INTRODUCTION
Ethics refers to the norms and standards which is to be maintained by the individual,
companies or any other person which are working or carrying any types of business activities or
also engaged in social aspects. Thus, ethics considered to be values and morality which
determines the integrity of the person to sustain their reputation in market. Usually in relation to
business, they set certain standards which is the duty of the employees to work accordingly and
deal in such matters without any barriers (Crane & et.al. 2019). In this report the case study
which is linked to this matter is relating to gender pay gap. In this case study, the discrimination
between the gender is examined regarding not getting similar wages in context of task
accomplished. This report will include the matter relating to differentiating the wages between
men and women. Report will carry the ethical issues which is undertaken by organisation in
respect of dealing in society.

A)
Ethics refers to the set of instruction which is undertake to judge the behaviours of the
human regarding pertaining to any such activity. In respect of dealing in any such matter which
is right and also provide justice to parties in relation to carrying the ethics in the business. Thus,
in context of business, it is the major responsibility of the business to maintain ethics at work
place. In respect of different companies, ethics is to be maintained by not discrimination any
person on the bases of gender. As every person are equal for the company and also, they carry
the similar rights in respect of dealing in any such matters (Hibbert and Cunliffe, 2015). Usually
at work place, the discrimination occurs in relation to seniors and juniors and this bis the basic
capabilities as the person are appointed through their skills and Knowledge. Thus, in such
aspects they are getting wages on the bases of skills and in such manner, discrimination is not
undertaking. As per the data which is mentioned under articles, it is examined that different
companies are paying wages on hourly basis and thus, they attract the large number of persons
towards the business. But the most of the survey report is examined that women are involved in
this business very less and also the wages which they are getting is also very low.
Thus, this is one of the major issues which is identified is relating to not getting proper
motivation regarding working in company due to not getting equivalent wages. As men and
women are equal and also carry the equal capabilities in respect of attaining the task. Thus,

companies are not adapting these aspects which results in getting less women empowerment or
also it resulting in getting less innovative ideas (Nonet, Kassel and Meijs, 2016). As due to the
data mentioned under article, it is examined that in respect of getting wages on hourly bases
women are getting less wages as they carry less capability to give more working hours to
company.
In relation to undertaking the norms of the business in society, the matter related to role
of business is identified in respect of maintaining ethics at work place and also not affects the
right of the person in respect of providing wages. As every person which are working on the
same post carry the equivalent skills and also the treatment which is to be attained is also equal
(Painter-Morland, 2015). Thus, through maintaining ethics in business, resulting in getting more
attraction of customer towards the business. In relation to undertaking the matters in different
companies, the major role of business is to provide quality products at reasonable prices and also
promote the business in right manner.
Stakeholders:
Different companies carry several stakeholders in market but the major priority which
they focus is relating to customers, suppliers, local communities, government, investors and
competitors in business. In respect of customer, they are affected through unethical thinking is
resulting to not preferring the company products in near future (Rasche and Gilbert, 2015). As
customer interest are maintained if they find that employees are treated equally and also, they are
getting wages regarding their work accomplished. Different companies in UK can manage the
dignity of the company through building the strong connectivity with the customers. Thus, it is
necessary that their interest is to be built in right manner and also the ethics are to be maintained
in respect of attracting them for longer way.
In context of suppliers, they are beneficial for the company as through supplying raw
materials is that they are managing the productivity of the company by timely delivery of orders.
They are affected through unethical behaviour in respect of not communicating with them
properly or also not respecting the views in respect of paying timely payment to them (Wasielesk
and Weber, eds., 2019). The investors are affected through not investing money in any of the
projects. As investors are happy when they see that they are getting respect and also accurate
information is to be provide regarding the compony detail. Thus, in such manner if the business
not commit such activity, it resulting in violating the right of the company at larger way.

In relation to government, the ethics is to be maintained by providing the accurate
information. As government carry the rights in respect of manging the company integrity and if
they find that company is not working accruing to the set instruction. They many orders to the
company regarding winding up of business (Doherty, Meehan and Richards, 2015). Thus, the
involvement of government is important in business and also it provide various greater
opportunity to expand the business in different countries. In relation to competitors, it is
examined that their rights are affected and also, they get the more strategies their rights are
affected through unethical behaviours. As customer mind are fluted if they find any illegal
activity which is committed in market. Thus, if any of the business is carrying such procedure, it
results in violating any of the norms, they can distract their interest towards the business.
In respect of analysing the importance of ethics and social responsibility of business, it is
undertaken by the different companies in relation to recruiting the right and skilled person.
Ethics is to be maintained in respect of not discriminating any person at work place. As every
person are equal for the company and thus in case of increment is post results in carrying more
capability to accomplish such task in better way (Ransome and Sampford, 2016). In case of
gender equal pay wages are resulting to getting the positive report from the different companies
as they are giving equal opportunity to both men and worm to maintain their livelihood in better
way. Thus, they also deal in providing wages on hourly bases so that they can enhances the
employment in right manner.
Thus, in such aspects the customer is attracted through presenting the fair reviews of the
company and also became familiar with the company products before promoting them at global
level. Many different companies mainly use the CSR activity to build strong base with
customers. This can be undertaken by adapting the polices of the company through improving
the condition of labour. As they are major part of the business, through their hard work and
dedication, they attain the goal in better way (Borglund, Frostenson and Helin, 2018). By these
aspects they maintain ethical behaviour among the business activities by offering fair polices to
the labours to manage their personal and professional life in better way. This can also be
undertaken in relation to engaging the business into some charity events or also organising any
donation campaign through which they can attract the interest of the customer towards the
business.

B)
In relation to applying the theory in this case study, to specify this judgment it mainly links
up with two basic theories which is relating to firstly Deontological ethics. In this theory, it
mainly states that every person had right to live their life freely and also carry the respect which
other person had to maintain in relation to their caste, culture, sex, region etc. This theory is
linked up with the present case as gender equal pay wages (Sharma and Ahmad, 2019). As in
context of company every employee is equal if they are working in the same post and thus, they
get the right to attain the same wages for equal work committed. Thus, this theory carries the
deep study regarding undertaking the person duty. As every person carry the duty regarding
giving the right suggestion if they are facing any such issue or any obligation arises which affects
the right of the parties in larger way.
The second theory which is examined is relating to Virtue ethics. In this theory the decision
maker carries the duty in relation to maintaining the public relations and also undertaking the
honesty in relation to dealing with such matters. As this theory is linked up with this case study
which stated that gender must carry equal pay at work place and thus it is the duty of the decision
maker to undertake such decision. As loyalty and honesty are the major aspects which results in
maintain ethics in business and also it is the duty of the very person which are engaged in
company had to maintain ethics (Cornuel and Hommel, 2015). Thus, in relation to undertaking
the aspects such as virtue ethics it is mainly needs in the professional stage, as the stability and
integrity of the business is depending upon the honesty and trust. As this can be built by
managing the interest of the customer towards the company and also deal with them in better
perspective.
Thus, in such manner to think about the needs of the stakeholders it is examined in
respective of undertaking various perspective such as by providing accurate information to the
customer regarding the availability of the products. As this is also one of the ethics which is to be
maintained by the different companies in respect of building strong connectivity with the
business. In relation to building the strong base with government, it mainly carries accurate
record of the financial statement (Forray, Leigh and Kenworthy, 2015). As if the matter is related
to gender wages issue, then it can be easily identified in relation to resolve the matter if they face
any. Thus, the role of government is important in relation to dealing such matter in better way.
Another stakeholder which is important in undertaking the matter in right ways is relating to

employees as to manage the working criteria of the business in right manner, it is necessary to
involve them in every matter and also undertake their decision before dealing in any such
matters.
Mainly the issues arise in relation to not motivating employees to work together or also their
decision and judgement are not undertaken to accomplish such task in effective way. Thus, in
such manner the issues of lack of motivation and gender wages gap arise. As men and women
both are not given equal opportunity to participate in similar work and also their decision is not
respected. Thus, in such aspects, the matter is undertaken in relation to not managing ethics in
right manner. In relation to applying this theory equivalent in similar task it reflects that in
relation to first theory it stated that every person had right to live at any place or convey their
thoughts, ideas and judgement with each other (Conrad, 2018). They cannot oblige or judge any
person carrying different culture, caste or sex. The second theory which is relevant to carrying
the virtue and ethics while conveying or maintain any relation in public. As no person carry any
such right to hurt any person emotions or also judge through their culture. They had to maintain
ethics in respect of valuing their culture and also had to undertake certain norms through which
the integrity and dignity of the company is examined.
Thus, ethics are the norms and standards which is to be maintained by compony in respect of
dealing in certain mattes which secure the right of the shareholders. The norms relating to health
and safety factors or also data protection act or also security of the government norms which they
imposed upon company.

Reflection
Ethical leader shows respect to all the members of the team by listening all in alternately
manner, further they also value their contribution and also considering the opposing view point.
Further, I also possess dignity and respect and as a result, as an ethical leader which should not
all the followers as a medium in order to attain the personal goals. I also respect the feelings,
decision and value them and also listen all followers which implies listening them in effective
manner. Further, I also serve others in order to make them realize that they are also important for
the business success (Lin, Ma and Johnson, 2016). Moreover, I am honest and loyal such that
honesty is consider one of the most important elements for an ethical leader. Even I also earn

respect of the followers and then present the facts as well as circumstances which are completely
help to generate best result for the company.
In addition to this, accountability is another important trait which I also possess such that
I am responsible to treat all the members in better manner and also develop the trust among my
subordinate. I also make sure that all the work is conduct by complying all ethics within a firm.
Therefore, there are so many modern examples that show that ethical leadership plays an
important role for the success of a business such that Enron scandal, Ken Lay and Jeffrey
Skilling. Further, I also argued that many top ethical leaders also face issue against their
accountability in the context of not knowing about the illegal accounting practices. Thus, being
an inclusive is also consider another important characteristic for me as an ethical leader which
means that I am clearly share my opinions and also encourage people to voice different ideas
within a firm and being an ethical leader, I also communicate easily with each other and
collaborative in nature (Fehr, Yam and Dang, 2015).
I also understand others people requirement and offer them best solution so that they will
be easily overcome form their problem. Not only this, I always makes sure that, I will not
discriminate others on the basis of any culture, caste and gender so that it will not affect others in
adverse way. I make sure that I provide enough training to all the members of my team in order
to run the business in effective way. Sometimes I also use autocratic leadership style in order to
make right decision but that does not mean that I misuse the power. On the other side, I make
sure that all the decision is carrying out with proper manner and there must be a collaboration. I
also possess consistency as a trait which should be present in the ethical leader (Mo and Shi,
2017). Further, I make sure that I always inspire the entire workforce to meet the ethical
standards as well as rules and regulation so that it will help in the success of a business and reach
the business towards further level of success.
Managing the business by ethical leader
For a manager to manage the business it is very necessary that the manage is not biased
and uses all the ethical working practices for managing the business. With the analysis I learnt
that for managing the business ethically it is very necessary for the manager of DIFFERENT
COMPANIES to have integrity while applying the management principles (Crane & et.al. 2019).
The integrity is necessary because of the fact that integrity refers to as the honesty which needs
to be maintained at time of working within the company. Thus, for manager of company it is

crucial to have integrity in its working. One more major important way of managing the business
ethically in the workplace is confidentiality.
According to me this is very necessary as it is the moral duty and responsibility of the
manager to keep all the information of the company and the consumers safe and confidential. For
managing the business ethically this is the most important aspect of keep things confidential. In
accordance to me another major principle is of compliance with all the laws. This is also very
necessary for responsible management of the business. It is so because of if the rules and
regulations are not being followed by the ethical manager of various companies then no
consumer will like the company. this is pertaining to the fact that the compliance of the laws and
regulations will ensure that the company is following all the rules and regulations.
Thus, it is concluded that for a successful working of the company it is very necessary for
the manager to be ethical and responsible in their working.
CONCLUSION
From the above report on the business ethics and responsible management it is concluded
that the following of ethics and being a responsible management is very crucial for the company
to be successful. This is majorly because of the reason that with the following of the ethics the
company ensures that all the working and operations of the company are morally and ethically
correct. Thus, for the business to run successfully in the highly competitive market is very
essential for the company to manage all the changes responsibly. The responsible management is
defined as maintaining the balance between the interest of all the people relating to the business
and who are interested in the working of the company that is all the stakeholders. Thus, the
present report mainly focussed on the business ethics and responsible management.
The present report started by analysing the pay gap in the company as this is a recent
issue in business ethics. This states that there should not be any difference between the pay on
the basis of gender that is male is paid more and the females are paid less. Further the report
discussed about the different ethical theories which are used by the company in maintaining
ethics in the business. In the end a reflection on the characteristics of ethical leader and how
these ethical managers manage the workplace was discussed.
