INTRODUCTION:
Every organisation must have a health and safe working environment so that employees
can work without any fear. It is the responsibility of business to develop policies related to health
care. Also, they have to monitor environment to ensure whether policies are properly followed or
not (Uronen, Heimonen and Salanterä, 2017) Beside this, inspection and health check must be
done so that changes can be made to make working conditions more effective. It is important to
evaluate skills of staff so that it can be improved. This will help in keeping employees happy and
engaged. This report will show factors that affect business and what improvements can be done
to minimise their effect. Also, it will evaluate current skills of management and developing plans
to improve them. For present report organisation selected is Mc d . It belongs to fast food sector
and operates globally.
TASK 1
1.1 Analyse the objectives of the business
McDonald's is a fast food retail chain business that operated all over the world. The main
goals and objectives of firm is to provide quality and cheap fast food to people. It also focuses on
needs of people so that it can be fulfilled.
History of McDonald's- Roy krox in 1954 identified that McDonald's brothers were using
machines in their restaurant. With this McDonald's came into existence. In 1968 first ham burger
was launched by McDonald's and in 1965 it went to public (Gupta and Gandhi, 2016). The goal
of McDonald's is to provide their customer favourite place to eat and drink.
Specific – It is having specific goals that is completely based in customer needs
Measurable- It can be measured by taking feedback of customers
Achievable- this goal is achievable as McDonald's can develop an effective place for customer
to eat and drink.
Realistic- It can be achieved by making efforts and utilising resources.
Timely- McDonald's need 2-4 years in order to achieve this goal.

1.2 Explain factors that impact on the business
The success of business depends on how it will analyse internal and external factors that
is affecting them and what plans are developed in order to minimise impact. Besides this, factors
helps in finding out weak areas and improving it (Tien and Chung, 2018) This becomes easy for
business to grow and expand in different markets. The various factors that can be analysed is as
follows :-
PESTLE- It describes the external environment of McDonald's. In is a mnemonic that stands
for political, economic, social,
 Political – McDonald's operates globally, so it is affected by changes in political
situations of various countries. This has enabled McDonald's to develop rules and
regulation according to laws of country. Also, company trade with other countries.
 Economic- It is related to income level, inflation rate, etc. of nation. McDonald's
products are cheap and is affordable by people. But they have to change their prices
according to change in any factor describes above.
 Social – It is related to culture, religion of people that live in country. A change in this
have a direct impact on taste and preference of customers (Nelson and Staggers, 2016)
McDonald's produces products according to belief and value of people. For example- in
India McDonald's has focused on vegetarian people and have banned non veg products
 Technological – change in technology can affect business operations. It can force
business to change their process or methods. McDonald's has implemented advance
systems and machines in production process.
 Environmental – It is the most influential factor. Government can change laws related to
environment. McDonald's is following laws that has enabled them to reduce wastage. For
this they have develops specific laws (Mills, Harte and Usher-Smith, 2017) Their
products are also environment friendly.
