Communication is the process through which individuals exchange ideas and information with each other.
Contrastingly, effective communication is the art through which an individual listens, reads, understands and processes
relevant information and conveys it to other individuals. Typically, there are 4 types of ways for communication

Barriers and Challenges to Effective
Communication
There are present several challenges and
barriers that hinder an individual’s attempts to
communicate effectively with others. These are as
follows:
The most prevalent challenge and barrier
that hampers an individual’s attempts at
communicating effectively with others is
that of linguistic barrier. Effective
communication is hard when both parties
involved do not share the same languages,
linguistic experience and possess diverse
accents, all of which present serious barriers
towards their effective communication
operations (Kapur, 2018).
Another major barrier to effective
communication presents through the use of
technical terms or jargon by one party trying
to communicate with others, which might be
excessively complicated or unfamiliar to
many of the people they are trying to
communicate to.
