INTRODUCTION
Managing personal priorities and develop is crucial for achieving and increasing
productivity. This report comprises of two tasks with various questions related to priorities and

work as well as development and report session. It is necessary to improve use leadership styles and
improve productivity so that tasks are completed in efficient manner.
Task 1: Short Answers – Establish personal work goals
. In your opinion what leadership style/s do you believe is the most appropriate for your business?
Ans.
In my opinion, Transformational leadership style is the best suitable style for the current business
this is because current business environment is changing continuously which also impacting the
business of brokerage where due to various changes within the environment the transformational
leadership style is best suitable because it is based on the changes within the business environment
which can be used for the benefits of the organisation. Transformational leadership style always
follows changes within the current processes which will decrease the chances of failure within the
operation and increase the productivity because of adoption of new techniques and innovative ideas
while performing business activities (Mabey, 2017).
What ethical behaviours should you demonstrate if you want to be a positive role model?
Ans.
For being a positive role model it is important to adopt the ethical behaviour within behaviour
of an individual so that different functions can be managed. in relation to the current business
situation the most ethical behaviour communicate effectively within the organisation so that a proper
communication can be maintained as well as production of unrelated information can be established.
This will also help in increasing the productivity because by the adopting effective communication
channel in behaviour this will directly impact on reduction of conflict and will save the resources
which increase the productivity and bring profitability (Kaipia, 2017). One more change within the
behaviour for bringing ethics is to take responsibilities for the work done. Taking responsibility for the
different decisions which are taken by me will help me in establishing a clear image in mind of
different individuals were working within the business as well as help me in improving my
relationships professionally with subordinates clients and suppliers.

For bringing specific in this goal I will try to improve my
interaction with different customers so that maximum customer
satisfaction can be derived.
Measurable
For measuring the performance within this goal I used to check
the feedback from the customer which will directly in able me to
identify the nature of customer as well as satisfaction level.
(Cooper, 2017).
Achievable
The above mentioned goal is achievable this is because for
improving the award for customer services there are no major
issues which should be handled as improvement in
communication and interaction customer will directly improve
the customer services.
Realistic
This is a realistic goal which can be achievable within the time
period of two years because by improving the services will
automatically get satisfied and will increase the sales.
Time-based This goal is effective because it is based on medium term wait 2
years are enough to achieve this goal.
Ethical
Yes this is ethical because it will improve the customer services
where customer can satisfy their needs as well as attracted toward
the product of organization for a longer period of time.(Anderson,
2017).

The major award of achieving this goal is that profitability will
increase because effective customer services will attract large
number of customer and this will increase the profitability
because of higher sales.

team and organisational plans. Using your SMARTER goal, explain what each of the
following plans might include.
For example, if a SMARTER goal is to learn new sales skills to improve sales by 1% by the
end of 2019 to meet your organisational objectives, your tactical goal may be to attend
training and the Strategic Goal may be to improve sales by 10% by 2020.
Ans.
Strategic plan The strategic plan for achieving the strategic goal how the
organisation related to increasing the sale 10%. A proper strategy
plan for this is that organisation have to use a marketing strategy
as well as combining its human resources with capital resources
so that it can achieve a proper marketing segment and attract the
large number of customer by which it can promote its product
within the market and can achieve its target related to increase the
sale (Yahaya, 2016).
Tactical plan The tactical plan include different stages which are discussed
below:
 Identification of the resources.
 Segmenting the market.
 Targeting the potential customer according to the age
income and preference
 Positioning of the product within the market by the use of
effective marketing tools (Huertas-Valdivia, 2019).
Operational Plan Operation plan will consist of different activity which is
discussed below:
 Identification of mission vision and objectives of the
organisation.
 Implementation of this mission vision and objectives on
the business scenario.
 Identification of industry.

 Extraction of different opportunities.
 Implementation of resources.
Explain the steps in a performance appraisal process.
Ans.
There are various factors which are involved in the performance appraisal process these are
discussed below:
1. Defining objectives of appraisal: what is the basic step where the objective related to
performance appraisal with the dictator mind by the manager within the organisation so that it can
motivate and start the performance appraisal system.
2. Defining appraisal norms: it is important to evaluate different norms within the
performance appraisal system so that performance can be measured on certain norms and
can be improved according to these norms (Brown, 2016).
3. Designing appraisal program: In appraisal programs consists of several issues which are
related to development of various other facilities within the appraisal method where it
include a present methodology timing of appraisal as well as other kind of tools.
4. Implementation of appraisal program: In this step implementations of appraisal programs
conducted within the organisation where it can be used interviews or provide appraisal
system (Aghera, 2018).
5. Appraisal feedback: appraisal feedback is the fifth stage in the process of performance
appraisal where the feedback is taken according to the implementation of performance
appraisal system within the organisation.
6. Post appraisal action: there are some variables within the performance appraisal system
which has to be identified by the organisations manager and must be overcome by taking
post appraisal actions.

Identify what a performance appraisal might review
Performance review is the overall analysis of employee performance and their progress level
within the organisation. The performance appraisal review subordinates performance progress
of a week month or you depending on the requirement of company. With help of performance
appraisal it is easier for entity to examine the potential subordinates increases the productivity of
business
It can be seen from the above that performance appraisal process is build-up of simple steps
which can be used by the manager within the organisation to improve the performance as well
as implement it to achieving the best outcomes.
TASK 2
1. Using understanding of your job description or feedback from a recent performance appraisal,
select eight tasks that you believe you can use to improve your productivity and list them in
the priority matrix.
Task are important to be analysed so that growth and development is done in proper manner
(Howard, 2019). Without examining of task, it is not possible to achieve the goals and objectives.
The task which are selected have are being analysed through use of priority matrix which is
discussed below-

Priority matrix- It is a matrix which is being adopted with aim of analysing the urgent and
important task (Hertsyk, 2016). It is time management model which is to be understood and
requires appropriate research for analysing the important or urgency of task which is to be adopted
for accomplishing the productivity at higher level. It is time-consuming process but is being carried
out in most efficient manner. With use of this matrix, errors are eliminated up-to some extent by
prioritising the task. This matrix is further divided into four quadrants which are explained below-
Urgent & important
Technology- It is important and urgent which is
essential for improving the productivity. By
using of technology, it is easier to gain
knowledge which will help in increasing the
productivity at higher level. (Rose, 2018).
Important tasks- Role reversal Is being

Networking relationships- This task is also
important but not urgently required. By focusing
on this one, developing a relationship helps in
getting the work done properly.
Break- This task is not urgent but important
because continuous work mode will increase a

Urgent but not important
Multi-tasking- Another task is multi-tasking
which is urgently required in some situations but
is not important to adopt. Not every individual is
capable for doing multi-task, so this is to be
adopted at time of urgency. This also increases
productivity at wider scale.
Getting feedbacks- In this , it is to carried out
at time of urgency but is not important. So,
getting feedback assist in analysing the weak
spots and also enhances productivity.
TASKS- This quadrant also requires task which
is urgent and it is to have an alternative of
knowledge another field so that it can be
beneficial for both subordinate as well as
company.
Urgent task is to analyse the progress level so
that work is carried out properly and feedbacks
are gained
Not urgent not important
Perfectionism- This task is neither urgent nor
important because perfectionism creates
problems and slows down the task progress and
productivity. This sometimes increase the
productivity but with encountering problems.
(Frunză, 2017).
Productive hours- This states that there are
working hours in which individual is more
productive. But this is not urgent or crucial as it
depends upon the person to person.
TASKS- The task which fit in this content is to
complete the work with overall analysis with
proper market research.
Other task is to complete targets on daily basis
to achieve higher productivity within the
business

From the above stated paragraph, it has been seen that by examining the value of every task
is essential which is needed to be carried out accordingly.
2. The aim of this exercise is to improve your productivity. Who would you consult with in regards
to your priority matrix and why?
It is crucial to examine & understand the level of productivity so that finals results are
achieved properly. In relevance with undertaken priority matrix, it is seen that task have been
discussed with their intensity of urgency and importance. So, I will consult my productivity with
my supervisor which will help me to analyse my strength as well as weakness. Also, consulting with
my supervisor will also help me to make new changes to the task whether they urgent or important.
Furthermore, through this errors and problems will be also eliminated at deeper scale.
Priority matrix is complex procedure and requires depth level of understanding. Moreover,
with new updated changes revising will be done effectively. With knowledge and experience of
supervisor it will be possible for me to make changes in most efficient manner (Yunita, 2019).

Prioritising of matrix-
Urgent & important
Technology- It is important and urgent which is
essential for improving the productivity.
Avoiding interruptions- It is urgent as well as
important which is required to be at priority
level to increase the productivity. By avoiding
interruptions, productivity get increased at
broader level.
Not urgent but important
Multi-tasking- After consulting it to my
supervisor I have analysed that multi-tasking is
important but not urgently required.
Getting feedbacks- It is also changed that
getting feedbacks are important for increasing
productivity but not urgent.

Productive hours- This states that there are
working hours in which individual is more
productive. But this is not urgent or crucial as it
depends upon the person to person.
There is need of prioritising matrix because the needs as well as importance of tasks changes
from time to time. So, it re-prioritising has been done in above discussed table accordingly.
Therefore, tasks & quadrants changes with situations or time.

a) Yes, the performance was improved as after the prioritising of matrix was done. After
that, improved my skills as well as knowledge by using of task appropriate tasks during the
process. This assist me in making decision making effective through which risks and errors were
eliminated. I also examined that with my improved performance in was able to identified the most
crucial task which is necessary (McNamara, 2016).
B) Documentation which I used was market research and marketing tool which is priority of
matrix. This model assist me in examining of my strength as well as weakness at wider scale. With
help of documentation it was easier to achieve and understand final output. Documentation assist
me in carrying out the effective decision making process (Chen, 2020).
5. List three (3) types of technology that can use to improve performance. Explain what functions
each technology can be used for and how it can be used to improve productivity and
performance.
There are various technologies which are used by individuals to improve their performance
and productivity. It is essential to use them in proper manner so that it become easy to boost the
level of performance at higher scale.

Technology Functions
Artificial
intelligence
This is used for understanding the robots and humans
languages. Mostly they are used for understanding natural
languages processing (Mabey, 2017).
Communication
technology-
Through this technology its main function is to
communicate message properly through orally, visually,
digitally. Communication technology assist in delivering
and understanding of message so that it is understood by
both receiver as well as sender.
Information
technology-
It is widely used across the globe with aim of process,
transfer and store of credentials. These are used with
aiming of analysing the data so that how productivity can
be carried out is analysed effectively.
The above explained technologies can be used to improve performance in many ways which
are mentioned below-
It enables more effective communication. Communication in workplace has long been a
driver of productivity. Whether it’s through meetings, emails, or otherwise, people need a way to
share thoughts, ideas, and updates with one another to keep things on track (Kaipia, 2017).
It increases engagement.
With use of technology, it is possible to improve performance through engagement with
others with appropriate measures.
6. Identify some contributing factors to workplace stress.
Work-related stress is a growing problem around the world that affects not only the health
and well-being of employees, but also the productivity of organisations. Workplace stress occurs
mostly due to many factors which are explained below-
Long hours- It is the major factor which causes workplace stress as more than 9 hours
working in at workplace become hectic and individual revolves around tension and problems.
Workload- This is also major factor which raises workplace stress at higher level. Because
of this workload, it become difficult for individual to concentrate on their work properly.
Therefore, workload reduces the overall performance and improvement which leads to low

productivity.
Changes within the organisation- This factor creates critical situation for employees as
because it frequent changes within the organisation often creates a work stress because of changing
environment and procedures.
Changes to duties- It is also an cause of work stress because it makes employees confuse
and irritating as their duties changes within a period of time or at frequent period. Also, changes to
duties, leads to reduction in confidence and new environment for employees.
Thus, after a brief analysis of above matter, it is seen that works stress is necessary to be
reduced so that goals objectives are achieve properly. Also, it is duty of organisation to make
ensures that these factors causing work stress are reduced up to some extent.
7. What can happen if you do not handle stress correctly?
Stress creates a problem for individual to concentrate on their desire goals. To carry out the
work in environment effectively it is necessary to handle stress so that problems do not arises.
Stress is part of both professional and personal life which is to be managed and handled in such a
way that peace is developed. If stress is not managed, it can cause or gets down the productivity as
well as performance down (Cooper, 2017).
Stress can be managed by scanning the environment properly, taking decision with research
analysis, thinking positively etc. It depends upon individual how the stress is handled and solved.
8. List some activities or action/s you can adopt to maintain an appropriate work-life balance and to
alleviate stress.
Work life balance is essential for achieving the peace at workplace. There are many ways by
which it can be done which are discussed below-
Track time-
By Analysing present situation is the beginning step in achieving a balanced life. Keep a
time log of everything individual do for one week, including work-related & personal activities.
This help in managing of every work time period in appropriate way.
Determine priorities-
Spend some time effectively reflecting on what is most important to person & then make a
list of top priorities at work or home. By determining priorities, it is easier to finish work wirth top
priority (Anderson, 2017).

After a brief analysis of above report, it has been concluded that managing personal
priorities and personal development is crucial so that goals & objectives are achieved in crucial
way. Discussions have been made about priority matrix, leadership, work stress. Also, measures
used for work balanced are also explained further. By properly managing priorities, it is easier to
eliminate risk and issues.
