Leading and managing organization can be defined as a set of tasks which are intended to
manage organizational activities in order to make an entity thrive. The report would be
discussing challenges comes on the way while practising diversities among staff. At the end of

fulfilment of the aim Sainsbury organization is going to be taken.

A diverse workplace help organizations in order to better understand by target
demographic and what process can move them. Also, a diverse workplace is related to betters
align ans company's culture by identifying the demographic or other factors. This is help for
increasing the customer satisfaction by improving how employees interacts with more diverse
public. It can be said that global is changing the marketplace in order to more focus on getting
the best way of competitive advantages by diversifying the workplaces in companies. Also, it is
matters only by bringing the benefits in business spheres as the brand management (Duchek,
Raetze and Scheuch, 2020). Then, this is also related client engagement and CSR in order to create
the additional value for company by attracting diverse professional which help to driven
innovation.
Diversity in the workplace regarding staff are help organization to maintain positive
cultures as well as it promotes the individuality within company by acknowledging every person
who can contribute with different, new ides and creative solution Also, it is motivating other
employees to be motivated in order to live with different background and experiences that can
bring together a variety of perspective by including different type of matter which is necessary to
increase the productivity and then it helps to deliver the results. Diversity played important role

2020).
For example, Sainsbury hire candidate who are belongs to different background because
diversity within company help for building strong brand in order to make organization by more
interesting and desirable employer that can be related to diversified workforce organization gain
even good reputation and image which is seen having fair employment practices. Then, this is
related to workplace diversity which help to increase creativity in order to solve the problem.

Also, by having different people from different background are come together in order to
implement by creative solution to business problem.
When diverse mindset of people are coming together it is help for getting creative
solution in order to focus on solving business problems. On the basis of diverse market it is
necessary to work on come together by providing different type of solution that can be arisen the
individual by bringing ways of thinking, solving problems and operating by taking decision-
making process. Also, this is also encouraged personal growth and development in order to
exeats or person with international background working for organization (Hunt, Prince and Yee,
2018). Also, for employees this is beneficial for international background employees by working

practice which help for improving the ability of work in diverse environment on the basis of

Sainsbury is one of the top retail giant of UK which is operating its business with more
than 1400 stores. So if the organization strives to manage its diversity among employees then
there will be some challenges before it since the diaspora of the organization is quite wide so it
would be facing some issues (Yuldashev, 2019)
One of the biggest challenges on the way of diversity management is cost factor. Since
the business is being operated on wide scale so the fact cannot be rejected that there will be need
of higher cost in order to manage its diversity. It will be impacting its operational efficacy. On
the other hands, in the company there are mammoth number of people are working with their
different identities so it will be harder to bring synthesizing communication among them.
The biggest market or it can be said that the significant share of market is in UK. where
natives are working. If the management tries to bring uniformity and equality then there will be a
bit dissatisfaction among the remaining employees and the management may experience higher
uproar from their side. The diaspora of the entity is very wide and mammoth so it can be easily

seen that there are diverse number of people are working with their different needs and
recognition to one of such challenge would be to trace different groups (Deterding, 2019)
Even if such diverse groups are recognized then formulation of strategy and its
application become other difficult task. An organization cannot address all its ethical groups and
if the organization is like retail giant then it becomes hard nut to crack. Over the time, it has been
experienced that the organization is going through its toughest time.
The fact cannot be denied that the organization is having tough competition with some
other key players of the market such as M&S, Tesco. For making this policy enforced there will
be need to fabricate the policy abiding with cost and competitive effectiveness which is very
tough nut to crack so with this regard, the organization may face severe challenges.
Over the time, it is also seen that when such policies are being practised by organizations
they face issue of interest conflict. All the ethnic groups strive to hold special position and if
equality is being fetched then they feel discomfort. it may put severe challenge before
management, and they may face problems while putting these rules on ground level (Guillén,
2020)
Sainsbury is a global giant and operating its business of markets. So if it paves way for
such practise yet there will be a few issues such as Slower decision-making, Cultural
misunderstanding among employees, inequitable conclusions etc. can be seen happening in the
organization.

Scientific management is the notion which supports the idea that there must be scientific
practise in the organizations rather than rule of thumb. With this regard there has been some
theories which deciphered these ideas to the fullest extend yet it would not be false to say that
they all had some shortcomings.
If talk about the weaknesses they have then there is a waste list. These theories such as
Taylorism or Rational Goal theory are having their lacunas which are hindering its way to work
with hyper attentiveness. If talks about problems then there are some perils which are raising
questions on its reliability and appropriateness in the prevailing circumstances.
The major issues or weaknesses are widely disseminated. For instance, it constantly pays
attention on demotivating different approaches and paves way for only scientific management
but it is not practically viable. It brings division of work, management control, overly

bureaucratic environment, mechanistic, not suitable in different circumstances etc. so these all
are some weaknesses which are still there in practise of scientific management (Lim, 2019)
It becomes easier for entities to eradicate non-profit generating activities. It is only
possible with the help of scientific management. It aims to work with a vision and must avoid all
types of vagueness so can work with higher efficiency. The big bulls of market get inclined to
scientific management so can fetch efficiency to their organizational performance.
Yet it is so often to see it in practise, there are number of reasons which are driving some
organizations to practise scientific and lucrative management. With the progress of time the
market is becoming more diversified and competitive so some big organizations such as
Amazon, McDonald's, FedEx etc. are still practising scientific management. They are having
need to make their administrations more powerful and profit making which becomes easier with
the help of scientific management.
It can be said that by implementing scientific management an organization can hike its
operations efficiency which makes these principles first choice for bigger organizations. The
organizations who are performing widely spread business and are striving to get better in
horrendous competition, so they generally abide with such principles. It makes way for achieving
bigger aims and also helps to eradicate potential areas with perils. The fact cannot be denied that
such methods bring difficulties in operations yet in such difficult predicament it becomes
unavoidable for organizations (Carpenter, 2019)
So it can be concluded that despite having some discrepancies or can be cited as
weaknesses it is still having its great presence in a few organizations who are using it to may be
fullest or partial extend in order to make herself thrive.
Scientific management is carrying some key characteristics which are making it present, and
organizations are not able to phase out it. These characteristics are as-

to pour on profits.

their practice. If an organization is striving to be competitive in this cut-throat competition then
they need to inculcate best practices which becomes handy by only scientific management.
It ponders over best alternative rather than traditional manner, which makes it more
lucrative in nature. Now one of the biggest issue for management is to make most affective
decision, and their entire success depends on the efficiency of decision-making. It can be made
errorless only with the help of scientific management.
One of the biggest advantage of scientific management is that it accentuates on Work
Specialization and Weight-age to Specialists. In this competitive age there is one thing which is
inevitable is profit making. Without promoting specialization it can not be accomplished so with
the help of scientific management it can be made easier (Kholiavko, et al. 2020)
If an organization is very large then it supports to install the best set of management
system, which makes it first preference of Giant sized organizations. It is not much simple for
MNCs to operate their business world widely with their limited approaches so with this regard it
comes as a path shower and make their journey easier.
It has been experienced over the time, that the organizations found scientific management
more handy when it comes to augmentation of efficiency. In the age of modernization and
competitor an organization can only be lucrative and profit generating if they are evolving their
process timely. In such cases, scientific management comes as a boon and helps to make
organizations more efficient (Singh and Singh, 2020)
So, form the evaluation made above it can be concluded that these all key characteristics
are there in the scientific management which are upholding the notions and convictions it comes
up with. At the same time these characteristics are being proven helpful for the organizations,
and they are able to hike their overall efficiency with the help of scientific management. This is
the reason the big or giant organizations are still practising it and it is still present in the
organizations.

usefulness of scientific management principles is still present. The report discussed management
of diversities in an organization. With this regard, Sainsbury supermarket has been taken and
what challenges may come on the way were deciphered. At the end of the report the usefulness

of Scientific management had been evaluated along with key characteristics it possesses which
are making its presence in the market despite having some big weaknesses.
