INTRODUCTION
Business Environment refers to set of external and internal factors that has been
affected functioning of an organization. The current assignment will be based on Morrison’s,
which falls under category of top supermarkets in the UK. The study will explain, the business
mediums of the firm and how the microeconomic forces shape the competitive landscape in a
Business Environment. It will define the usefulness of strategic tools for the analysis of internal
business environment. brand strategy in the context of building & managing brand equity. The
assignment will justify effective communication of central ideas for a business entity. Lastly, it
will explain the theory of self-management and self-reflection by a firm in Market Environment.
Task 1
Describing what Morrison’s does to make money in the United Kingdom
Chosen organization deals within retail sector from longer time period.. It is known as
the fourth biggest supermarket , which have 494 stores around the region. The major products
offered by company are food and drinks, clothing, books and CDs. It’s management develop
various strategies to expand their business over time. Currently the enterprise operates through
three major business mediums, which enable firm to make money in the nation and increase their
profitability.
Store formats – As of 2021 Morrison’s has a total of 494 stores across its operational
region. The store format also forms the major business medium of the organization in terms of
customer gathering and profit making (Akhtar, and et. al., 2018). It offers each and every
products of the business entity under one roof. From past several years management is attempt to
increase their supermarket chain in market. The revenues generated by t this source for the
company is bigger than the other functional stock places.
Online retail – In order to make money and earn profits organization take initiative to
open online retail outlet, especially for customers. The success of store formats led to the
expansion of operations in the form of current one.. The first online retail was launched in 2012
as a website named as Morrison’s Cellar, which engaged in selling wines across the world
(Morrison’s Supermarkets, 2021). The firm then launched its own operations digitally in
partnership with Ocado. Currently it deals with vast number of business on internet. It also has
