Executive Summary
When it was founded in 1933, Nissan Motor Company, Ltd. quickly became a leader in
the automotive industry. After more than seven decades in business, Nissan is now among the
world's leading automakers. The company's 2016 production of 2, 4 million automobiles
represented 4.9% of the global market. With annual sales of 774,000 vehicles in the UK market,
it is the second biggest carmaker in the country, behind only Toyota Motor Corporation.
Approximately 40% of Nissan vehicles are sold in Japan, 25% in the UK, and 20% in the rest of
Europe. After sustaining losses during the 1990s, Nissan chose to form a global cooperation with
Renault S.A. in March 1999. Renault S.A. has acquired a 38% stake in Nissan as part of this
agreement. After that point, a lot of internal changes were made.
Nissan is a full-line automaker, producing over 60 vehicles across the Nissan, INFINITI,
and Datsun brands. The company made 11.6 trillion yen in revenue during the fiscal year 2018,
thanks to the global sale of 5.52 million vehicles. Nissan's international headquarters are in the
Japanese city of Yokohama. From here, the corporation manages its operations across six distinct
continents and Oceania’s: Asia and Oceania; Africa, the Middle East, and India; China; Europe;
Latin America; and North America. Nissan's cooperation with Renault dates back to 1999, and in
2016, Nissan bought a 34% stake in Mitsubishi Motors. Ten and a half million cars were sold
throughout the globe in 2018 thanks to the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.
The consultant study's principal objective and focus has been to investigate and
comprehend the difficulties Nissan Motor Company is encountering in the United Kingdom. The
consultancy firm looked at the many problems facing the company on the inside and outside the
country in their final report. Furthermore, a stakeholder analysis for Nissan Motor Company was
crafted to provide insight into the potential impact of the challenges on the company as a whole.
Then, the Medlow’s Matrix was built to identify all the different people who had a stake in the
company. In addition, a SWOT analysis and a PESTLE analysis were provided as additional
analyses based on secondary sources of information. In conclusion, some recommendations were
made as possible answers to the issues.

Nishi-cu, Yokohama, Japan, is the headquarters of the Japanese automobile company Nissan.
There are a number of brands inside the Nissan and Infiniti umbrella, with the in-configuration
management items (such as cars) dubbed "Gismo" being sold under the company's own name.
Nissan zaibatsu was formed in the beginning 20th century and is now known as Nissan Group.
Since 1999, the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance has been made up of Renault, Nissan, and
Mitsubishi (Mitsubishi joined the alliance in 2016). Renault has a 15% non-voting stake in
Nissan, with the 43.4 percent market share. Since October 2016, Nissan has held a 34% stake in

Indeed, Nissan was the globe's sixth-largest automaker in 2013, falling just short of the
global heavyweights Toyota and Ford. When all of its businesses were integrated, the Renault–
Nissan Cooperation agreement was the world's fourth-largest automaker. Nissan was perhaps the
most famous Japanese brand in China, Russian, and Mexico.

By the end of March 2018, Nissan has sold more than 320,000 all-electric autos globally,
making it the world's leading electric vehicle manufacturer. In second place while behind Tesla
Prototype 3, the Nissan LEAF is the best-selling electric vehicle in the world. A wide variety of
mainstream vehicles and trucks have been produced by Nissan since the 1950s, originally for the
Japanese market, but now sold around the globe.
Its sports car lineup includes the Nissan Fair lady 1500, 1600 and 2000, the Z-car, a low-
cost sports car, and the GT-R, a powerful all-wheel-drive sports coupe.
Gismo was established by Nissan in 1985 as a racing and performance development
branch for such vehicles. The 370Z Gismo is one of Gismo’s most recent vehicles[ CITATION

Challenges of Nissan
A decrease in sales as a result of heavy discounts and an outdated product line is one of
the numerous challenges that Nissan is currently confronted with. In addition, it has to strike a
balance between the need to invest a lot of money on electric and driverless vehicle technologies
and the necessity to keep its cash reserves healthy. Both the industry's overall volume and its
performance have been declining recently (Kim, 2021)
In addition to Ghosn's detention, Nissan has been forced to deal with the repercussions of
his arrest in an airport in Tokyo at the beginning of November 2018. A number of allegations
have been made against him, including misrepresenting his salary and abusing the resources
available to the company. After spending several months in and out of jail, Carlos Ghosn was
finally able to escape Japan by squeezing himself into a case designed for stringed instruments
and boarding a private plane.
As a direct consequence of this, Nissan is working toward streamlining its product lineup
while simultaneously introducing new products (Kim, 2019). The Aria, an electric crossover, is
one vehicle that has captured the interest of many individuals working in the automobile
business. Before the launching of the Leaf, Nissan was already recognized as a pioneer in the
field of electric autos thanks to a compact and cost-effective hatchback model of their electric
vehicle. During this time, however, the competition from other automobile manufacturers gained
steam and started to steal the spotlight.
The sales of Infinity, a luxury company that was formed by Nissan Motor, were formerly
encouraged by heavy discounting, which had a negative effect on earnings until very recently
