INTRODUCTION Businesscommunicationissharingoftheinformationtotheemployeesofthe organisation for the commercial benefit in the company. As effective communication helps the business to attract customers. The present report is based on Mr Fishy, a fish and chips restaurant in Borough market which is near London Bridge Station. The report will study and analysethe purposes and principles behind different forms of organisational communication. The discussion will be basedprinciples of effective communication to enhance practice in the organisation. Further it will evaluate communication practise in the organisation and others. Literature review Principles and purpose behind different types of organizational communication Business communication is the flow of information within the organisation for attainment of the commercial benefits in the firm. According to the authorCorrea-Garcia, Garcia-Benau and Garcia-Meca, (2018)the purpose of the business communication within the organisation is to carry the basic functions smoothly. The managers main purpose is to communicate the information and objective of the organisation to their subordinates in order to make them work effectively and efficiently for the achievementsoftheorganisationalgoal.Themanagermotivatestheemployeesby communicating with them effectively and employees receive right amount of motivation when there is good communication. As per the views of the authorDu-Babcock, (2018)the different forms of organisational communication also includes oral communication as it is considered as a process where the information is conveyed from sender to the receiver verbally. Like speeches, discussion, TVs, radios, etc. the principles of effective oral communication is that presentation should be well planned in regarding to audiences, time and other factor, delivery of the topic, well prepared in the speech. The clear pronunciation must be their with the meaning full sense and brief messages shouldbegivenaslongtalkinglossestheattentionofreceiver.Thepurposeoforals communication is to speak in front of live audience formally of some specific topic. According to the authorDubinsky, (2019)another different form of the organisational communication is written form in which the it serves as an channel or content for ideas, tasks, decisions, solutions, etc. and solidify the sense of self and culture. The business writing are
emails, new policies, memos, etc. the principles of the written form is that their should be clarity while communicatingin written form.The passion and control must be present to make the content effective for the readers. The purpose of written communication is that it creates the awareness among the readers and leaves the legacy. It expresses the detailed information of the business case. Principles of effective communication to enhance practice Effective communication requires four skills that are learning, reading, writing and talking. A good communicator represents these skills and responses in the effective manner. As per the views of the authorIlie, Nickerson and Planken, (2019)the principles of effective communication is that the good communicator must be clear in its thoughts and views. The communication does not happen it needs advance thinking with the careful planning. The principle of clarity applies on both clarity of expression and clarity of thoughts. According to the authorPrentiss and Walton, (2019)the communication must be complete as incomplete communication keeps the communicator misunderstand and delay in action. In the principle of completeness the communicator must represent the facts and figures to receivers.Theconcisenessprincipleexplainsthatthebrevityisthesoulforthegood communication. As the communicator must use the relevant details which are required in message and delivers the message in fewest word as far as possible. According to the authorSapkotaand Vander Putten,(2018)the principle of effective written communication is that the information which is conveyed must in the complete form. The business communication states in the principle of completeness is that when the information is given to the receiver with incomplete data and the facts then it will irritate the readers and leaves as baffled. The principle includes answering of the all the question to the receiver. According to the authorsXi, (2018)principle of consideration is more important then other principles in the written communication. It give emphasis on the attitude of the person and it represents the pleasant facts to positively approach the receiver of the information. By showing the integrity it shows the ethical principles of sincerity and treated fairly. As the technology must be upgrades by the company from time to time. Which require the sufficient assessment and investments in the technology. According to the authorPrentiss and Walton, (2019)the communication strategies which can be used to make the workplace communication effective are that the attention given to the employee should not be undivided while paying attention to them like maintain the eye contact, look focused, etc. the communicator can improve by taking time to listen to the problem of the employees and answer their questions. Which will improve their understanding relation between the employee and employer. The sufficient knowledge will improve the skill of communication and eliminates the barrier in communicating. Analysis and discussion of all questions The purpose of Mr Fishy is to make coordination in their operational activity of the business by maintaining proper communication system in the organisation. The restaurant follows principle of clarity and conciseness to briefly describe the messages to its others staff members. The orals communication takes places in the area of restaurant kitchen between the chef and its employees the written communication takes places when the order is taken from the customers as it can be kept as the proof of the order through which the firm is able to resolve its issues with implementation of the new policies(Sapkota and Vander Putten, 2018).
Effective communication practices is more important in the work place to attract the customers towards the restaurant with sincere attitude and fairly treated customers (Strategies to overcome barriers,2019). Principle of clarity helps to clear the message to the receiver which reduces the communication barriers for understanding the message. As critically evaluated that it takes time in the verbal telecommunication which some times unclear while taking the order. Due to technological dependency it become the challenge restaurant to understand the orders while taking on mobiles(Prentiss and Walton, 2019). The restaurant overcome this by using the strategy of communicating as listening skills should be improved and understanding it properly and eliminates the barriers of distraction while listening. CONCLUSION From the above report it can be concluded that communication plays the effective role in increasing the overall productivity of the organisation. Restaurant requires higher level of coordination in the communication for the smooth functioning of the business operations.As critically evaluated that business communication is more dependent on the technology. With the use of advance technology the Mr fishy communication also gets increased with the productivity. Fish and chip restaurant faced challenge in listening the order through mobile communication as the barrier of disturbing element are present to over come this the listening skill are improved in the employees.
