critically identify the impacts of leadership style on employees performance.” A study of
Tesco.
What do you hope to find out?
From the current research, investigator hope that it will find out the information about
different leadership styles and how it affects the business performance. This develop the
understanding and knowledge regarding particular topic and will support the study
effectively.

The rationale for the study is that the overall analysis of the
leadership styles on the employee performance has to be analysed
(Cope and Murray, 2017). Therefore, In this way it can be said that a
proper analysis of the leadership styles is quite essential so that the
employees can be motivated in the right manner quite effectively and
efficiently. This will be helpful in understanding the way in which the
overall level of performance within the organization can be enhanced. In
Tesco, the rationale behind this research is that it will be quite helpful in
understanding the overall level of impact which will be created by
change in leadership styles in the company.
The theoretical rationale behind it is that the assessment of the
wide variety of leadership needs and requirements has to be made so
that the leaders can adopt a particular approach accordingly. Therefore,
In this way it can be said that the leaders can make sure that they can
change their leadership style in such a manner so that they are able to
effectively and efficiently identify the approach to be undertaken to
attain the organizational goals and objectives.
The organizational rationale behind it is that the organizations
have to ensure that their leaders are able to understand the particular
way in which they can change their leadership style which will be helpful
in ensuring that they can derive the appropriate conclusions and
recommendations in the future.

According to Lomotey (2019), Leadership style is the main aspects for
any business organization as it attracts the employees who works at the
workplace and attain the competitive advantages. Leadership style is
the behavioural pattern which is adopted by leader to influence the
behaviour of their followers that can help to increase the business
productivity. A person should have leadership qualities and skills which
can be used to accomplish the task within certain time period. The

leader motivates and direct their subordinates who understand the task
and perform their work effectively. Leadership is the concept of
competence, honesty, commitment, integrity, courage and
straightforwardness which use to develop the business activities.
As per view point of Roe (2020), In relation to Tesco, leader is performing
an important role as it identify the problems of employees who are
facing, not accepting changes and leaving the organization due to
reasons. Herein, leader uses the effective leadership style that suits to
their situation and working for the purpose of solving problems and
managing workings effectively. In relation to business, a leader is
playing important role at the workplace as it identify the problems of
employees and provide them optimum solution that can help to increase
the business productivity.
The importance of leadership styles in Tesco?
As per view point of Yamin (2020), Leadership style is defined as
procedure of influencing, attracting, directing, and managing the
employees performance which can help to develop the business
performance. For each organisation it is important to have effective
leadership styles which can be use to identify the problem and provide
the right solution. In each industry, leadership is important function as it
maximize the efficiency, and productivity of organization. The leader is
the only one who keep in touch with employees and fill their
expectations. This can help to communicate properly and getting the
work done properly.
According to Xie, (2019) In Tesco, Leadership style is most important as,
leader take initiate action to start the work by communicating with
employees, motivating the employees by analysing their performance
and providing the guidance that can help to perform their work
efficiently. Democratic leadership style using by Tesco organization in
which all members and employees are participating in decision making
process. In this, roles and responsibilities are delegated between
employees who brings the changes in their existing performance and
complete the task effectively. Leadership style is important in this

organisation as it build the morale of employees, building a good
working environment, motivating the employees, and maintaining the
coordination that can help to increase the business performance
effectively.
What are the impacts of leadership style on Tesco's employee
performance?
According to Bake (2019), Leadership style is determining that how
someone uses their authority, and power for leading the others. If
organization has adopted effective leadership style then it make the
people comfortable and motivate them to work more. Tesco has adopted
Democratic leadership style that impacted positively as it influence the
number of employees to work enthusiastically for the purpose of
achieving objectives. A leader who works at the workplace is having
ability to maintain the good relationship, and motivating ability which
use to increase the business activities and performance in competitive
environment. The leader of such organization identify problem, analysis
the performance and suggest them what needs to do that can help to
improve the business profitability. On the other side, leadership style is
enhancing the employee's performance, job satisfaction, work
motivation, and work performance which can help to attain the business
goals.
As per view point of Kazim (2019) leadership style is impacting for
each organisation as it increase the productivity, and retain the
employees who works and bring the improvements continuously. By
allocating the roles and responsibilities between employees, a leader
make sure management that all work has been done and goals are
achieved that supports to grow the business.
