context, it can be said
that having back up plan such as: having additional financial resources and different
techniques of completing project, can protect project manager against all these problems or
factors of quality metrics problems. Skilled employees will be hired; those work will be done
that are important or dependent on proper climate or weather. By prioritising tasks and
making use of Gantt chart as well as work breakdown, quality can be improved.

4. Review Activity 2.5 on maintaining a quality management system to enable accurate and
timely recording of quality audit data, relevant to your identified project. As a guide, your

Ans: Project can be considered successful only when it provides qualitative outcomes. It is the project
of museum renovation or transformation by wireless technology. So, it is important for project
manager to maintain quality. For this purpose, some steps will be followed as per the quality
management system such as: designing of training program for workers, development of quality
inspection program and ensuring equipment are maintained regularly. By providing training to all
workers, project manager can let them know some better ways of performing functions and using
technologies in an effective manner. As per the quality inspection program, workers and all
stakeholders will be providing feedbacks by which they can know their current performance and
areas where they need to improve for maintaining quality of this project. All resources will be
checked on regular basis by which problems can be detected in a timely manner. All these steps can
help out project manager in renovating museum.
Task 3: Research-task on implementing project quality improvements
1. Review Activity 3.1 for review processes to implement agreed changes continually
throughout the project life cycle, ensuring continuous quality improvement, for your
identified project. As a guide, your response should be approximately 100-150 words.
Ans: For successful project implementation, it is important for project managers to follow all
stages of project lifecycle such as: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling.
Controlling and monitoring are main stages because by performing these stages, project
manager can know its current situation of project and accordingly can make changes. If project
manager finds some changes requirement at this stage, then by promoting team working and
implementation of new strategies can help him out in continuing project as per the agreed
changes. For this project of renovation of museum by wireless technology, project manager will

require making use of only upgraded technology for better implementation on agreed changes.
Total quality management and six sigma can also be implemented for continuous quality
management.
2. Review Activity 3.2 and review project outcomes against performance requirements to
determine effectiveness of quality-management processes and procedures for your

Ans: For reviewing project outcomes against performance requirements, project manager will take
feedbacks from stakeholders. Internal audits can also be reviewed for knowing current position and
results as per the performance requirement. Workers of this project will be trained by which they
can do these audits in house. Project manager can hire experts who can review internal audits and
can help out project manager in knowing areas where they need to improve. For this museum
renovation, project manager will need to make sure that everything is being done as per the wireless
technology s for this, he will require providing training to all workers by which they can implement
wireless technology in an effective manner.

3. Review Activity 3.2 and identify and document (2) lessons learned and
recommended improvements from your identified project. As a guide, your response should
be approximately 100-150 words.
Ans: While completing this project, I have identified some risks that may occur and can affect quality
of this project. Throughout this project, I have learned effectiveness of ISO standard and quality
management approaches. So, by implementation of appropriate ISO standards as well as quality
management approaches such as lean, Kaizen and TQM, improvements can be done in this project.
Some risks that can occur include: damage to building and injuries to workers. So, in this regard, it
can be suggested that project manager should implement health and safety act and it must be
compulsory for all workers to follow guidelines of this act. It can protect them against injury and
health and safety problems. Project manager should focus on Internal audits, stakeholders’
feedbacks and management reviews by which he can know areas for improvement and can improve
them in a timely manner.
